I am a Laird of Glencoe! This was a present bought for me. Will have to visit the place at some point. Have fun! I was going between Aviemore and Inverness yesterday and saw maybe 15 snow gritters busy at work. Not for the faint hearted to travel at times
That terrain plus the weather makes your point about bugging-out brutally clear. If it was unsafe to have a fire, I'd be lucky to make it through the night. Mind you, I can think of worse looking places to croak! 😂
Looking at moving to Scotland this year.we stayed at drumnadrocit during storm burt, snowed in 2 days Twisted willow fell accross the access track.so snoozed because I didn’t bring any saws with me Travelling back through glencoe slow and steady Definately no glamour in bugging out and I think of myself as quite prepared. Eventually the house we have will be our bug out location
Are we there yet? This bugging out thing is sort of an interesting concept imo. You only have to watch how hard people who are young, fit and experienced struggle to get by in areas that are relatively benign in terms of conditions to see that it's all a bit of a fairy tale for the vast majority of us. History tells us what happens to food species when times get tough in the human world. I have plenty of fishing gear, a 4wd and access to a few fishing options and I doubt I could catch enough to feed us when times are good much less when everyone else is trying to do the same thing.
@@Scottishprepper73 On a totally different note, if you haven't watched it look for a vid. on here about a Scottish reporter and Drop Bears. It's one of the funniest things I have watched and the lady involved is very cool. Cheers.
For 99%+ of the bug out gang it will be a shock just how hard it’s gunna be, I couldn’t do it. Especially when there will be literally millions of desperate people trying the same. Enjoy your holiday Brian, can’t wait for the next video “shtf bug out microwaved Frey bentos atop of a mountain”
Sleep with one eye open up there, the natives have a nasty habit of offing their visitors 😞 Can the van be charged up from the leisure battery ? Agree on the bugging out thing, people are just unaware of how harsh nature can be, especially at this time of year
Van has two leisure batteries , 500 water solar panel, 30 amp victron mppt,b2b and mains chargers. Can charge off hook up and now I've fitted and internal hook up point, I can use piwerbanks in the rear to simulate being hooked to shore power so will charge my leisure batts at the same time as proving mains ,saves using the vans inverter too
@Lee_Proffit no mate, not with the victron units. Ctek do a unit that does but the victron kit is better imo plus I carry a aux charger and a boost pack
Still shorts and t shirt weather mate, what you wearing a woolly hat for 😂. Or maybe us islanders are just stark raving mad, I was out the garden today in me shorts and t shirt with my sliders on me feet lol
Brian looks absolutely beautiful - freezing 🥶 but beautiful. Enjoy the trip and keep us updated
Further up is glencoe and Ballachulish which is stunning , also Kinlochleven
Nice interesting video Brian, enjoy and safe travels back.
Heading further north tomorrow, will try do another vid.
The van looks great Brian. It puts mine to shame 😂
Stay safe with the weather mate & enjoy your trip
Don't matter what is in or outside the van buddy, it gets you out .all that counts.

❤ would that parking area allow a van with a wood burner?
Don't see why not.there is bits to park down the hill a bit as well.
What’s the bug out plan tune playing at the beginning ?
I made it using a program. I'll post it on the channel in full in a sec

Looks a bit nippy!
Thong and beanie hat weather!
Take my hat off to you Brian to brave the weather and cold there.
It's not bad to be honest. This is mild. I've been here when it's been...unpleasant and your on mountain strapped into a snow board lol
I've lived down south too long now I'm regarded as a soft southern Jessie.
@learnerprepper1963 never give in lol
Ohhh I am freezing just looking at you up there Brian. Who singing on intro?
I made it with software for this video.
