Linus Wärn No Chinese people practice those anymore actually, Taoism, Chinese folk and traditional religion, heaven worship, Chinese shamanism, Chinese Buddhism and many more religions were once practiced, but that was all destroyed by the communist party.
whatayaDO543 I don't think that's true. Catholics were just the latter group of immigrants and those immigrants went to the growing cities of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Catholics in conservative states are just about as conservative as Protestants. I mean if you want to see the ultra liberal religious people it's Unitarians.(protestants)

Interestingly enough, religous rhetoric in government was only introduced as recently as the Cold War. "In God We Trust" was added to the currency and "Under God" to the pledge of allegiance in the mid twentieth century to contrast America with the atheistic Marxism-Leninism of the Soviets.
I went down to Alabama for my grandfather's funeral and our family down their tried to convert us literally at his funeral. People are crazy in the south.
***** Well we don't know for sure if he does exist or if what people say about him is true. The bible can be interpenetrated almost any way you want, that is why there are so many christian religions.
I feel that the reason why religion is so high/low in these states has to do with their situations. A lot of the non-religious states are well off. They manage their resources well and have a decent amount of per capita income. They don't have too many worries and they're doing just fine. But the states that aren't are kind of on the downside. Mississippi and Alabama, specifically, have large black populations that obviously descended from the slaves and the generations of social, political, and economic hardships following slavery like segregation. This is why there are large crime rates and gang members and whatnot. However, it's also the reason why faith/religion is still very prominent in those states. See, the aspect of pure faith lies in hope for a better livelihood, for a better future, for a better everything. It is born out of pure struggle. The Judahites really started their faith after being exiled from Babylon, a time of suffering, and they further solidified their religion after the exodus from Egypt. They even have an entire book about suffering and struggle (the Book of Job). I think that we can deduce from the video that it's only when life gets easy that people begin to give up on faith. They say, "hey, I'm doing pretty well off. My kids are being fed, I'm able to pay my taxes. I'm good. I don't need religion." But in the states where many hardships exist, religion stays because of the feeling of hope that the people there so desperately need.
didyouknowthatiloveyousomuchthatimadeareallylongnamebutmaybejustmaybeiloveyoutoomuchthatidiedtheend! They don't need all of that money and technological advancements. They have faith. Whether you're a believer or not you've got to admit that faith is very important. Notice how poor people are more friendly and giving.
Notice how poor people often riot for better living conditions and due to being molded by religious doctrine often target minority groups and persecute them because they use the religion to justify it. It is seen throughout history. Religion is a backwards coddling mechanism for the week minded and the feeble.
Sir Usopp People need religion or they need belief in their own abilities? Which? I also wouldn't say religious people are friendlier. There are religious people who aren't nice. Idk, man.
North Carolina, my state, is not poor. 16th best state for business, billions in budget surpluses, etc. Plus, two things. The south has considerably lower costs of living, probably half the cost of LA. And most black people live here also.
North Carolina is "best for business"? Thats just code word for "anti-worker" laws and low wages. Billions in budget surpluses? Hell, dirt poor countries in the world can have budget surpluses. Just dont spend any money on a public safety net and treat the people as crap and you have "budget surplus". Low cost of living? Thats mostly a function of housing costs and housing isnt a cost, its an investment. Medicine isnt cheaper in North Carolina. You'll get ripped off in NC as well. Air fares arent cheaper in North Carolina. You'll get ripped off in NC as well. Internet isnt cheaper in NC. You'll get rippd off there as well.
but liberal doesn't mean non-religious. In fact, I would say that Jesus was THE liberal of his time. But well, liberals have lost the branding wars against the forces of evil.

