    • @ryosaeba3942
      @ryosaeba3942 6 лет назад +12

      Precisely because they're emotional, they are constituted in that way, emotions takes a relevant place in the decision making of those types, therefore and due to the lack of analytical thinking they also are very attached to what inspires certainty, meaning tradition, religion, family values, certain forms of communication or communion with their pears (that often include over reaction) and to live life as "it is".

    • @ryosaeba3942
      @ryosaeba3942 6 лет назад +7

      Everything changes, that's a fact, people that are too emotional or attach to much to the past or the present as if it were constituted by absolute and immutable truths are living the life "as it is" in my opinion. People with empathy not only call for peace and wisdom, they work very hard to seek peace and wisdom in a logical manner, with vision, subordinating feeling to reason and detaching themselves from the current trends when the situation demand it in order to shape a more peaceful future.
      MBTI does not shape us at all, as you said we're far more complex, each of us is a unique cocktail, but certainly MBTI describes roughly some predominant aspects in each of us pretty well.
      Otherwise I never said that be a particular type is guaranty of success.

    • @ryosaeba3942
      @ryosaeba3942 6 лет назад +2

      You're supposing to much and trying hear tones and read thing between lines that I never said.
      I'm not implying nothing, if a person is hopeless or not time will say it not me.
      Otherwise yes I tend to be analytical and I'm happy with the results of that in my life.
      I'm not attached to certainties, meaning I never close circles, but I seek certainties in life as anybody else, that's the way we define reality, in my case any conclusion to which I arrived can be reevaluated if a better argument came.
      The world is indeed beautiful in many aspects and we as humans are far better than in the past so in that regard I'm very optimistic.
      Regarding to be subject of influences, I think I'm not or at least I try to not as I suppose you do too.

      Mish. Michelle well not necessarily. I mean, every system, for the most part, is “highly flawed” in that you can’t prove pretty much any underlying assumption. You’ll have to be more specific here than just it’s “highly flawed”. Stating that by itself is not presenting a relevant scale of “flawed-ness”, and therefore just sort of renders your statement moot. What exactly do you mean by that?

      Edit: Also remember that a flaw is within perfection because perfection is based on an individual perception of said concept. An opinion of a fact more or less. So person A may not like the smell of the flowers but persons B and C do and so its both perfect and flawed merely because ones opinion to anothers. My depiction of the perfect life might be totally different from yours but it doesn't make them any less true or false.

      @@TecnocraciaDev Coincidentely, it happened to me too. I've been shamed by a teacher for giving a straight-foward, honest opinion about her class, through a private writing, when she asked it that day in the first place. She then proceeded to accuse me of not having any evidence to back it up and to categorize it as a non-objective opinion, waving the paper somewhat angered back and forth (showing my calligraphy) and telling the entire class that we would learn about that in next year's Psychology class. I decided not to say anything in front of my classmates and again, respecting her job as a teacher, speak to her in private.
      She thought I was simply being harsh and angry because I didn't get a good grade in a group exposition (when in reality, I was describing how the lack of opportunities given after these unclear instructions and unpresented student in our group affected all of our performance; and how she didn't even want to take into consideration an important part of the job the latter didn't show that day), whilist justifying herself with my use of 'tone in writing'. I think she didn't realize that an objective opinion (although it can be entirely subjective, who cares if after all it's just an opinion), requieres anything but a sugar-covered use of words. It was simply sincere, had constructive and respectful criticism, and I even clarified on the paper that I still appreciated her job; When I write, I'm very direct, especially being a woman makes it comes of as a little bit harsh...
      I was very harsh, of course. I even cried after speaking to her in private and tolerating her cutting me off mid-sentence, angrily saying 'I think you're disrespecting me' and walking away. She excused herself before that by stating, I quote, 'You're a very good student, but you fucked up ('ts actually a similar informal expression in spanish) at some points.'
      Weird experience indeed, sorry about the length

      Edited for better readablility and understanding: When I get stuck on a problem in mathematics or computer science. I take a break and start to draw. Drawing something real (life drawing) , concept or abstract it makes my mind detach from the usual systematic way things are taught and use my own way. So when I go back to finding a solution, I am thinking about it in a totally different perspective. I've noticed that for me at least, using some time drawing somehow helps me learn other material even though I am not interacting with it. The solutions I think about when drawing something like snow falling at night and the street light illuminating it, helps me get my mind into a strong creative state. I have to mentally put myself in the scene to recreate the feel on a paper. It has to give others that same feeling or at least something close to it. This is why I have the highest respect for artist. It took me a while to see what they truly do when they recreate a scene or create concept art. The best example is the artist FZD. When you get a small realization of ( I have yet to fully understand it) what his brain is doing to create a scene from scratch. The thought process he went through to get to that state required pure genius. At the end, in my head what artist, physicists do are pretty much the same. They just have different methods in doing so. I feel as if data science might be the key to bringing the two together if Data Science is used for.. the sciences... and not profits.

