I want grey locks when I get older, that’s why I’m not cutting mine at all. Great video as always
I have decided to let mine turn grey when I turn 60. Still waiting... 😊
Shalawam I am on Team Grey. I'm two months into my loc journey. Thank you for this inspiring video.
Keep talking to us about locs, short or long. Loving this.
The shells are called Cowrie Shells and you install them with a small Bobby pin...
I just started my loc journey and my hair is all silver. I’m so excited I wish I started my journey years ago...
I want to see more on grey locs...PLEASE❤
I'm three months into transitioning to gray with my five year old free-form locks. This was very positive and helpful. Thank you.
I had grey locs for 5 months... To be honest I thought I was to young for my hair to turn this grey but I have finally accepted it and now it is what it is.... Hi I'm 41 and I have grey loc lol
Woaah thats amazing! Glad you’re rocking them grey now 🙌🏽🙌🏽
@@TPLlocs How can I submit a photo? This is so beautiful, and relaxing to watch!
My hair has been gray since I was in my 30s. My locks are all gray... I can’t dye my hair and I’ve been told I’ve inspired more women to embrace their gray hair 👩🏿🦳
Jah Blessings Queen....as a member of the free form grey/sunbleached natty dread squad I salute you,and the Kings and Queens you featured.
Starting my locs, over again. After damaging them by bleaching them....blonde. This time around, no color/bleach of any kind. l am allowing my gray hair to flourish. I must say, I'm liking the salt & pepper colors. 😎
I found the 1st strand of gray hair when I was 13 in my edges, it runs in the family and it has progressed over the years, I'm now 42 and about 80% gray I just started my locs 2 weeks ago and I'm loving the loc life.
Wow thats amazing Shana! They will look awesome!
Glad you featured gray locks, that's what I requested. Thanks so much, only 10 mo in, but wanted to know what they have the possibility of looking like ..
They are so good!
Very Righteous, I look forward to my Locs turning grey. So far only my beard is grey. Very very Righteous video, it was a great motivation for me✊🏿
Yes I'm apart of the grey crew 2 jus lately accepting grey now i luv luv them 💜💜✌✌♾loc'D
RIP Toni Morrison ❤️ a beautiful woman who had beautiful locs
Thank you 😉 I'm in the grey team, all mine 😘
This is my third "lock" journey (caucasian natural curly) 7 months in.. although, I just sperated some into 2-3..ouch btw 😁 Random sections, crotched.. Again ouch hehe..
I so regret not letting my friend lock my hair in 1973, when I could've had so many more.
If you want to shine with any LOCKS, I say DO IT!
SHINE BABY, shine 😁✌️💛 I love loving a more natural me.
COOL vid, I really get them and look forward to more!
Woah thats amazing Kare! Welcome to the TPL family 🙌🏽😎

TPL you did it Team Gray Locs so real...

Corelle 🙏🏿💗
We havent done one on Toni Morrison yet! Added to the list 🤓
GREY LOCS, ON A DUDE IS SO SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXYYYYYY!
Her grey locks are beautiful
😄😄😄I love dread locs! very stylish! The older they get the better, your hair grows and grows, low maintenance, looks beautiful on mature women of color, envied by the racist, it's just a perfect go from earthy to professional style type of hair. This videos is wonderful to.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Difficulty I have with my grey microlocs is that the grey-white edges in the front seem to not want to cooperate with the rest of my hairdo. They are unruly, tough, and have a pattern of their own; but at the same time they are the most delicate hairs.
I'm just starting my grey locs. I am so happy to find this channel for encouragement.
Love u x
Something about the last brother. He looked soooo good to me!!!!!!
I'm 56, about to be 57. Beard is 80% grey, hair is slowly starting to transition. I have always embraced mine. I'm watching these videos bc I'm gonna get some grey locs put in, while I still have hair...😁
Many thanks for showcasing 'silver foxes'! My own locs are 2.5 years old and are salt and pepper (meaning both silver/white/grey and black). The majority of my locs are shoulder length, but I'm growing out my undercut, so those locs are more silver/white and are approximately 2 inches in length. Thanks again for really great loc videos!!! Blessings...LD
silver foxes, I love that!! Your locs must look phenomenal!
Great video as always. I will be bias and say, the guys locks were awesome lol. Enjoy this day!
I totally agree
My husband has got some beautiful grey, golden colour locs. He started going grey in his 20s. They look so regal.
Wowow! They must look beautiful!
Great video. I have freeform locs from my original self maintained locs. I have had my locs for 16 years and stopped twisting 2 years ago. So my look is definitely my own. The top front is white. The rest is black with grey sprinkled throughout. Vant wait until it is all grey.