Also, I would like to remind the public that it is possible to believe in God while maintaining faith in science. Old school, mainstream religion does undeniably inhibit this 'new' type of belief but remember, Galileo Galilei (Helio Centricity), Isaac Newton (Gravity, Calculus), Georges Lemaitre (Big Bang), Blaise Pascal, Richard Dawkins (Evolutionary Biologist), Francis Collins (Human Genome Project), and even Charles Darwin (Evolution, duh), all believed in God. Many of them did not fully conform to the strict authoritarian regime of the church but were nonetheless religious. The number of Islamic, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist thinkers, mathematicians, chemists, physicists, astronomers, etc abound as well, some of them changing our understanding of the world entirely. Over two thirds of the world's scientists believe in a 'Prime Mover', the 'one who started the Big Bang', you know what I mean. What I'm trying to say is that in this modern world, faith has to let go of its ancient beginnings and take upon a new face. A face that accepts both faith and science, for one of them is blind and the other is incomplete. "Religion without science is blind, science without religion is lame (handicapped)" ~Albert Einstein.
That's my experience of Utah too. You have the LDS people and the people who have become so irritated with the shenanigans of the LDS Church that they've become turned off by religion in general. Alabama and Mississippi are one of the worst states in terms of education, do you think the fact that they are the most religious states had a correlation with the bad education?
Perhaps you meant third worst high schools in america. www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/news/local/alabama/2014/08/10/report-alabamas-schools-third-worst-us/13854213/
I think it's funny about Alabama ranking as a first place religious state, tied with Mississippi, because that is so contradictory with how the voting keeps the good ol' boy legislature in power. The Alabama Legislature and Governor put so little value on the people of this state and completely underfund the public schools on a yearly basis. Keeping the public schools underfunded is the easiest way to keep the poor (blacks and whites) unable to improve their situations. There's little about honest religious practice actually happening in Alabama, it's still all about keeping the minorities in their place... The 60's apparently had little effect on the grand state of Alabama after the dust settled. If someone wants to argue with the result of low funding vs educational outcome, run the numbers and draw your own conclusions. Being a recognized "highly religious" state such as it is has no ethical benefits for the common people of Alabama. Yes, a bunch of people responded to a religious survey in a certain manner but don't think that all these born-again, holy rollers actually practice what they preach. I'd imagine that this survey was about as good as the 2016 Presidential polls that predicted a different result from the actual results. Religion is not about polls, it's about how you live your life and treat others. If this post hurt someone's feelings, then grab your Bible and actually read it instead of carrying it around for all to see. People should see your religious convictions in your life, not in your hand along with your coffee cup!
They are also really black states. Black people are far more religious than white people. But it is a lot easier to blame racist. Gotta love that sub meta self righteous feeling we all crave. I can see the gears working in your head. "I dislike religious people and I dislike racist so lets combine them." The world really is great when you can make up your own world view void of real world facts and stats.
The public schools teach that religion is irrelevant to our lives. The colleges and universities are staffed by people who think religion is nothing but myth or even that it is just something that is actually harmful to society.
Paul Simmons completely agree used to live in Alabama till I was 10 and now am 14 living in Iowa and that education system religion and live style is so different in Alabama the schools are horrible and bad teaching Iowa has very good schools some of the best in the nation but religion is huge in Alabama everyone believes in Jesus and you can talk About it in class In Iowa if you talk about God everyone bashes on you and nobody talks about Jesus or God and then how poor it is in Alabama and Iowa it’s wealthy plus the amount of black people there just is a huge difference
Something interesting about Mississippi is that many of the churches are inside houses, so you can never really know how many there are. For every public church, there's probably 3 or 4 home churches.
Juhmick M but iq is fluid. The poorness and the amount of worship in these states are also a strong correlation. The low iq is probably caused by low quality education. (If what you say is true)
Riley Losoedo ~ Yeah, and the highest in A-holes. I'm 72 years old now and I've lived in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, and California, plus I've spent some time in several other States (Kansas, New Mexico, Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, Delaware, Ohio, Ontario), and I can tell you that the more religious a people are the more friendly they are. So I choose to live in Alabama.
China and USSR have much more atheists and agnostics compared to most western countries. Look where they are right now! Do you realize how stupid your oversimplification is?
011azr i did a comparation between romanians and the iberics, not all the world, i know that China is verry verry atheist, (+30% atheist), buut, i seen anywhere that N.Korea, 75% of the peoples are atheist
Alex1510Ro Only 30% atheists? Are you kidding me? I've been there and it feels like everyone don't understand the concept of religion the same way that most people in other parts of the world do. Look at Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism. It's more like philosophy/way of life than religion. Based on Wikipedia, 80% of them have no religion. Now let's look at where they are currently. Is China an advanced country? Do they believe in global warming?
