Great topic, but you missed one of the most well known. Mark Twain has a National Forest area named after him in Missouri. There is an entire episode of "Mysteries of the Outdoors" about the region. This is so close to the Madrid fault line (most do not know America has such a huge earthquake zone) that smoke literally steams through the cracks in the ground. Most notably, the "smoking trees" are mind boggling to see in person, the smoke pillows up through the root systems, up the tree and then pours out of any and all holes the trees have in them ! There is both natural and supernatural spookiness in that "park." Caves of ancient artifacts may well be in those mountains too, there is evidence for that.
It really does sound spooky. Also that’s interesting to know Mark Twain has a National forest area named after him. The town I grew up in for a huge chunk of my life has the library named after him. Then again he did spend his last years in that very town so it probably was expected that the people of Redding would honor him by naming a library after him. I actually visited his house in Hartford once but I never had any sense of it being haunted and the land Stormfield is on is, as of when I moved away from Connecticut, in private hands so I don’t know if the ruins have ghost stories attached to them.
Hey SpeakEasy. In Minnesota in the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota. There a woods behind Union Gosspel Mission in Saint Paul. You can phantom pack wolfs or phantom wolf or pup or wolfs. headless man, and girl that sucide. If you guys don't believe me. I've been homeless and stay behind the woods 3 years living behind Union Gossel Mission's behind the woods. I hear weird things behind there. Not just me and my husband notice it. There alot homeless people notice these woods also. These woods is not just woods at all.. you can feel like its you In a different realm. Or different universe or you went in parallel universe. Trust me. It weird. If spent the night like to 6 months to a year.. you can hear phantom pack of wolfs. Even those wolfs don't come by in the city.
I am sooo glad to be back here for a good amount of time. I kept a low profile due to Corona Virus. Thankfully, Minnesota is lifting all the bans in July. Thank God! More comments to come.
