Hey there all you beautiful people welcome back again for another video with the melting Muppet. Today I do my Biggest heaviest ingot coming in at over 20 kg. An awesome addition to the stack but at the end of the day there's really nothing I can do with it except have it as an expensive doorstop. But that doesn't matter I love it anyway. Quite a few melts in today's video as you'll see so sit back relax take a load off and I'll see all you awesome people hopefully on next Friday's video. Have a sensational weekend and take care👋🏻😃
hey @bigstackD Here is some info to find zinc in Australia. www.ga.gov.au/education/minerals-energy/australian-mineral-facts/zinc#:~:text=Australia%20today%20has%20more%20than,Hilton%2DGeorge%20Fisher%20in%20Queensland. Hope this helps
My absolute favourite channel on RUclips for more than two years. Now I’m retired, scrapping and melting has been my hobby for a year; I learned everything about melting and pouring from BigstackD.
@MontanaCheeky, true that! Three must have elements to my Friday. BigStackD, Curtis (and Karen) at Cutting Edge Engineering and Johnny B for spicy memes.
Cheers bigears muchly appreciated 👊😁. Ill have a great weekend now that I got rid of the Dugite trying to get into my bloody shed again! 2 snakes today and the big one got away unfortunately . I'll be keeping a close eye on my little monkeys for sure.
I’m thankful you didn’t get caught in the zinc explosion, because that would have been pretty painful. I can imagine the doctor’s notes: “Patient presented with several 1-4 cm second and third degree burns of the outer right elbow and upper forearm. Patient states that he was attempting to melt metal in a small furnace and miscalculated with his measurements, creating an explosion of zinc and its oxide that made contact with his arm. Patient’s burns were treated and a laboratory test was ordered to investigate the possibility of zinc poisoning. Patient was sent to the laboratory to have blood drawn for the test.” It would be a fun case study, but I’m relieved that you didn’t get hurt.
Yes it’s a good plan when I have a heap of ingots to cool down enough to boil the water for a few minutes I’ll chuck an egg or two in and see how they go👊🏻😁. And cheers for the super thanks mate I really appreciate it.
Alchemy at it’s purest! Your Nordic gold videos are my favorites, and did anyone else see that chuck of ice that fell on that brick? Biggest, hailstone, ever! Cheers
My dad introduced me to your channel. Its always a mixture of amazement, sadness, and nostalgia watching your videos. Keep up the good work! And dad, if you read this, i love you.
Hey buddy, cheers for the super thanks I really appreciate it and glad you enjoy my videos enough to give a bit extra. I’ll tell you that was one hell of a pour in this video and definitely makes an awesome 20 kg doorstop👍🏻. Thanks again my friend have yourself an awesome day👊🏻.
Lol, great vid brother....AND we got a crow sighting! Both your favorite Ingot and your heaviest Ingot are still about the same color! Enjoy your weekend!
Great melt, as always, BigStackD! That zinc flash was pretty wild. Good thing you weren't hurt. I loved the layers in the bar. They add heaps of character! I'm glad to see Ingot's eye looking better. It almost seemed that Bullion was glad his big brother was doing better, too. the way he nudged Ingot. Thanks for yet another excellent video! I'm looking forward to next Friday.
I always love the editing when you're crushing copper. It looks like you had fun, but I know it was probably time consuming. At twelve minutes in, it's looking like it's going to be another great video
I was wondering what you where gonna do with all those copper ingots. I guess you still want to clean them up. I would love to watch an episode where you make one of the larger bars into a perfect straight and smooth one with a mirror finish all the way round. You know like when you see big gold bars in Fort Knox with the sharp edges
i mean really...you just have the coolest lifestyle!! I started my stack after watching soooo many vids ago and have since started beating steel into shapes too....thank you man just bloody awesome inspiration and chill out vids chur
Engineer here… As always I’m totally impressed by the woodworking! I think the bounce and torsional instability comes from the brackets. I would’ve sandwiched the beam between angle iron with throughbolts. The other flange to be used as anchor points. I think large throughbolts would have played into the heavy modern industrial look better than small strip steel brackets.
Hi there, I’m glad and not so glad I took at least part of your advice. I didn’t try it a home. I went to the neighbours house with beer and tried it… his wife has decided that we’re not allowed to melt things at their place anymore. 😂
Ouch!!! Fortunately the sleeve that one of your subscribers sent you some time ago did its job, the pipe was protected even if the sleeve itself was a bit expensive, it did the job it was made for, protecting the pipe. And so the difference in weight between what you were supposed to put on and what you put on triggered this reaction, luckily you weren't close by and you kept an eye on what was happening to quickly extinguish the gas, well done! 😉👍
For more than a year, I asked for a 10 kilo ingot or Nordic gold. I've been gone because I couldn't keep having my heart broken. Finally...it's finally happened--and he doubled it. Thank youuuu!
Cool content! Loved how you just picked the bits of the top and carried on smelting! 'Nothing to see here' 😆And a cast Nordic of your boot would be sweet! 👍
impressive melting ! One of the best video of this channel, i hope this accident will never back in the future because we love you and we don't want you're injured :) Good weekend for you and the dogs !
Nice video as always, its good to see that you are making longer videos, seeing the whole process and that huge ingot is amaizing, keep up the good work :)
Nordic Gold is my favorite to watch you melt and pour, so this was absolutely amazing for me to watch!! And daaaaamn, that was certainly exciting to see that zinc reaction I'm just so glad you were not standing by it when it happened.... SAFTY FIRST! 😉😉😉 Love from Eastern Washington, USA...
We are watching a modern day Da Vinci. May not be his own techniques but on the whole, the way the video is shot and everything herein the videos, its his masterpieces. And we are watching weekly. Awesome Edit: The pups are his muse.
I love a good explosion just as much as the next guy, but I'm glad you were at a safe distance. That ingot sure looks like it'd be fun to heft around! Thanks for the great video and stay safe!
On safety note, I would place the heavy ingots low near the floor. At some point you will design your outdoor work station to implement improvements. A hinge and counterweight on the lid of the big forge would make it a one hand operation and move you away from the heat. Putting hot ingots on ice is fun to watch, but I imagine a wood box with a steel baking pan floor to hold the ice block and contain the ingots over the ice. Top Tier ASMR!
i dont know how but since i begining to watch bistackD gives to me chiling and big joy i'm very happy that there are such people in the world my friend keep up the nice art and work your are doing i wish the best my friend greetings from greece .
The different tones when cutting the copper pipe reminded me of another RUclipsr. In the back of my mind I heard a voice saying "Let's get this into a crucible... Nice!"
I wonder how long before a fan mixes the sound of the copper processing into a song. The flattening has a decent beat and there's plenty of bell like sounds in the chopping to work with.
I cannot stress enough that the MVP of these videos is that good ol' block of wood! That thing is absolutely my favorite part of these great videos! So underrated! No joke!
WoHoo! Friday! Ingot has a gray beard, which I had not noticed before. He is beginning his senior stage. I just had a wild idea about the big skull you need to make a large mold of it and pour it. It will look like the skull of doom. Perfect addition to the vault for Halloween and beyond. That would be some large pour.
Been a helluva rough week but I knew if I got through there'd be a great melt to watch at the end of it! I appreciate everything you do mate, can't wait to see what gets added to the stack between now and the new goal!
I wonder if melting togheter the zinc, tin and aluminium together at lower temp then add the copper in would increase the vaporization point enough so zinc wouldn't react that much at such high heat. If it's in an alloy, I'm not sure, but it might help.
Wow that was some exciting melts: Zinc explosions, terribly hot extra large triple crucible... but what a result! A humongous beautiful golden Ingot! We sure appreciate all the hard work you put in all week for your videos, it definitely shows in a very enjoyable end product for us!👍 love those sweet pups of yours especially that cuddlebug Ingot ❤
To my best and most favorite youtube poster.... this video was awesome!!! I somehow missed this one a few weeks ago. Probably when I was in the hospital. No worries mate. I found it!! Glad I did too! I appreciate all the hard work you put into it. Love your doggies! Loved the huge Nordic gold ingot. See you again Friday. Cheers!!!
Are you going to be doing any cool molds for weapons again anytime soon? It would be cool to see a giant copper sword polished real shiny! You could colab with maby 2 other smelters and have each one take a crucible and pour a really big one. One person at each section. Just a thought. Love the videos bud!

