The "Ukrainian version" is really Russian, as Russian-speakers were in the majority in Makhnovia and Black Army. The rock version is from russian group. The surprising thing is that there is no Ukrainian version of the hymn of the Ukrainian anarchists.
Good vídeo, besarkada from Basque Country 🇵🇲🇵🇸

How's that surprising when Ukraine was colonized by the Russians? There's more English speakers in the United States than in the UK

It's sad that there're ukrainian versions for many other Makhno songs, but not for the most famous one :(

@@aitxol0279 the population of all of Ukraine under Russian Empire was mostly russian-speaking in the cities and ukrainian-speaking in villages, for the most part because ukrainian schools and publication of ukrainian literature in any form or shape were banned since 1863.

@@laytcol The fact that there is already a Russian version of it - and most Ukrainians either speak it or mostly understand it - is probably an explanation why there isn´t an Ukrainian version.

Once my mom and I were talking about how ass most anthems sounded and I said “the anthem of makhnovschina was pretty empowering” and my mom said “yeah but that’s not to empower. It’s made to evoke mischief” tbh I kinda see scurrying around the ground as a little rat looking for little scraps with this music playing in my lil ears
