Another book tuber commented to me that she wondered if my having missed out on science fiction had to do with the idea that in my/our (?) generation, girls were not really encouraged to read science fiction. I don't know. But I know that I feel like I missed out on so much--and I truly have been a reader all my life. At any rate, I'm trying now to make up for lost time. I mean, I was reviewing a novel that is being banned here, one that my students adored. I think what was really jarring was that the first attack came from a woman claiming to be a retired English teacher like myself. Incredible! But MJ truly rescued me and restored my confidence. No booktuber would ever talk to another booktuber like these people talked to me! I’ll look forward to hearing your responses to this tag. It was indeed a special one! 😊🥰💜

But that somehow seemed to open the door for some really nasty stuff. It scared me. I hadn’t seen anything like that on other people’s channels. I think talking about banned books hit some nerves, and I was just totally unprepared for the onslaught. But thank you for such an encouraging comment! 🥰