      @RatusMax 6 лет назад +8

      I read the cool story bro some two weeks ago. I decided not to reply because there is pretty much no way to explain in detail how I learn new things. (I wrote it out but only few would understand it.) You'll have the people who understand and people who don't understand. That's ok because we all have different ways we use our brain to come up with a solution. Like how I had to find a way that I was in a dream to stop myself from bedwetting. The last time I stopped bedwetting was when I was in a dream and there was a toilet in the middle of the desert. It felt so real but then I started to question the scenario I was in. That's when I noticed some inconsistencies in the dream. Noticing I am in a dream came to my advantage because it enabled me to remember my dreams. It also allowed me to dream about what I read before I go to sleep and improve on it. So it's nice going to sleep on a problem and waking up the next day knowing how to do it. My brother on the other hand claims he can't even remember any of his dreams. He even tries to state he doesn't dream at all but that is something I won't believe.

      INTPs also have this trait, they both have tendencies to have a non-stop thought process which is almost impossible to shut down. It's only possible if what's happening outside your head is much more interesting that what's inside, and that happens rarely. Most of the time, even when talking to someone or watching a film, there's some kind of wheel that is rolling endlessly. The speed of that wheel is inversely proportional to the amusement of the outside stimulation, that means that even if the conversation is interesting you will still have a fade thought process in the background. Only something that is extremely interesting, requires full attention, or sheer willpower can stop it for a brief moment. Hell, I even daydream or have random thoughts during sex.

I've gone on to personality forums where a disproportionate number of people labeled themselves as INTJs because that personality was the "coolest" and the most "elite" of the personalities. None of the MBTI personalities are necessarily any better than any of the others, though, and just because you think that one personality _sounds_ cool, that doesn't mean that _you_ are that personality. I think that INTJs are awesome, and I have some surface-level similarities with them (highly analytic, trying to devise perfect systems and processes), but I'm definitely not an INTJ.

There are many times when it's convenient to analyze a fully argued point of view and get a holistic sense of all of the approaches people can take for solving a problem (I like write stories that paint broad portraits of society and get all of its complexities). However, I also have Asperger's. As an extrovert with Asperger's, life sucks a _looooot._ I also have a hard time committing to things because I become more of a jack-of-all-trades, so it hurts me when I try to get a skilled job. It's also hard to complete a story that I start writing because I get so many different ideas for other stories, and then I get ideas for things that I can research. It's frustrating. I'm just happy that my type isn't particularly fetishized on Personality Cafe.

      @hypnoticallychaotic1907 6 лет назад +19

      Very true. Intelligence tends to "waver around" so to speak as well (brain is currently lacking better wording). It's usually based on things like what we know (learned), how quickly our minds operate in things like problem solving and resourcefulness, how open minded we are, how willing to learn we are, and how willing we are to admit we don't know everything. And strangely this can all be effected by how strong our emotions are, as well, and nobody regardless of personality type is truly immune to that. Another thing about the INTJ type, for those who feel they want to learn how to identify it, or even to better understand it, is that one should never rely solely on what they read or hear online (as stereotypes can blind one's mind, and are literally a joke). Not all INTJs will hide their emotions all the time, nor be "grammar nazis". In every aspect of life, there are "typical" things/people, and there are exceptions. For some examples, there's good cops and bad cops everywhere, smart people and dumb people everywhere, and good people and bad people everywhere. A bit simple on that last, but I'm hoping it makes the part before it less confusing, as I tend to have that effect on people