I'm very pleased to have been born and raised in Tennessee. It has been easy for me to have grown up in a Christian household being American. I used to think these same thoughts about all of America, but remembering what was allowed to happen to Sodom and Gomorrah, I am ecstatic to have my freedom of religion. Thank You Lord for allowing me to be taught the truth of Your love for us even though we are as filthy as we are. I am very pleased to be able to hear President Donald Trump state that we as Americans will strive to "make America great again"!!! On the other hand it is sad to know that some of these states mentioned have forgotten why America was great to begin with and it looks to me as if she has been abundantly blessed by Our Lord and Savior. We cannot fathom eternity.. just think about that. We live in this finite world.
New England, having the most time out of all the US to experience the horrors of religion, what with Salem and other instances, have become the least religious. It's one of the few things I love about living in Connecticut.
I'm surprised Utah isn't one the most religious. There is a church on every corner, in my city ALL of the shops are closed on Sunday, we talk freely about our religion in public school, and everyone prays everyday and goes to church every week here. We are very committed to our religion and our beliefs
It sucks that people have to judge others on their beliefs. Why can't people just let people believe what they want instead of being the l thought police? Goes for both thiests and atheists (though I see it alot more from atheists online)
Yeah, compare the birthrates of the secular population with that of Muslim immigrants to the E.U. and do the math. For example, Muslims will likely be the majority religion in France by 2060.
The USA is blessed for the reason that The Jewish people live there and work hard to make the country thrive = AMERICA IS RICH BECAUSE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE
Honestly people call agnostics and atheists "ignorant" all the time but what about them? How can you be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that god exists without any evidence? That it self is ignorant
TheRagingGamer what? u don't understand what being agnostic or atheist really is then. No atheist say they KNOW there is no god, they just dont believe in a god. All atheists, when u ask them what they know they say i dont know. Richard Dawkings, one of the worlds most famous atheists (also known for hes work in evolution and biology) gives the best example. He says on a scale of 1 to 7 with 1 being u believe there is a god and 7 there is no god, he says he is a 6. I think that gives the best representation and the difference between the 2 questions.
You presume incorrectly. I've lived in Massachusetts all my life. Right near Boston if you must know. It's a wonderful state and I'm proud to be from it.
It's not much of a surprise that the most religious states are mostly Southern, but I thought that Mississippi was generally the most religious rather than Alabama.
seems about right i live in Massachusetts and i'm not really religious and none of my friends are either. I did try being a christian but many christians end up hating me. for actually trying to live as Jesus would so i don't believe anymore
Men can use the ladies room; state legislators taking unconstitutional pay raises; patronage; taxes on mostly everything; illegals get EBT, state-funded drug addicts, murders every day, potholes unfixed, and if either the sanctuary state bill passes or a D-party becomes Gov. in 2018 I'm out!
No state is "best". It depends. If you mean "one of the richest" or "one of the richest by GDP per capita", you'd probably be right, and it is not a coincidence.
whatayaDO543 Well, Catholics in california were the ones who gave the majority vote against gay marriage even though they are liberal. Catholics are very religious.
Right back at ya' from Oregon. Though the state is liberal (thanks in part to all the Californians who moved here) there are still plenty of faithful Christian people in the Beaver state.
In the capital city of Salem where I live, there are a good number of very well attended churches, including the one I go to. This may vary region by region, but from my experience there is a faithful body of believers everywhere I've lived in the state.
If Jesus was only just a cool dude, then it would be wrong to bow to him. But He is much, much more than that. Getting to know Him, and who He is, is completely life changing, and in an extraordinarily good way. If I can help you along on that journey, I'd be happy to do so.
This looks to be related to the friendliness and personality of each state's population. People in highly religious Southern states always seem to be somewhat nicer and more hospitable than in the Northeast.
I drove in North Carolina once, and the local radio played "Our God" , and I bought the song on google play afterwards. Love the song. I am from the number 1 least religious state in the video. I would not have listened to such as song on radio if not for that trip. I am proud to be living in the number 1 least religious state in the whole country.
Texas, my home state, is the 11th most religious state overall. - 64% of adults in Texas are "highly religious" - 63% say religion is very important in their lives - 42% say they attend worship services at least weekly - 63% say they pray daily - 69% say they believe in God with absolute certainty
About EU - it is not true that East and South Europe is more religious and NorthWest less... (even though briefly it correlates), but I am for example czech and Czech republic and Estonia are the most atheistic countries even though they are normally considered so called "Eastern Europe". So for example even though there is a similarity in cultures between Poland, Czechs, Slovaks - it does not show up in religion for example.... Poland is very religious comparing to the Czech republic. churchpop.com/2014/10/09/10-maps-religion-europe/
Would like to see states ranked by IQ scores ... and then compare that list to this one. I'll bet there is a very strong correlation: religious state = low IQ state.
