as you rightly mentioned to play the lob/flop shot it all depends by the ground.In South of Europe where I live , during the summer, this shot is very difficult to play as the ground is very hard and the club head of the wedge bounces back exposing the leading edge of the club.This is the perfect receipt to thin the ball specially if you play with high bounce wedges
Do you apply the same technique with a pitching wedge from about 40 yards out? Or more of your normal swing. Thanks.
I would go more normal pitching technique. If you need to stop quickly, more loft than a PW
