This is the set of E Torx sockets amzn.to/2Mfs9Tv that I bought for this job, worth having in your tool kit and very reasonably priced. Don’t forget to subscribe if you’ve not already done so.
great video. really think your channel could be the one for punto lovers, the market is out there. hope to see more. I would love to see video on how to fix a front seat that doesnt fold forward. really struggling to find info on fixing that.
When you say doesn’t fold forward are you talking about a 3 foot car with front seats that flip to let people in the back or the manual wider that moves the seat back forwards and back?
@@PuntoHowto yes I mean it won't allow it so you can let people in the back. You pull up on the handle and nothing. Just stays upright
Arts&Trusts I can’t say what the specific problem is with yours, but my recent heated seat video shows you how to take the seat apart and this would give you access to all the components that allow the seat to go forwards, there are some cables that allow the seat to ping forward and maybe one of your cables has snapped
great vid, i'm curious about how much torque to apply when tightening the bolts back on. is there anywhere online that gives this kind of info for evos?
I don’t know where you’re based but best advice is to invest in a workshop manual like Haynes then it usually carries all the torque figures for things like this where needed. Calliper bolts don’t need to be super tight because the force on them is sideways or a ‘sheering’ force so they need to be tight so as not to stress the bolts but don’t need to be torqued down to high levels I usually nip them up nice and tight by hand
@@PuntoHowto I'm in the UK but a total amateur when it comes to cars, so still trying to get to grips with everything. But I was considering getting a Haynes manual anyways, so that seems like my best bet. Thanks for the help though
Good guide, thanks! Going to attempt this job at the weekend. One question... which point are you using the lift the car with the trolley jack?
On the back of the car I usually jack off the point where the rear suspension is bolted to the car body
Would love to see rear brakes job. Also do you plan to do a coolant flush and change. That seems to be a rare RUclips video for grande punto.
The basic version: 1. Open the radiator drain valve near the front left tire, 2. Use a small handsaw blade (pencil-sized) to loosen the plastic bleed valve at the top right of the radiator, then remove it with a ratchet wrench, 3. Squeeze the big rubber coolant hose until no more coolant drains out, 4. Close the two valves and fill the reservior up to max with distilled water, 5. Drive around with heat on MAX and fan at ZERO for 15 mins, 5. Let it cool down for 2-3 hours, 6. Repeat steps 1-3, then close the drain valve fully, 7. Fill it up to max level with a 50/50 mix, 8. When it starts to spill from the bleeder valve, close it fully, 9. Continue filling until at max level in the reservoir, 10. Start the car, and fill again to max level, if needed. It should take 5,27 liters of 50/50, but in practice there's always a bit left inside the engine, so you'll probably refill about 3,5 liters.
Check Fiat Forum UK, guides section for Grande. A lot of details.
gonna help a lot m8 thanks
No problem, you take care !
Nice❤❤❤❤
Can I perform this job without bleeding the brake system?
Yes
Hi thanks for the great video's. Do you know how to remove the glovebox Punto 3 model? Thanks.
Yes, open the glove box, there is a little tab at the bottom/back, you have to pull this out and it releases the glovebox as it’s one of the pivot points for the glove box. It’s hard to explain but hopefully it will give you an idea of what to look for. This is genuinely something that might make for a helpful video to make
@@PuntoHowtoHi thanks, yeah it would! ;-) They changed it from the grande punto. Do you also know how to run a power cable through the firewall grommet? I'm having trouble finding it.
rutger sprong I don’t, I’ve never had to do it, there is a route through from under the bonnet to the door area as I use this route for my trickle charger but I’ve not explored any further than this
@@PuntoHowto ok thanks anyway!
Is this a 1.2 or 1.4 I have the same colour but 1.2 but I have a little problem aux belt it start squeakily like hell when flipping water leaks on to in when starting up in the morning 🙄
It’s a 1.6
PuntoHowto what no way I can’t find one with that engine do u have the same problem when water leaks on to the AUX belt
Liam Horn no I don’t, the 1.6 diesel is a completely different engine layout to the petrol engines, however a new belt and tensioner is not very expensive and a not to difficult to replace
There's a pipe that fiat sells which takes the water away from the alternative.

Can you help me please.
I’m not really sure what you’re asking or what is the symptom of the problem you’re encountering P181D is a fault code which suggests a problem with a gear position switch but other than that I don’t know what the issue is you’re having

How to reset service due reminder in fiat grand punto
You need to plug it into a computer or get it done by the dealer, you can do this yourself with a program called ‘MultiEcuScan’
Wrong. You don't want to push old dirty fluid back to the reservoir (and ABS unit)!
Drain it via the bleeder valve.