+iVex Which source is that from? The image shows no legitimate citation to which can be linked to a correlational study. Not only must the credibility of the source be looked at, but sampling must additionally be accounted for.
The image is a representation of the findings of this study. www.ttu.ee/public/m/mart-murdvee/EconPsy/2/McDaniel_2006_Estimating_state_IQ_-_Measurement_challenges_and_preliminary_correlates.pdf
People claim science make people not believe in a God. But it has made me believe even more. Once you realize the complexity of the universe. You can't possibly say an explosion made it happen. There must have been something that caused that explosion or guided the creation of the complex universe
TheRagingGamer I don't understand the big bang theory very well. You understand it less then I do. Don't draw you're conclusions form an incompetent understanding of something.
Eddie the Head it only takes logic to come to the conclusion that the big bang happened because of something. And there are a million non religious answers to it and one simple religious answer. Any could be valid because we have no way of knowing what happened before the big bang. But we can theorize...
I live in Louisiana. We good out here, they may have some people who struggle & are poor but for the most part people love it here. Every single day I meet new people who move here from all other states.
Christianity promotes love, and other good human traits that everyone should follow. I don't know why anyone would hate that. And yes people make it sound bad, just like you can make anything sound bad.
Dank Bartolo Not really you project "love" and other good human traits onto it. What it actually promotes is a pretty horrible master/slave relationship that ends with everlasting hell fire for most of the human race. But whatever at lest you're not doing as much damage as you could be so fine believe what you want.
If you make a country comparation, you'll find that almost 99% Chinese don't believe in any religion ,and some Chinese can't understand why these foolish theories can make people believe them, well I stand with these people.
really, well, can you give official statistics to prove that? You told me that about 100millions Chinese are Christian, and that must be the most interesting joke I've heard this year.Well,I admit that there are some chinese people having religious faith, but the number can't be a large one from my own experience.
Well,I'm not a communist, but I breathe freely in China.Don't believe what the media and political figure said ,come to China and find out if China is like the hell which you heard from the media.
josue Nogueras Communism is not a regilion, is's science. To be honest, I don't believe Communism at first, but the more I learn it, the more understand why Communism will replace the capitalism one day.I'm not be brainwashed, that's the truth.
Yeah, we don't agree with "Preistcrafts" (the teaching of the Gospel for money) either, but the LDS community is in the minority. There are religions out there that do NOT have any paid clergy. I'm just saying. :)
I lived in Salt Lake, and you, mormons are pretty intolerant and nasty towards atheists and agnostics alike. So yeah, I have the right to berate you for such behavior! What goes around comes around.
If you'll notice that Mississippi (along with other Bible Belt states) are the top religious states but rank lowest in economy and education. California is one of the lowest religious states and ranks very high in education and has the largest economy in the US (6th largest in the world). This goes for countries too. The higher ranking in religion, the crappier the nation/state.
Do countries next. Curious to see where my country would end up.
Good idea, I'll look into it. There may not be as much data...
If we don't count ancestor worship and folk religion yeah. Same with Japan.
Linus Wärn No Chinese people practice those anymore actually, Taoism, Chinese folk and traditional religion, heaven worship, Chinese shamanism, Chinese Buddhism and many more religions were once practiced, but that was all destroyed by the communist party.
I've been to China and seen them worship all kinds of deities. Also there are stats en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_China#Statistics
+Orange is the new black China has seen revival of folk religions. Chinese who identified themselves as atheist might practice Chinese folk religions.
When you live in Mississippi and you already know Alabama and Mississippi is about to be top 2
Exactly XD
5Star Same
I think we all knew...
That's exactly what happened with me.
same
So you just named 10 Republican states and 10 democrat states
well, new hampshire voted republican in the last election but they are the least religious so
Kush MasterB Alaska?
Josue Nogueras and Wisconsin
josue Nogueras lol ik. I'm just saying those are swing states and not too religious.
Kush MasterB Alaska is a republican state, Wisconsin voted Republican in 2016, Trump won a district in Maine and he came close in New Hampshire.
As a West Virginian, I can confirm we are very religious. It's hard to find someone who isn't religious.
emo band mashup I'm from Washington, but I live here and am atheist. Do I count anyway?
Troll Breaker I didn't say everyone was religious ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So the more Religious a State is the more likely they vote Republican ?
Tell that to Alaska
Chase Schultz Giving the sex phrase, "yes, daddy" a whole new meaning. 😀
No, no you got it wrong. Religious just means Christian.
MassacMongo99 you know there is a difference between correlation and causation right?
So you doubt there's a correlation between Christianity and Republicans?
The more liberal the less religious.
Not accurate, is protestants vs catholics, in general Atheists are pretty moderate, some are even conservatives due to past reasons.
damn liberal protestants...
whatayaDO543
I don't think that's true. Catholics were just the latter group of immigrants and those immigrants went to the growing cities of the late 1800s and early 1900s. Alaska....
education is the silver bullet
Massachusetts houses both Harvard and MIT, I'm assuming that's not a coincidence.
ikr
Sohaib Baig Harvard was actually founded as a Christian school

