Hi, you dont need to move your folder, just rename it and when you open the game it will create a new one, I always do this when i dont wanna move big folders or for backups.
Are you trying to copy the ENTIRE Sims 4 folder? You shouldn’t have to, just files and folders relevant to you within the Sims 4 folder. Namely mods, tray, saves, and screenshots/videos (if there’s anything in there you care about in there). Also the usersettings file in the main folder if you did the early purchase incentives unlockables. As the ‘unlock’ code is saved there. I usually copy just these over to a dated backup folder then selectively replace on a reinstall. Or (if I need to) after an update. Also do you have a tester save? You don’t need to make a long term marraige/commitment to it but its a save you feel safe fully opening with all mods turned off and/or no mods installed. Don’t worry about changing anything in this save or how much you like/dislike the townies and houses in this save. Who cares about the EA builds, you won’t be playing here long. It exist FOR TESTING without mods and without ruining or affecting your main save. To make one start a new save randomize a sim, throw them in a house, and save right after hitting the world map. This save should be created with mods OFF or uninstalled. After an update or change I will use this save just to see how the game is running without interacting without anything but itself (mods either uninstalled or turned off). Play for like 10-15 minutes doing anything you want. All good?…Don’t save, who cares, just exit. reintroduce the mods folder -open the TEST , do some playing see how it goes. Again, don’t save!!! Even if your mods are updated they could either have a newly introduced conflict or maybe a modder made an error. They are single coders as well often with only themselves for checks. Script mods are the most likely to mess your UI up. also, having a safe-to-open duplicate of your main save (don’t start progressing in it) allows you to play test before moving forward in any save you care about. They double patched yesterday so I am intentionally playing offline for a bit. I have given up the gallery because I had a renovation of a gallery Rec Center in progress in my save and needing to do all my update day checks would have just derailed the process n that for my new base save I am working on. So no gallery access for me for a couple weeks by choice, I have enough to do without explicitly needing the gallery yet. When I am ready then I’ll allow the update and do a round of mod cleanup.
i get the feeling of not knowing how to fix somtbing that shouldn’t be an issue but i’m also struggling with my gallery not connecting 😂 it’s a mental pain.. also i first noticed the issue after origin turned to EA
One thing you could try is using the command prompt to move the file, though I'm not sure why it would be any different from moving the file with the file explorer but it's worth a try. And even if it doesn't work, you may just get an error message that can help you. Assuming you have windows, just a quick rundown of what to do: 1. Press the windows key then search for command prompt, then start it as administrator (I'm not sure if admin is needed, but if it doesn't work this way then I don't think there is much else you can try.) 2. then all you have to do is to type in this command: mv you can copy the file path from the file explorer, make sure that you copy the whole path (I don't have my pc with me rn so I'm going off of memory but I think triple clicking on the path at the top next to the search bar will select the whole text, you might have to type in the file name after that manually in the command). Oh and leave out the symbols, I just put them there for readability's sake. If there are folders in the filepath that have spaces, you will probably need to add quotation marks, because otherwise the space breaks the path.

Oh gosh!! I used the gallery yesterday and it was fine for me. Tho I saw the red x’s when I was looking at packs on the main screen the other day, but it wasn’t over every object. Hopefully the upcoming update helps it!

honestly it is just SO frustrating
I can't even launch the game since March I have been playing Sims 3 or 2
It is your whip whip banding is your broadband connection is weak you need to ring up your broadband company and have your band width increased