Peace
Shells ..... they r considered cowries. They r a part of African spirituality
Interesting! I will look into them.
I have mixed grey waist length sisterlocs that I've been growing for 16 yrs. I enjoy the versatility of having longer locs however, retightening them takes me about (3) 4-5 hr days every 6 weeks.
Omg so am I understanding you correctly that you retighten your SLs yourself? And it takes you 3 sessions, each lasting 4-5 hours each??? Wow that's dedication right there! I must say that I'm so looking forward to my own SLs growing to those kind of lengths (currently they are approaching bra strap length). But I think I will leave the strain on my loctician. My right shoulder and neck would protest very loudly after a few minutes into the first session 🙈
@@marciajohnson1825 yes you are correct. It takes much longer to retighten yourself. I paid for years to have mine professionally done because I was working, and I didn't have the time. Now that I'm retired I do. I still feel it's worth spending that time once a month vs combing out and detangling my type 3c 4a hair after each shampoo. Personally I enjoy the freedom of wash and go with my Loc's, and not having to use any type of chemicals which get absorbed into my body.
I'm four days in with salt and pepper hair. I'm excited to see the transformation to all Gray Locs
Hi I just started my loc journey as of March 17, 2020 made 5 month's. I did have my hair colored dark brown by my styles before she did my 2 string twist. But my gray is coming back as I expected it to. But I'm embracing it all I don't have any plans on putting a color on my loc's no time soon. Maybe once my loc's or completely locked if than. Because I have a long way to go before I get to that stage lol. I just joined a few day's ago and I LOVE all that you share !!! Thank you very much I also just started documenting my loc journey on RUclips. I enjoy watching everyone videos so why not document my own kmsl. I'm learning and I'm taking it one day at a time kmsl. Again thank you be blessed as well as safe.
That's nice can,t wait get Grey locs
Three months loc’d and graying 🙋🏽♀️
Loved this video. Im going on 5 years. Hair is graying. I've loved them since the itty bitty period. Although the so called "ugly" stage was a challenge. I kept it moving and the results are fabulous! How can i be a part of your "loc" reviews?
Karen, I'm certain there was no ugly stage and whatever your locs was transition to at that time looked good on you. ;-)
I LOVE LOCS
I do too
Daaaaaarm....,excuse ma "French".These Boyyyz are HOTTT...,SMOKIN.Who say Wine ain't sweeter,when its older.Gosh....,amma SPEECHLESS.
Yaas! Ma'am🤗
Lovely#grey/silver locks💚
I have grey locs and beard at 42. I started greying early. My love are also two tone from mid section to the bottom still black. I love my look because it makes me unique. The ladies do love it, but that comes secondary. 🤣
Team grey locs locgang ✌🏽🎈🎉
Omg amazing I love it!! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video with me!💎💙👓✌👑
Beautiful ♥️
I have grey locs, 13 years loc'd. I've grew to embrace the grey overtime.
Wowowow, they must look insane
I need to keep my grey
They look great
Glad that I came across your channel, it is so cool! Love the music that you play, also! 👍
Welcome to the channel Jakfrost!
Thanks for this video; I loved it!❤️. My locks are transitional like the brother with the three tones. This is my second set which I stared in on my birthday , may 25th 2010, and they are about mid thigh length. Crown plus about 8 inches almost white; have a few strands of color here and there. Remainder is a variety of light to medium browns with goodies tones. I receive many compliments whenever I expose them, which is very seldom because of a vow I made.
so so beautiful!
I loved this video. Thank you for sharing :-)
They look super young in face and skin
I like to see a video about locks in white, chinesse, russian, etc. people. Thanks and regards.
Yes please, I'd love this too.
Thanks for the suggestion Juan!
With SisterLocks you always have to retie your new growth.
With Sisterlocs you keep getting them tightened for the rest of the time you wear them.
But hey, it’s your hair, you could just let them go, but only the ends you had locked would be in the configuration of the sister locs.
All hair would loc, the job of the loctitian is to guide the form and shape of the loc.
I love ❤️ the grey locs of Toni Morrison and Sonia Sanchez. But Sonia Sanchez cut her locs I believe and now wears a short fro.
Wadjet Yes. RIP ❤️. I met Toni Morrison personally when I was in college. She was wonderful. 😃🙏
My locs are grey and I Love it
Yes Indeed...
They are not dread locs, they are beautiful locs, nothing dread about them.
They are indeed dreadlocs, not beautiful locs
Well liked. I already subscribed.
