Now that was raw honesty. I appreciate that because that would be a big deal for me, too.

Sounds like you already got it figured out but you can contact Boker for a replacement pivot + pivot screw for $10. They were very helpful.

Good to know, but it was an out of the gate first ever Boker experience. I hope it was an exception but it had made me reserved to try others.

I bought 1 boker and it was blunt as a butter knife out the box

Good to know. I have heard challenges people faced but I’m will try to remain hopeful. I hope this was a one off.

I tried the liner lock Urban Trapper a couple years ago. It was garbage! The liner "lock" failed completely after a week. It had ridiculous up, & down play, and the lockbar would slip out of the way under any closing pressure. It took more force to close an average slipjoint knife than that "lockback".

Well, this was not the greatest experience for me, so I can tell you what I experienced trying to make it work. Your experience does not surprise me, though.

It's because that knife isn't made by reate. One person said it because they saw china on the box and now everyone thinks it's made by Reate and just keep repeating it. Until boker says it's made by them I don't believe it because Reate doesn't use ti pivot screws at all unless they just started. I know this because I asked a designer of a knife I bought that Reate was making and wanted an additional set of ti hardware to do ano work on and they said Reate doesn't use ti hardware on structural parts of there knives. Unless this has changed or boker states it's made by Reate that knife was made by someone else. Also I saw that jacked up knife on blade ops site for a few bucks off and that's not good for a dealer to sell it as is, they should of gotten replacement hardware and sold it used not damaged.

Well, that makes more sense. When the pivot screw was not attracted to my magnetic Wiha screw driver magnetically held Wiha 8 torx bit, I wondered.

@@Robs_Nerdy_Knives not all steel is magnetic, like spyderco uses all steel hardware but never magnetic but if I don't feel it be magnetic I be extra careful. Also shallow hardware is also a giveaway that someone like Reate or WE didn't make the knife because both use amazing hardware.

it's made by Reate. confirmed by multiple people in the business. even the boker representative (ceo?) who goes to blade show and the like