moonman - No, I meant to point out that two of the most prestigious academic institutions of the entire world are both in a very nonreligious state.
I went down to Alabama for my grandfather's funeral and our family down their tried to convert us literally at his funeral. People are crazy in the south.
Harrison Buckshot They do that because they care about you and don't want you to have eternal suffering.
if God exists and forces skeptical people to burn for eternity, than i'd rather go to hell than hang out in heaven with such a cruel creator.
***** Well we don't know for sure if he does exist or if what people say about him is true. The bible can be interpenetrated almost any way you want, that is why there are so many christian religions.
MHM EEKK Lying once is enough justification for burning forever? Okay...
I could have made up a story like the Bible when I was 10 years old. It's ridiculous!
Meaning: even the less religious states are quite f.ing religious.
Gr8 Incarnate On the other hand, you were brain washed to believe that from your fellow peers
Gr8 Incarnate Well you did just state your beliefs. Am I wrong? So, your statement does not make any sense at all nor does your brainwashing peers. :)
Ryan Walker You seem like a person about as smart as a brick wall.

Carlos Rivera Fernandez you can see this trend in poor and rich countries. The poorer a country is, the more religious they are
Chandler Short America is very religious and they are the wealthiest country in the world...
Owen Funk just because the country has a lot of money that dosent mean that its people have a lot of money
But I'm poor and an atheist????
Owen Funk its on a decline though
Has anyone noticed the the most religious states are the poorest

