    Everyone that makes guitar lesson videos on youtube should use this format level 1 and then level 2 and a little more difficult each time. Thats so much easier to understand and it builds confidence. Theres nothing worse than a guitar teacher teaching in a way that is geared toward pro players and they explain it too quickly and play it too fast without explaing the finger position. It kills confidence. I see it often esp with more difficult stuff like hendrix and stevie ray. This was perfect!!!!!

    I grew up playing a lot of Beatles tunes and always learned to use the traditional bar chords for that full sound (making sure all 6 strings were ringing out)... however, when I picked up on the Jimi style bar chord with the thumb on the low E string, it really opened up a whole new world of options. Then, you take it to the next level with his major and minor pentatonic embellishments.... you are playing some mean rhythm guitar. I hardly ever play traditional style bar chords anymore because it just doesn't feel right. Having that pinky free is a "game changer"

      Sadly, he can’t, though Mr. Pilgrim has the talent to go deep into Jimi. The Hendrix Estate Police are always watching
      and they do not allow any of his music to be reproduced or shared online, or otherwise. It’s totally counter to anything
      Hendrix himself would have wanted. His desire was to have his music enjoyed, heard, and played by everyone in the
      whole world along with his underlying message of Love and Peace. “When the power of Love overcomes the love of
      power the world will know Peace.” And that’s a direct quote from Jimi Hendrix. Shame on his Estate. It’s fine and good
      to protect intellectual and artistic property, but when is enough, enough?

    • @larrypower8659
      @larrypower8659 4 года назад +2

      PS ~ They can’t do anything about Hey Joe because Hendrix is not the composer, even though it is his recording and
      his own arrangement. Arrangements cannot be copyrighted and are not considered intellectual or artistic property.

    One more reason to love the Dutch! I'm a young 67 but your heroes were my 'uncles' growing up. Not a musician but a kid from Detroit who found BB, the Wolf and early Taj at 12 or so. Not related, but I certainly hung out at their house more often than Ringos or other pop stars of the day. Still do.
    Your enthusiasm, as well as easy to learn vids are a real great discovery. As is your motto about a wasted day. A true pilgrim is on the road a long while till he gets home. As I look backwards on the trail even as I move along, it's great to hear that loud happy sound of the Guitar Pilgrim on the same road.
    Best wishes!

He did some rather incoherent talk about hooking up with someone's "old Lady" after the concert, but then he did that classic intro and blew the house away...awesome...also he only did a 45 minute set, but I did see Rory Gallager from Taste...used should do a vlog on him he was indeed awesome.

Great job breaking it down (wish I'd had you when I was 12 trying to figure this very song out!- the first Hendrix song I learned!) I say that Hendrix taught me to play because I learned so many of his songs and eventually figured out how to play in his style. He is my fav ever. Jimi's cover of Please Come Crawl Out Your Window by Mister Dylan will make my day, I've not seen it covered yet. Cheers. Also, the 50 year moratorium on Jimi's music comes off on 18 September 2020. However, I've since learned it's only coming off in certain countries. I'd been planning to go to Seattle for this momentous ocassion but this dreaded virus has put paid to that, Boohoo! for now.
