Mine doesn't work but it still runs normally.... First it doesn't run cuz I have a Japanese 3DS LL so it says I doesnt match the region when I try to run CTGP7 and it also states my game cartridge is an outdated version :( I even updated it on the 3DS and for some reason the 3DS still lets play it normally when I open it in the menu. My data is still there and all regardless if it's a US Cartridge and the 3DS is from Japan. I dont get itttttt lol

I accidentally touched YES on downloading Hshop 1.4.5, and I was worried I killed all hacking opportunities, but luckily it was just for the Hshop. As soon as the game gets updated, I should be able to play it, since I followed all steps 100%. Thank you so much for this tutorial.

The installer is small. Ctgp can take up to 500mb, which can be alot for those who haven't changed the default 2Gb sd card in the 3ds. Also, thank you :)

@@l0ckdowngaming105 if you follow it correctly, it shouldn't. But, sometimes things can go wrong, so I recommend making a NAND backup before starting, just in case. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube. :)

Hi, i'm so late but i modded my new 3ds XL a month ago and i wanted to play modded Mario kart 7, but after installing it, i launched it and it says crush dump...what can i do?
Make sure game patching is on in luma settings. I wrote a reply on a comment somewhere saying how to do that

It could be because of the region of your system, so you might have to make it region free (idk how to do that)

In the characters tab. There is a while file thing you have to do tho, and I plan on making a video about that soon, but I have to fix my ds first lol

I may be a year late and am not expecting a response but do you have to open it with ctgp-7 every time or can you open it with MarioKart 7
Dont worry, this video is still very active and I try to answer all my comments... if you want to play ctgp, you need to open it from the launcher every time, that way, you can still play regular mariokart 7 if you wish 😁

when I go to play ctgp it says "update the console otherwise you can't play" what do I do?
You should be able to update the console, but I recommend a NAND backup. It takes up 3 gb, and isnt neccessary, but if you dont feel comfortable about the like 0.1% chance of a brick, I recommend it.
Question: If you choose Mario Kart 7 instead of CTGP-7 will it boot vanilla?

I have a LEXAR multi use 4 sdhc gb card, when I install it in the computer, it only comes up with DCIM and Nintendo 3DS, when clicking in Nintendo 3DS it comes up with very few things, I am not able to add new folder into it, making this unavaliable for me
Check if the read/write switch on the side is not in the locked position. If you can't tell, insert it in the computer after flicking it and see if it changes.
I got a second hand 3ds (old) and for some reason the American version of the mk7 is installed and I can't launch ctgp-7 because I don't have the right version.
What region is the ds from

When I did updates to CTGP-7 to get more characters, etc it was successful where it was able to restart but when I tried to open CTGP-7 it showed a black screen and I need help for that.

3. Use the dpad to navigate to game patching and turn it on
4. Press start to boot

Booting up mk7 normally will let you play online normally as well. If you boot ctgp, you can play online with custom tracks and characters as well. Might want to do it fast though, as nintendo is shutting down the servers in like 2 months lol

I’m back again 🎉 how am I suppose to get cfw installed before doing this, and also can I still play the original Mario kart 7 online with no issues?
There are many CFW guides on RUclips. (I installed cfw a long time ago, so I don't know how to do it now lol) and once CFW is installed, you can still play mk7 normally, as well all play ctgp7 through the launcher. Booting up mk7 normally after playing ctgp will play the game as normal 😎. Also don't worry, we love regular on the channel! You should come check out my live streams from time to time

Is your mk7 version from Europe? Like a pirated cia of something? That would cause it not to work. If it is pirated, I recommend using hshop to find an american cia of mariokart 7

yo my sd card doesn’t come with one of those tiny things u took out of it it’s literally just plastic 😭
My SD card is a micro SD with a full SD adapter. Unless you've replaced the SD card in your DS, yours should be a 2-4 GB Regular SD card. You also need a full size SD card slot to be Vale to read it.