A side-by-side comparison of the ten most and least religious states in America. Where's your state rank?
8th WOHOOO OKLAHOMA BABY I AGREE WITH ALL OF THIS!!
50th MASSACHUSETTS BABY OH YEAH!
+The Daily Conversation You didn't do Minnesota but i really don't care
The Daily Conversation I see you were too ashamed to keep your election prediction up. Whats the matter, did something not go as you hoped? :)
Where does this list come from? I expected Utah to be on the list of most religious states.
Thank 'God' I live in Massachusetts
Glad I live in Massachusetts as well.
And New Hampshire for me
MA as well. New England is the best
#Massachusettspride
I didn't even expect us to be 1st lol, I am actually proud of my state.
holy crap i can't believe Texas wasn't there
Trexas is seeing a lot of people move in from other states so they become more liberal.
Texas has been becoming a lot more liberal over the years. Where I live in Houston, it seems like there's still a lot of Catholics though.
Lots of Catholics, Muslims, couple Synagagues, lots of babtistes and Hispanic/latino Christians but all are usually pretty liberal
but liberal doesn't mean non-religious. In fact, I would say that Jesus was THE liberal of his time. But well, liberals have lost the branding wars against the forces of evil.
Thats what I was thinking myself. Californians always criticized Texas and now they are coming to Texas.
Huh, the more North ya go the less religious it gets. I guess the Cold makes you not believe.
nexsixtynine thritynine And don't forget a better education! :-)
*indoctrination. heh.

