That's pretty cool what your doing with the pack. I have two of them they are made to clip on the CFP-90 Pack. They we're originally supposed to snap on the back of a LBV in the late 80's when they we're experiment with them. Their are pictures online if you dig deep enough. The way you have it on top is how they originally had it snap to the cfp-90's. They are uncomfortable for sure, but the straps you put on should be much better. I keep one on my car. Love the bits box for mods, I do have a couple of such crates. Nice update for the IIFS bag, I might use mine for something more than a car break down bag. CFP90 ruck I like but I’m always wary of the shoulder attachment, carry’s well thought.🤞
I've got an IIFS pack - the whole thing . The problem is , if you have more room you pack more shit in it . That makes it even heavier . I also have a large ALICE pack and frame . I had the regular ALICE pack in the Corps and thought it sucked . I've concluded that any way you have to hump a pack it's gonna suck . The large ALICE was given to me and it's almost new . It can't be used without the frame unlike the regular one . My plan is to pack only what I need and hump it out to the truck . However I have a large pack with a frame if I really need it . I'd rather drive to the pack than hump the bloody thing .
The cfp90 patrol pack(the one in your video) was designed to have its straps to slide in to the lbv88 over its shoulder straps. You undo the e buckles and slide the pack straps in to the slots on the lbv88 than rebuckel. It's now integrated with the lbv88. I was issued this set up back in 90ish.... (bad memory ) but it is ok with the lbv88 vest just to dam hot. It wasn't all that great of a patrol pack. Using the alice pack as a patrol pack was a lot better (more room for m60 belts) good video I have 3 or 4 of these things laying around may give it a try thanks!
@@Aporqpyn yeah it's rather simple. If you look on the vest shoulder straps you will be able to figure it out. Used the iflc aka lbv88 and cfp90 ruck in Korea durning the sumer and winter. It was nice in the winter but dam hot in the summer. The aluminum staves on the ruck broke. So I went back to a large alice and used a medium Alice as a patrol pack.
i keep everything. and sometimes there will be a broken or torn up piece of gear for sale cheap. i buy it and gut it. also, there is a field repair kit that used to be easy to find for bucks or so. not so plentiful nowadays though.

Load bearing capability sounds great until until it's so heavy you can't stand up .

I’m definitely gonna try attaching a cfp90 patrol pack to one of the lbv88 vests laying around here. I’d never heard of doing that before.

Thanks for giving us a tour of the IIFS. Can't afford an IIFS and will stick with my old Alice pack which is pretty affordable.

The ilbe is 100% the best… if you use the hip belt. So only with out armor… sadly… too bad we almost always wear armor. For you it’s perfect though

Good video! I have one of those patrol packs and use it in the same way on top of a large alice pack. Looks weird but adds some storage.
This may have given me the idea to turn these in to a smaller version of a field medic bag