Hi nice reviews there interesting
Omg you are so cool lol. Charming and funny. I love your channel. Just subscribed!
thank you! Very sweet of you to comment :)
Oooh grey locks on dudes looks hella regal 😎
hey I just subscribed to your channel and wow I see myself in your video. Thanks!! yes I have sisterlocks
Team gray🔥🔥
There are a few ways to add cowrie shells to locks. Several which don't damage the hair at all. I've seen some youtube videos about how to do it.
Love your videos, 19 months of natural white locks blond on the ends just letting my hair go natural color
thats amazing!
Wiz khalifa dreadlock review!!! He’s had his locks for YEARS
Great idea!! Thanks! :D
Dope
I wonder do the curtain match the rug?
Hahahahahaha 😂😂
I am almost 50 and I still don’t have grey hair I wonder why
Bicycle Nomad, Eric Cerendo, is now a Ford Model. He announced it on Instagram. lol
Whoah!!
I just started locing my hair in an attempt to have locs by next summer. Was contemplating dying my now silver/gray hair, but I don't want to use unnecessarily chemicals in my hair. I gave up perms in the late 1990's - transitioning to natural hair. I tried to loc 20 years ago, but my hair was too soft thus locking was impossible. Recently had a stroke and I am looking for less maintaining style.
Some people's dreads are elastic or pliable enough to fit through a kowri shell. Many dreads are not. If I attach a kowri shell to my dreads I use a rubber band.
I’m a newbie to locs just 1 month old but theyre brown and grey at the root... thanks for sharing.. I wanted to dye them but not now... 💪🏾
Yaaas rock em!
Mine are grey at the roots and a bit down the shaft. I’ve been locked for 8 years.
Dark.and lovely..
I have never wanted them. They look good on others though. It seems as though as they grow and get heavier it thins the scalp hair on top. But, anyway everyone enjoy your locs!
I've got 2months grey baby locs.
I've been dying my locs been years and I am stopping, so that's what's happening in some of those pictures. I've been loc, for 9yrs.
Awesome 👍
Sisterlocs: No they continue to go to their consultant to retighten with what SS calls a patent tool and crochet method for the life of their locs that runs hundreds of dollars for a retwist. How I feel about silver/grey/white locs. I am from a family premature silver locs as early as 12 starting to go silver. My first set of locs I let them all remain silver. I was not happy with the size and loc’d again with the natural black. I don’t like coloring my locs often for their health but I am just not ready for the full silver locs yet. I see other sets like in video and have instant jealousy - I will get there eventually.
Can cowrie shells cause loc damage? Yes, if one selects to push the shell up to a thicker area of the loc. However, there are several techniques to using the shells safely. The history them is wide from spiritual, femininity to currency. They used to be used as currency and then degraded for their meaning of prosperity among the list of other significance. I love them and I do wear them as well as other loc jewels and keep them on the end or on parts I can easily place and remove them.
Hair like sheep's wool, I'm only 27 and I already started getting grays in my locs
Looking for a reputable salon in the New Haven area , want gray locks
Beautiful locs, but I don’t call mine grey mine are silver. Jah bless
Sejerian lioness because in truth some people actually have silver, grey, white and grey. If I let my hair come in fully it is more white/silver and not grey.
Hi I have SLs (nearly 5 years, and not ready to embrace my greys so still dye them) and no they're not as weak and vulnerable as their size portrays. They are as strong as the strength of your hair already is; so if your hair is weak, or they are poorly maintained then they may be prone to breakage. But isn't that the truth for whatever style or method we use to wear our hair in? It may give you a better insight if you look at a Sisterlocks wearer like P R Charles, who also has a RUclips channel. This lovely sister has been growing and creatively styling her SLs for many years and they are approx hip length. They are absolutely stunning as you will see.
Thanks for the info Marcia! I will definitely check PR Charles out! Very curious 👀

Your voice is dreamy...
I live the bob
Awesooome
Please don't call it dreadlocks. The word dread mean gruesome, disgusting, horrible. There isn't nothing dread about the locs, it's part of your antennas.
Video on this topic coming soon!
No offense to Woopie Goldberg but her locks look as if something is wrapped around them also. We have watched her locks grow over the years so apparently they are real. I'd like to know the process though because my locs are very frizzy
My are frizzy also, I'm thinking it is the texturevof the hair. Mine is semi fine... lol
@@dioneculberson2866 mine is semi fine and tightly coiled. You have made a good point
The Whoopi Goldberg loc review is coming out reaaal soon! 😎🙏🏽