To play mk7 normally, plug it in to the cartridge slot. Your progress will only delete if you transfer your save data to ctgp.

did you try it with ftpd? i'm trying to mod my 3ds and my microSD card either doesn't fit on my computer or tries to get stuck, and i think it's going to break any time soon.
if the ftp method doesn't work, can i get your computer specs (no, not anything regarding your internet, i only need your internet speed thats it) and the time it took for you to install ctgp7 in the sd card, so i can make a sort of estimation on how it will do on my computer?
I am actually in the same boat as you now. My new PC doesn't have an SD card slot at all, so all of my file transfers are over WiFi now. You can actually install ctgp7 right from the universal updater app. Find the installer and download it. Open it, and it really doesn't matter your internet speed if its an old 3ds or old 2ds model, (Any DS that doesn't have "new" in its name.) As the WiFi speeds will be cut down significantly. If you have a new DS, It entirely depends on your WiFi speed. With my 150-200mp/s on my OLD 2ds, it takes 1-2 hours to download from the app.
@@hazmat_botw i'm using a New Nintendo 2DS XL and thank god we have wifi6 at home, our recent speedtest was 4ms ping, 390mbps download, 270mbps upload so i guess i don't even need to worry about the wifi anymore

@@dman158 you must have downloaded the .3dsx file instead of the .cia file. Try to install it through the ctgp7 installer app from universal updater and see if it fixes the problem

Can I play online without any further Updates after Insalling CTGP-7 Perfectly? I have Mario Kart 7 and when I update it it says finished and on the Software there is no additional download which means I can't update the game, I'm installing the CTGP-7 Mods right now, hope online will work :) (My 3DS is modded ofc with FBI and all that, that's how I installed the regualr MK7 On it on the first place, hope when I finish Installing this, I will be able to play MultiPlayer

Then the server is probably under maintenance... Make sure you booted up ctgp7 from the launcher, and not just standard mk7...

Yes, but the 3ds has a very slow wifi receiver, so it would take roughly 2-3 hours to install. This method takes 20 minutes.
Hey quick question. Would this be possible on android??. You did say that it could be installed directly through homebrew (Though it may take a few hours) but i have a file manager and an SD card slot to insert an SD card.
It can be done on android, but not like this... I don't have a powerful enough phone to learn how tho... There might be a guide on gamebanana

@@Umb19 if you can put your 3ds SD card into ur phone you can easily mod it, but otherwise, you have to use citra on a phone or PC to play 3ds games...

I can install the installer if off universal updater but it takes *1047* FILES TO DOWNLOAD. I simply dont have the patience just to mention i only have a 4 gb sd. Do I need to click A when it tells me to download luma3ds and pluginloader if I already have luma3ds am I fine to click A?

Its a windowed only installer I think. You can download the installer right onto the 3ds from the universal updater app.

If you did the method of homebrew where you change DNS, that might e the issue. If you didnt do that, or you changed your DNS back, I dont know. You can ask in the nintendo homebrew discord.

The ctgp launcher should tell you there is a new update

Someone else had this issue as well, I'm pretty sure it's because the 3ds just had a system update. Wait a few days for the new version of luma3ds to come out, then update your ds, and install the new luma version.

how do i know if i have cfw?
Turn off your ds. Then, press the power button, and hold SELECT at the same time. If you are taken to the main 3ds menu, you don't have cfw. If you are taken to the Luma 3ds config screen, (it's all black with some white, red, blue and yellow text), then you have cfw installed. If you never installed cfw, you probably don't have it. If you want to install it, there are plenty of tutorials on RUclips for the current firmware to install it, and it is quite easy :)
What about citra, Can you make a tutorial for that it's fully compatible apparently.

Afaik, the citric lite version only has 16 tracks
The citric lite version is long gone dude. You'll have to use a nightly build of the android port since the full mod has citra support.

No, it has its own save data. You can actually copy your mk7 data over to ctgp after you are done installing, or you can start with a blank file.

Yes, 500mb is necessary. It is all the stuff like the textures and sounds.

Go to system settings, and delete the ctgp launcher app. Then go to FBI, and delete the ctgp7 folder on the root of your sd card
Can this be done on a laptop as long as i have an sd card adapter?
Absolutely! I actually did this on a laptop. I recently also switched to a chromebook. If you have one of those, you can't do this method, you have to download the mod files. There is a tutorial for that on thegithub I think...

@@okwow46 how many blocks are free on your 3ds? Go to settings, data management, then I think you should see a value on top... Once you give in to me, I can convert it for u :)

Unfortunately, no. My phone is from 2017 (Galaxy a5) so it's not powerful enough to run ctgp. I'll try my best to explain the mk7 portion, but I have no idea how to make ctgp work... download citra from the play store, and find an mk7 rom online. Load the rom into citra, and boom. Mk7 on android

This is not patched, and it will auto update directly from the 3ds :)
