Many people asked if rules changed. Not until European games in Minsk in July of 2019. New rules were implemented in 2016. So 8 points is the tech rule and strangles only in combat sambo. 4 points for 20 seconds pin. First warning is 1 point, second-2 points. Unfortunately (for me) they’re working on 30 seconds ground rule. If that happens they should allow scoring throws on downed opponent, 1 point or 2 if attacker remains standing. What do you think? What other actions should be scored? I value your opinion

Sambo is a versatile sport because it has large amount of techniques in standing position as well as on the ground. Why can't you throw an opponent who's equal or stronger opponent? There are two main reasons. First - you're setting up and doing the throw wrong, and the second you're predictable and everyone knows your moves. In both cases your technique is flawed and something has to be changed. All progressive MMA fighters are incorporating sambo submissions. It's easily explainable due to limited time on the ground ( 2-5 seconds to catch and another minute to complete ). Sambists research the fastest and most effective ways to finish for years. Why does everyone want to finish fast? It's an opportunity to finish in style and preserve your energy. I know the taste of quick finishes like no other. 25 years in sambo, 13 World Championships in which i earned 2 golds, 4 silvers, 1 bronze and most importantly 90% of my victories happened before regulation time expired. I spent 20000 hours

Sambo wrestling is probably the most useful wrestling style for MMA and real fighting. As realistic as it gets.

I'd love to try Sambo out but unfortunately the closest gym is over 2 hours away. I train in bjj witch I love buy I think sambo would be fun too.

I heard that you cannot score points from taking a shot from the knee, such as taking a single leg or a double leg is that true? That’s kind of upsetting to me if it is because the reason why I am so interested in the sport is because it appears as close as you can get to folk style wrestling, which I did all of my life, it’s unfortunate because most wrestling is done from the knee such as a sprawl situation or driving from a shot

It's like saying not allowing strikes in jiu jitsu does not make sense because its not MMA or its like saying kneeing opponent while hes down does not make sense.
