I will say that he was a fixture in Vegas each time we went. And my mother loved his “Delilah.” Reduced my mother to tears. And a personable man. We went one December and he was just hanging in the hotel’s lounge enjoying a cigar. My mother talked to him for about 15 seconds but it was the joy of her life. He hugged her and thanked her for being a fan.
Thank you so much for this entertainment delight! He died right after he finished his book. I don't have many regrets in life, but missing a live performance in Vegas with Danny is a true regret, so this is exceptionally special. A sincere note to celebrate this world-class talent.
I had the privilege of seeing Danny’s show a few times. He was absolutely one of the very best shows on the Las Vegas strip. I later helped open the Encore which is where the Danny Gans theater was built especially for Danny’s show. Sadly he never got to perform in 5hat beautiful theater. Danny was the best.
Oh man this is great; actually not so much great, as fluctuating between great, amazing and incredible, and it even when it takes these dips into merely great, it's like he's jumping down on a springboard to soar into those sublime moments. Maybe everyone will have their own favorites, but mine are the Tom Jones "Delilah" rendition, the Bobby McFerrin "Happy Birthday," the Sarah Vaughan "Send in the Clowns" and the Louis Armstrong including the trumpet and singing equally. The Happy Birthday, after pretending he's not going to bother, them singing it with all-too-brief 10 seconds of utter over the top sincerity and feeling (and sublime intonation and McFerrin sound effects), enunciates so powerfully CAROL DORSEY.... just so obviously wanting to give her an incredible moment, and saying the name with such obvious care..... well, all those moments are now unforgettable to me -and speaking of unforgettable, Nat and Natalie Cole.... oh my goodness. They don't make them like this anymore because they never did. Utterly unique. And that his amazing heart comes through in every note, seeming to overshadow the raw talent, as if that is even possible.

By the way, his imitation of Elvis singing hallelujah shows his great talent!!
He was for awhile the biggest draw in Vegas, but hardly ever appeared on TV for some reason. Sadly passed away too young.
12:02 a Bill Cosby testimonial did not age well.
Had the honor, and loved his show.
