Many thanks for the rich history it was said Trench town was created by a large trench that was covered and settlers built on it. Now am hearing that a Daniel Trench owned the lands from the colonial days. Amazing!!
Wow that awesome 😊
Surprisingly, there's a district in Abidjan (Ivory Coast, West Africa) called "Treichville", which in English would translate as "Treichtown".
If I ever visit Jamaica, the first place I want to see is Trenchtown
Do it and a lot of other cities on The Mighty Diamond in the sea> J A A‼🌞🌿
Treach Town!
3:57 The 'Wilson' part of Higgs & Wilson was actually Roy Wilson. Delroy did not get his start until a few years later. Thanks as always for these uploads!
Trenchtown is like some mythical place to me, I've heard about it in so many songs. Thanks for teaching me some real information about the place
I want to visit ❤😂
Brilliant clip - perfect! what an amazing job compressing such a big subject to 8 minutes... with so much detailed useful info. I'm in awe as usual. Thanks so much.
Ledatape! Nice to read from you. Thanks mi lion 🦁 Glad you like it
Joe Higgs is a figure historian should mention a lot more. He taught music 4 free !! I can even image how many youth he saved from the streets.
Trenchtown makes me think of poverty and struggle as sung of by Bob.
The influence of the church and Christianity had also a major influence on reggae music .

Many thanks for the education 🙏🏼💜 also a 💧
Come to your senses everyone on the planet..
most problems just caused by arrogance and fear.

Blessings from another ocean ✨🌏
Bless up, Rastafari,, 🇱🇨👊🏼🇯🇲👍🏼♥️🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯☝🏻
First thing I think of when I think Trenchtown is The Heptones.
Good topic! Thanks for this. Do you have a video about Ernest Ranglin, Monty Alexander and the kind of music they developed?
I concur! Ernie Ranglin and Monty Alexander
Great suggestion!
Nashville is the hub of country music. Memphis and New Orleans the home of blues, soul and rock & roll. Motown was black music polished to suit white tastes (and therefore watered down).
Thank you for mentioning Joe Higgs again. ❤💛🖤💚🙏👏🫶🌟👑🎤🎶🇯🇲🌎 #Joe Higgs
Always!
How did white & Chinese get there ?!
yes, higgs and wilson was joe higgs and roy wilson, not delroy wilson
If only the craze for building 'homes' i(ie, small spaces you couldn't swing a cat, that are rented out immediately or are left empty so that the greedy ass builders get their money for building the empty shells that no sensible person wants to live in as it has no proper facilities like a GP surgery, school for any age you can put your child in, or damnit, PARKING! ) If any of the London developments (with the exception of Meridian off White Hart Lane, and that sound ain't so great IMHO, i'm sure people out there love it, but RIP Lukey, you was a cute child and I'm sorry you died that way) gave any of this kind of output it wouldn't be so bad...
Are you okay ? Lol
Bred, you always bust out a video right for my breakfast 🙏. I specialize in Asian-mexican fusion dishes, I'm wondering are there any Mexicans or native Americans in a yahd? I'd like to know what happened to the Indian tribes that used to live in Jamaica. HIM bless you and thanks again
Hail H.I.M. Native Taino populated the island before colonisers. They mixed in with escaped slaves and formed maroon communities in the blue mountains that still hold firm to this day. If you ever visit JA make your way to the blue mountains.
@louispalmer3383 bless you Louis I.
Rasta people's was in Senegal long time before they transport slaves to Jamaica
