Loved this episode about columbines. I'm not a botanist or even a gardener, but do love science. You explain complex processes in a way I can understand. Thank you for this series and congratulations!
We have a solid bright yellow columbine in our garden that I started in the community college greenhouse just over 20 years ago. We collected seeds last year and my aunt started a bunch and put them in her yard. Then, just a couple weeks ago, we bought a bunch of discount mixed columbines and planted them all along the fencerow. Now old faithful yellow has a bunch of new friends. This was a fun stumble-upon video. Thanks for teaching me about the staminodia :D. "A whole new Whoooorl!"
This makes me so happy!! Have you tried crossing them? I looove making wild and wacky hybrids from the varieties we have around the greenhouse - and it may have already happened just through cross-pollination so you might see even more fun new friends next year 🤗
I work with B. Sharma she worked with Dr. Kramer while at Harvard and omg where was I when I was learing how to dissect these in my lab!!! I can't wait to do this again in a few weeks!!
So glad you like it! Aren't columbines just the greatest? Very tempted to do a full music video..."a new fantastic flower paaart! no one to tell you no, or how to devo!"
This is marvelous but my aged brain had to watch it four times to let some of the knowledge I once possessed sink in, let's hope it doesn't escape. "Good job, done well"
Thanks for sharing this Awesome breakdown of the columbine plant 🤩!
Wow! This is a fantastic piece of work and a very specific look into botany and a fabulous plant! Well done :)
Until now, I´d never understood the meaning of evo-devo, thanks so much! I love your videos, from Mexico.

I've definitely giggled after hearing it . Does that make me an immature columbine flower ?

Shame their seeds don’t pregerminate as easily as say, sunflowers.
Pretty nice introduction!
Is your channel only related to biology?
You are so gorgeous molly 😱😍
