Hey Pete you should really look into the “RPG Style Inventory” mod all it does it change the ui in the gear tab to be a lot more readable especially on a quick glance which is what we see in the videos
Another 20 minute teaser. Dang, Pete's video's are SO good. Makes me always so sad when I need wait another few days for another. :( I wish other people could makes series like this, if just to help pass the gap between Pete's video's ^^'
If you want to watch other current Rimworld desert shenanigans, I suggest either Delgar3 and his "Lucy" series and/or xwynns and his Extreme Jawas series. If you are looking for lots of content, Yeti is worth a watch.
@@wawagabriel I personally dislike his old videos because he didn't have a good mic back then, but some of his slightly more recent series are cool custom ones.
You are almost to 6 planting which allows you to plant trees for wood! Can I suggest that you still capture pawns that you don't intend to keep? Here are some of the benefits: You get medical experience bandaging them up (disable using medicine though). You can level up social. If they attempt to escape, you can level up shooting or melee, and then level up medical again healing them. Finally when they have healed, take them to the nearest town that buys slaves and sell them for a few hundred silver (or 3 royal faction). Even if you don't want to feed them you can still capture them, heal them, and release them
@@Nietsewitch It is indeed, but now that kibble reserves are looking ok, one could argue that at least getting the doctoring exp would be worth it. After all Pete could release as soon as the prisoner is able to walk again, and get some precious social exp in the process.
Your Rimworld videos should be prioritised over your others during these times Pete!! Your narrative and gameplay is just out of this world. We need MORE!
I’ve noticed shots like that in my own rim worlds. I think as soon as the shot is fired the game determines wether it will be a hit or not regardless of visuals 😂
Steak can't hit a gaggle of raccoons but my expert shooter with archotech eyes and 19 shooting can easily blow off my melee pawn's arm when aiming for a mechanoid the size of a bus.
I love the series! Suggestion, if Steak has nothing to do, it could be worthwile to smooth some floors, when that is available to him. Would get his construction leveled and beauty of the base up.
also some deconstruction on the remnant buildings around would provide building material to get rid of the flammable steel walls. But I gather Pete does it his own way.
Pete is probably trying to keep wealth to a minimum so Steak doesn't have to try fending off 3-4 man raids by himself, and smoothed stone contributes a surprising amount of wealth per space.
I enjoy the videos of Pete especially because he - comparing to many other steamers/players - always shows respect to the game-characters and talk politely to/about them - not only in this and the previous rimworld-series, but also in the sims3-completion. although sometimes he has to do some necessary brutal things to/with them, it makes me much more comfortable to see how they are treated generally. I think it also tells a lot about the lifestyle of the person who's playing.
Such an excellent narrating voice! For some odd reason, I can easily imagine Pete saying the following line: "Apart from his pay, which is considerable, Fett demanded only one thing." ;)
After discovering your channel and binge watching the entire Ice Sheet survival series, it's painful waiting so long between each episode, but based on the incredible quality and commentary over each episode, I gotta say that I'm always anxiously awaiting the next post! Thanks for doing this Pete, loving the series!
This kind of challenge is most dangerous in the very early game, once you've set up some reliable growing zones and know you won't starve, all you have to take care of is not to get too rich while neglecting your defenses or you might get events that you can't handle.
Absolute, 100% best Rimworld videos on RUclips. Perfectly narrated and edited rather than the rambling stream of consciousness (which is good for fast action games) that's usually found in RW vids.
Now that you've got a good stockpile of kibble it may be a good idea to disable raw meat from Steak's diet. Saves having to manually disallow individual meat stacks.
Gets everything ready to cook dinner... see that Pete has posted a new video... roommates look questioningly as I start putting ingredients back in fridge... I say "You'll have to wait a bit, Steak is on the telly."... roommates very confused.

Hey Pete, saw some of the comments about how soothing it is to watch your videos because of your voice and started wondering what you do for work because you've mentioned you're not a full time youtuber. I'm sure plenty would agree with me that you would be absolutely perfect for voicing documentaries like Planet Earth and the like. As always, keep up the great work you do and we're all looking forward to the next entry into the series.
I love seeing this desert base slowly flourish. I think this is a turning point here, maybe it's because of the Gutworms being cured in the last ep. But you ever were blessed with cannibalism!!!
Having finally caught up to the current state, I can say, thank you for doing this playthrough! Your commentary is a pleasure to listen to, the editing makes this very easy to watch, and the calculated decisions make this a very interesting Rimworld experience.
You should buy 2-3 psychic tea. It could be usefull if you're in a very bad situation and Steak is in extrem break risk for a long time (which could be very bad).