    I'm an INTJ and while I did study engineering, I'm more interested in music and philosophy. Because I'm an atheist, I struggle with creating purpose knowing there isn't one. The only thing keeping this issue from swallowing me whole is studying philosophy and having creative outlets.
    Edit: Wow, I completely forgot this post was a thing. I want to address some of the replies that are now too old to reply to directly.
    *Hi A.J. I studied Psychology. I want to recommend you to watch The Case for Christ movie...*
    I've been down that rabbit hole already. Was raised Christian, and I believed until I had my wits about me (around age 16). Learned as much as I could about religion and the arguments against it (I already had the arguments for). I've been an atheist for about 13 years now. There's nothing that a human being could say to me to convince me the Christian (or any other man-made) god exists. There may be some kind of entity out there, but I don't think something of that kind of unimaginable capability would need us to inflate its ego through worship. Not to mention how narcissistic that god would have to be to have literally invented us for the purpose of worshiping it. Let's also not mention the literally insane threat of eternal torment if we didn't partake in its narcissistic games...
    *You don't know there isn't one, you assume there isn't one.*
    That's accurate, technically. I think it's a safe assumption, considering I've seen precisely zero indication that any objective purpose exists. After thousands of years, humans haven't been able to locate it.
    *...I respect the values religions bring though.*
    Fair enough. I don't at this point. It's one of those things where it's totally cool with me as long as they keep it to themselves. Unfortunately, that's not how it works on the whole. It will always leak into public policy. I'm not sure what positive values come out of religion that couldn't have been arrived at otherwise. They are man-made values after all. The best parts of Christianity in my opinion come out of Stoic thought. Best to just read the Stoics.
    *I used to wonder why the idea of a christian INTJ seemed so absurd to some people (I have had people question me quite a lot). From my understanding it can partially be traced to the fact that there is so much in religion that goes unexplained. Would you say that's true, or am I just blowing hot air?*
    INTJs tend to be analytical. They tend to need proof that supports a claim before they adopt that claim as true (or at least the closest thing to the truth they've found so far). There is not only no proof that a god exists, there are plenty of reasons to believe the panoply of modern gods that humans worship doesn't exist. Obviously, the claim that a god exists isn't falsifiable. So really it's a waste of time to argue the point if you value the scientific method as a means to make sense of our experience of reality.
    *I hope the philosophy takes, because "knowing" there is no purpose has been explored by the finest minds. It seems you are emotionally attached to the idea you know there is no purpose, but please use your intellect and passion to be humble enough to accept there are a lot of possibilities. Too many people mistake their unhealthy detachment for being intj, wanting what they see as power, because they are afraid of vulnerability that comes with intimacy. If a person has healthy attachments and connections they are less likely to experience these things. You may have depression. Take care.*
    I absolutely was emotionally attached to the idea at the time. I still, of course, assumeeeee there's no objective purpose. But I've realized that the idea of being yoked to an objective purpose from birth would be some form of fatalistic slavery. Seems to me that if one values freedom as I do, we kind of have it made. There's absolutely nothing about an objective purpose that makes death more tolerable, unless you believe in the afterlife. I wish I did. The intimacy stuff wasn't incorrect. I'm in a place now where I feel very free to express everything openly. The big thing there was learning about mindfulness and detaching from that old fiction, the ego.
    *When people around you start talking about religion and your just so confused because your agnostic*
    Classically, agnosticism itself isn't a position you can take on a particular topic except for knowledge in general. Colloquially, people think it means you don't know either way so you kinda stay out of the mix. Frankly, the only SANE position regarding religion is agnosticism. Anyone who can claim to KNOW there is a god is deluding themselves. That's why faith is seen as so important: it's all ya got when your god has a frustrating hands-off policy with his peons or when he simply doesn't exist. The question is are you an agnostic atheist or an agnostic theist? There's no middle ground. Either you believe in something or you don't. And I'll go a step further to mention that to be an atheist, you only have to lack a belief in a god. It doesn't necessarily mean your claim is that there isn't one.

      I'm very sorry, Brian, but it looks like you're slightly missing the point, there. The reason I originally commented, was because I have a problem with people including themselves into a large body of millions and millions of people, who, despite having scored the same type, are bound to be different and in some cases, very different from each other, just as a matter of probability. Due to these differences, it's not legitimate to do this, it's analogous to saying _"as an atheist"_ , or _"as a black man"_ or something along those lines and it's done when people say "us", so as to suggest that they're part of or represent a group. This is also why, when you change the word to "INTJ" or "them", instead of "us", this criticism no longer applies.

      +sof Wow, well, I sure didn't think I'd be saying this, but I actually agree with you, in the sense that people who are into this MBTI stuff, particularly on RUclips, take it way too seriously, viewing everything through the lens of their test results. As for the types, as unbelievable as it might sound, there actually is a substantial amount of evidence to prove their validity, which isn't to say that their significance, again, isn't _hugely_ overstated by people who like to make these little RUclips videos about them.

