  • Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall met Pope Francis for the first time at a private audience in the Vatican today (pictured main). While Vatican protocol states women meeting the Pontiff should wear black, Pope Francis has done away with the tradition and instead adopted a 'no dress code' policy, a spokesman explained. In line with the 'relaxed' approach, Camilla wore her head uncovered and donned a gold silk dress and coat for the meeting. Both Camilla and Princess Diana wore the required black garments and veils when they met with Pope Benedict XVI (inset right) and Pope John Paul II (inset left), respectively.