Yea yea. I was right. We got some Nordic gold guys. LETS GO BigStackd. You the Goat
good video so far just a few minutes in but at 3:40 in the subtitles you did zinc twice instead of zinc then tin keep up the vids
My absolute favourite channel on RUclips for more than two years. Now I’m retired, scrapping and melting has been my hobby for a year; I learned everything about melting and pouring from BigstackD.
Impressed with your discipline that after all these melts you don’t let your guard down and jumped on the gas that quickly
Thats a type of mistake you never make twice
It's not a friday without a bigstackD video :)
Awesome buddy cheers for your super thanks . Muchly appreciated. Have a great weekend.👊😁
Thats true. I am every friday very Happy, that I can See a new Video. Thanks for the Vids♥️

Your sense of humor is only matched by your amazing editing skills. Really enjoy your videos.
Oh, I see your out of beer! Well better send a few dollars to you. Ha, ha had to drink water 😂 pat the pups for me. Great job this week. 👍
Will do buddy , and cheers for the super thanks mate I really appreciate it. Have an awesome rest of the weekend👊🏻😁🍻🐾🐾

Challenge: Hard Boil an egg from the water that boils while cooling at least one ingot. The metal, not the puppa... :P

@@bigstackD No wuckas mate ^_^
I love the layered effect of that big bar. It really gives it character.
Lotta slag and ash fell in though.
@@shadowhenge7118doesn’t help that the layers were cooling quicker than he could pour either
Not only an excellent smelter but an accomplished musician!
Nordic Gold Lasagne! Great melt. I hope you hydrated well. I loved Ingot’s little growls and howls. So ferocious!

Beautiful LARGE bar there. Enjoy the videos. Have a great day
Can someone explain to me why a showbox size gold ingot is only worth 150$ ?
Because it's not gold.
Nordic gold is an alloy of more than 2 metals, usually mainly including Zinc and Copper as you saw, a metal alloy is a composition, while regular gold is a pure element.