    Spot on, I would love nothing more than to ponder upon a technical discussion and delve into the different approaches through careful thought with that being said, technical advancements in humanity would never advance without the humane aspect of our knowledge such as history and art which are our means of documentation and would certainly improve the ability to provide more effective technical solutions. Keep up the good work!

    I just took the tests and am INTJ. Found this link and listened. My 1st thought is how can this be so accurate? This is actually a pretty perfect description of me. I'm in Engineering and own my own company. Pretty much fit exactly all the other traits mentioned. Showed all of this to my grown children and they laughed about how accurate it was giving me examples over our lifetimes together which made us all laugh. Really interesting. It's nice to finally be understood. :)

    I'm so glad there's a channel like IDR Labs around, a source that is _at least_ likely to be reliable, with real, true information to back up their claims and no vague guesses or anecdotal evidence, like what is often presented by MBTI lovers on RUclips, as conclusive, established data about their own type, while, in reality, it often amounts to little more than arbitrarily selected traits that they may see in themselves, or in others and have decided to assign to their type. This is what I personally find very frustrating about these RUclipsrs, so I really appreciate a channel like this one!

    LMFAO! I did this four letter personality test a few times, years ago. I had to do it more than once because I had a friends who had a hard time with me being allowed to be a "mastermind". It was just a title of a group so I spent that time laughing at her jealousy and not really thinking about the test. I just thought of this today and decided to find what RUclips has to say on it and this video is pretty spot on :D. Im a nurse because I liked the science and I have not pursued becoming a doctor because I see much of it as a waste of time getting societal approval. The work comes first (haha "does it work?" could be a mantra of mine). It's really amazing how accurate this can be. Thanks :)

    I think the rising numbers of INTJ's is due to things such as the internet. Knowledge is more widespread, so this will naturally cause some individuals to become obsessive over it. The biggest weakness in this is that it will develop large egos, which is why INTJ's need to calm the superior attitude and replace it with pure ambition for a purpose. Ego is always an enemy, but it could harm INTJ's in an extreme as it would cloud the logic and understanding they have.

      Have you read "Hard Times" by Charles Dickens? The father essentially conditions the kids to be emotionless and rational. So as much it is a result of society, family can heavily influence it as well. I can relate since my dad just stripped me of all colors, so for the past few years I've been in a phase of INTJ.

    • @tatjana7008
      @tatjana7008 5 лет назад +1

      I become INTJ before internet just because of books and curiosity to learn something. And to be in good terms with other people I must act as if I am not so smart and more like they, but after some years I sincerely sick of it and not gonna push me down just to give them feeling we are all normal

    • @Scoring57
      @Scoring57 5 лет назад +2

      Yodeling Muppet
      I've always been objective never about "superiority". If I feel like I'm smarter than someone I might be tempted to say just that if the topic is intelligence, mainly for the fact that its true and nothing else. Objectivity. A lot of the people going on with this "superiority" stuff and people being "feelers" just sound like psychopaths to me. Being arrogant usually doesn't end well and I think most intj's know that or eventually they learn that at some point in their lives

      MBTI types are established by the early teens. They are unchanging in the course of your life.
      INTJs are very good at determining what they know and don't know. That isn't arrogance and it certainly isn't ego. It's a repudiation of nonsense in favor of fact.

    As an INTJ, we are weird creatues. We're introverted, but we can turn on our extroverted side when it benefits us. We also spend way too much time in our heads either planning things out or just thinking about things that interest us.

  • @kat6500
    @kat6500 4 года назад +7

    I would argue that many INTJs love philosophy sort of as a way of understanding why we are like this or understanding other people. Some things can’t be proven with straightforward sciences. Most INTJs (including myself) use philosophy as a tool to use to better question things (like when you used the face of nietzche in the video). This video was very accurate almost creepily so

    I'm an ENFJ-T, my best friend is an INTJ-T. I'm beginning to understand her much better! We've known each other since 2nd grade and we were so inseparable as kids, but she moved away for a few years and since then, we've been a bit more distant while remaining very good friends. As an extrovert, I love talking about surface level things AND emotions, but I also greatly value deep conversation. She has walls up and I don't necessarily know how to get closer, but I try every now and then to discuss deeper things with her. I'm glad that I'm getting a better grasp of how she thinks and feels now