And the more smarter it gets ;)
Or, this is a crazy thought. But maybe less Christians live there?! Might take awhile for you to wrap your mind around that.
ZFOM Or maybe look at why less Christians live there?
I'm Christian, but I still respect everyone who has and everyone who doesn't have a religious affiliation
I praise this video for being so unbiased or critical of any side. Presenting the facts plain and simple. Thanks.

Mississippi and Alabama are poor and like third world country. Massachusetts and New Hampshire are rich, successful and happy state.
New Hampshire is good. Massachusetts is far too liberal.
Yep. Extremes are simply bad.
liberal states are crime ridden. chicago is the great american example of the faults of liberalism.
Blank xx000 Chicago didn't even make the top 10 for crime or murder statistics in the last 2 years. Check the facts before you offer alternative ones.
BNJT people are dying in the streets every day in chicago. big problem. you should know better.
Why isn't UT on here?
Well... now that I come to think of it, generally you are either religious or hardcore non-religious here.
That's my experience of Utah too. You have the LDS people and the people who have become so irritated with the shenanigans of the LDS Church that they've become turned off by religion in general.

Dude NJ right here!
Neither is MI

Im mormon :) not fron utah. Im from korea :) i dont know why you hate our church we ar very friendly people and care.
Alabama and Mississippi are one of the worst states in terms of education, do you think the fact that they are the most religious states had a correlation with the bad education?
Alabama is 3rd highest in high school graduation
abyssinia4ever good to know, but inflated or not there's no way in hell they're at the bottom of the list
Perhaps you meant third worst high schools in america.
www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/story/news/local/alabama/2014/08/10/report-alabamas-schools-third-worst-us/13854213/
abyssinia4ever that's old. that's several years old.
It's not even three years old yet I doubt Ala. has improved much if at all in that time, especially after the graduation inflation scandal broke out.
To be honest Alabama is a literal hellhole. I would rather live amongst people from Massachusetts than Alabama.
My Clever Nothing and why is that
you must be living in Montgomery, buddy
My Clever Nothing how is Alabama a "hellhole"
It's Iced Compared to where I lived in Toronto, Los Angeles and New York, the country side I live in feels like hell
My Clever Nothing then why tf are you living in the country?
Paul Simmons Alabama isn't as bad as you say it is. It is beautiful!
I live in Alabama and I can't wait to move
I'm surprise Utah isn't top 5, there's more churches than there is restaurants!
8Dwillalltheway I know I'm Mormon and there is a church every block!
Clearly, you've never been in Mississippi.
Something interesting about Mississippi is that many of the churches are inside houses, so you can never really know how many there are. For every public church, there's probably 3 or 4 home churches.
I bet those churches are empty
TheSnapback how?
The IQ correlation is strong with this one
Citation?
Juhmick M but iq is fluid. The poorness and the amount of worship in these states are also a strong correlation. The low iq is probably caused by low quality education. (If what you say is true)
Juhmick M in that case you must be from Mississippi!
Juhmick M
Ironic hahah
Do some research kiddo
I'm form Denver Colorado.... and i love Colorado....
I half the year I work in California so I know denver
Riley Losoedo ~ Yeah, and the highest in A-holes. I'm 72 years old now and I've lived in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, and California, plus I've spent some time in several other States (Kansas, New Mexico, Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, Delaware, Ohio, Ontario), and I can tell you that the more religious a people are the more friendly they are. So I choose to live in Alabama.
pls do same question with Europe (Romania is verry high at religion)
Yep, Balkans and eastern europe is most religious, while west is least
JoshTheAnimator the number of the atheist peoples is much bigger in Portugal and Spain tham in Romania
So happy to live in Massachusetts!!!
No
Time to move to Massachusetts
liwyatan666 time to move out of Massachusetts.
liwyatan666 I need to move out of Massachusetts lmao
Or New Hampshire
I'm surprised Massachusetts is one of the least religious states, considering their history. Does anyone know why?
You'll love it here, I promise
The amount of effort that you put into your videos is just outstanding! Thanks for making such intriguing content!
The map on the thumbnail looks a bit like the election results for the 2016 presidential election. And that's probably not a coincidence.
I'm that 29% of people in Louisiana that is not highly religious at all💁🏼
I'm very pleased to have been born and raised in Tennessee.
America was founded as a secular nation. There is no official religion and it was never even be a Christian nation. Learn your facts right!

AMERICA HAS THE TORAH AND HOLY BIBLE
when the least religous state of america is still more religous than your country :) :)
The Netherlands fuck yeh
The Netherlands... Lucky...
Yeah... We know what to do with churches.... Overhaul them into a Sushi restaurant... (yes we do)
America is seeing a sharp decline in religiosity, particularly in Christianity. I would expect the numbers in this video to be outdated in 5 years max
yeh like 3% of population
why? please elaborate
New England, having the most time out of all the US to experience the horrors of religion, what with Salem and other instances, have become the least religious. It's one of the few things I love about living in Connecticut.
Glad I live in Massachusetts.

I'm surprised Utah isn't one the most religious. There is a church on every corner, in my city ALL of the shops are closed on Sunday, we talk freely about our religion in public school, and everyone prays everyday and goes to church every week here. We are very committed to our religion and our beliefs
In case of countries , Saudi Arabia is Most religious and China is Least religious(70% confirm Atheists)

Nah. As long as you're not insulting agnostic/athiests I'm perfectly fine.
As long as you are not religious its fine

