That didnt work for my Whirpool model but holding down the BROIL button for 5 seconds changed it.

OMG I feel like my life was just saved! Lol, my mom and I tried for so long to play with the buttons and find a solution but nothing was working. Then I did some research online and nothing was showing up, until I took a picture of the stove and did the Google search image thing. I searched up the name of the stove and this video was the first thing that popped up and this is exactly what I was looking for, and better yet, it's a simple short video that gets straight to the point.
