This is wonderful, I have been thinking of this song within the last week! This is perfect timing, and I really like your teaching style! Big thanks :-)
Good video. Also, sometimes I add a 5th-fret A on the high string (using my pinky) to begin some of the stanzas. It's mimics one note (at least) of Alun Davies' part.
Thom, excellent choice. Can't play this one but I've loved the Teaser and the Firecat album for 50 years, still have my original album and 8-track. I was nice to be reminded of it again this morning, thank you.
I've personally never found any finger picking to be simple, so this is next level amazing for me. As are you for showing us so well. Stay Well Groovy One.
Ha! Hows that baby!? Thom are you sure you aren't one of my dear departed but reincarnated band buddies from high school? The synchronicity that exists between us in song interests astounds me at times...I had this record album (yes vinyl!) playing when I got the "Bell" on this vid! Yuseff/Cat was/is a remarkable talent...oft underrated by many, but never for long! Ciao amigo!
hi mate - have you heard 'for your love' by german tech pop band CHILLY ? I just heard it and the solo and riff blows me away ? Best unheard of solo ever imo - wondering if you knew of it ?
Well, beautiful - definitely. Most beautiful - unlikely. "Sad Lisa", "How can I tell you", "Moonshadow" - IMO Cat Stevens has much better songs than this one.
Good god, man, enough with the hyperbole. It's a lovely song, but it's really not even the most beautiful song out of the 10 tracks on the album, let along from his whole career.

Cat could make the simplest melodies sound gorgeous.
As soon as I saw the title I knew which song this was about. Cat Stevens is the man!
Incredible song ❤
Very well done.Ive played this song basically like you for 40 years on my guitar.Never gets old.Teaser still holds up 53 yrs later.
You, Sir, are a most gifted guitar instructor! Such talent and enthusiasm! Thank you.

Excellent. You’re the best! Thank you for that beautiful song.

This whole album brings joy to the world. Thanks for sharing this.

"How Can I Tell You That I Love You" is great, too!
I just learned this song! It is indeed very beautiful.

Great video as always. Wouldn't you like to do a video of The Entertainer covered and played by Richard Smith? Would love to see you do this.😀

His best album, in my opinion.
Very interesting. Thank you. One day, can you play with Willie Nelson guitar? (With hole or not!)
Never heard this one...he had a unique sense of harmony and melody
What make guitar are you playing? Very nice sound.
Great to see fingerpicking on your site brilliant stuff....how about fpicking on your riff series..that would be cool
Great song! One of the first fingerpicking songs you’ve learned me!!! Hope we sone can play it together friend…
Great and positive learning experience. Funny seeing a 3k guitar without a trust rod cover 😂
Thank you for the lesson. Can I ask what version of the Taylor you are using - it’s absolutely beautiful!
If I'm not mistaken that's a 814ce. I have one as well...great guitar.

Yeah, Sad Lisa and How Can I Tell You are amazing gems, 2 of my "must learn" songs from many many years ago!!
This song is absolutely heavenly!!