Come back to this comment in 10 years.
and i live in alabama and am more athiest then richard darkins and christopher hitchens combined.
It sucks that people have to judge others on their beliefs. Why can't people just let people believe what they want instead of being the l thought police? Goes for both thiests and atheists (though I see it alot more from atheists online)
Jack Griffin Definitely
when in your country 2/3 of teens are atheist/agnostic
Congratulations EU 👍
Sorry
I hope it's not ironic
Did you mean Europistan?
Don't worry: 2/3s will be Muslim in 40 years.
Yeah, compare the birthrates of the secular population with that of Muslim immigrants to the E.U. and do the math. For example, Muslims will likely be the majority religion in France by 2060.
Could you do other comparisons between the 50 states
The USA is blessed for the reason that The Jewish people live there and work hard to make the country thrive = AMERICA IS RICH BECAUSE OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE
JEWS DO IT PERFECT ALL THE TIME
ALWAYS BE IN GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH THE JEWISH PEOPLE THAT IS MANDATORY AND IMPERATIVE
Honestly people call agnostics and atheists "ignorant" all the time but what about them? How can you be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that god exists without any evidence? That it self is ignorant
Radmehr beig heidari how can you be so sure God does not exists. Both questions can't be answered.
how can you be 100 percent certain a farting ghost goat doesnt exist??
CHECKMATE ATHEITS!!!!
Radmehr beig heidari i bet u never picked up a bible. nor know what Faith or Grace is

Typical christian response : "U JUST DONT KNOWWWW!!!""
Yeah we do. That's why we are smart enough to see it's flawed beyond a doubt.

I like how idiots turned that word into meaning "thing I don't like"
It's not much of a surprise that the most religious states are mostly Southern, but I thought that Mississippi was generally the most religious rather than Alabama.

The more Religious, the Lower the average State IQ is.
Citation?
not Bama buddy
Are you saying black people have lower IQs? That's not very nice to say.
thats because the more religious, the more democrat strongholds there are to try to make the state less religious.
Atheist are also pretty dumb they have no reason how they were created
Massachusetts also happens to be the best state in the union. Is this a mere coincidence? Probably not.
Massachusetts is far from the best state.
"best state"
Let me stop you right there. There is no best state, plain and simple.
No state is "best". It depends. If you mean "one of the richest" or "one of the richest by GDP per capita", you'd probably be right, and it is not a coincidence.
Houston Texas is the Buckle in the Bible belt.
Not surprising that the poorest states also tend to be the most religious.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is King ~~! Salutations from Mississippi !
Jesus seems like a cool dude, but I wouldn't bow to him.

CodyORB I'll tell you this: the religious states have both some of the best and worst people in the country.
I drove in North Carolina once, and the local radio played "Our God" , and I bought the song on google play afterwards. Love the song. I am from the number 1 least religious state in the video. Texas, my home state, is the 11th most religious state overall.
- 64% of adults in Texas are "highly religious"
- 63% say religion is very important in their lives
- 42% say they attend worship services at least weekly
- 63% say they pray daily
- 69% say they believe in God with absolute certainty
About EU - it is not true that East and South Europe is more religious and NorthWest less... (even though briefly it correlates), but I am for example czech and Czech republic and Estonia are the most atheistic countries even though they are normally considered so called "Eastern Europe". So for example even though there is a similarity in cultures between Poland, Czechs, Slovaks - it does not show up in religion for example.... Poland is very religious comparing to the Czech republic. churchpop.com/2014/10/09/10-maps-religion-europe/

Eddie the Head it only takes logic to come to the conclusion that the big bang happened because of something. And there are a million non religious answers to it and one simple religious answer. Any could be valid because we have no way of knowing what happened before the big bang. But we can theorize...
Sir Monkeys isn't it a basic scientific principle that something cannot come from nothing? I always thought that was a big flaw in the Big Bang theory

Christianity promotes love, and other good human traits that everyone should follow. I don't know why anyone would hate that. And yes people make it sound bad, just like you can make anything sound bad.
Guess what, they make it sound bad because IT IS bad. HA!! Didn't see that coming did ya?
Dank Bartolo Not really you project "love" and other good human traits onto it. What it actually promotes is a pretty horrible master/slave relationship that ends with everlasting hell fire for most of the human race. But whatever at lest you're not doing as much damage as you could be so fine believe what you want.
Dank Bartolo I'm an atheist and I don't see anything too wrong with it. I just think it's pretty weird... No offense.
