They remade diamond and pearl so closely that they literally carried over bugs from the original that were fixed in platinum

    • @charnalk5572
      @charnalk5572 21 день назад +118

BDSP does in fact fix glitches from DP, like Platinum did.
The problem is that people have this misconception that Platinum fixed all of them, and it did not.
They clearly used Platinum as a reference for a lot of stuff, but stuff like Suction cup not working is actually a bug that was still in Platinum (only got fixed in HGSS).

@ChilaAuroraVT there's a difference between creating a remake for the first time and a modern remake after previous successful remakes. And even then frlg had qol content, like new areas, including the new types, nature, abilities, etc. (that weren't present in the original game). So it may be one to one in terms of pokedex but definitely a big step forward in gameplay compared to bdsp

      It is legit AWESOME
months ago i played omega ruby and i LOVED IT
      THE GRAPHICS (promo drawing arts)
THE CHARACTER DESIGNS (2D battle images)
THE DIAGONAL WALKING (i appreciate it so much after pain in gen 4)
THE REUSABLE TMS (such a pain before gen 5)
THE ADDED POKEMON (got a gardevoir and gallade pair early game thanks to the pokeradar, Twilight and Akatsuki (names respectively) were powerhouses with twilight calm mind psychic moonblast shadow ball, akatsuki psycho cut brick break night slash leaf blade that wouldve been impossible early game this nice in most other games)
THE MEGAS (Toro the Swampert, Sparkie the Manectric, Akatsuki and Twilight i just mentioned, Poofy the Altaria and Vanadis the Aggron the only team ive ever played (i always play good ol fashioned way wild catches) that everyone could (and yes i got all the stones) to mega evolve. It was glorious)
THE MUSIC (not as iconic as the oh trumpets but the remixes are quite nice)
THE DELTA EPISODE (lets face it free mega rayquaza is awesome i just wish mine wasnt one shotted by a stupid psycho boost deoxys)
And in my opinion the best part:
THE POKEFUNCTIONS ON THE BOTTOM SCREEN (the stuff carried over from xy are legit underrated. The map is nice and convenient to have always open if you need to keep checking, the radar helps because like xy some caught pokemon can already have heart scale moves (ex this sky attack taillow i caught temporarily 6 min into the game) and repeated pokemon (really helped find akatsuki and twilight given the low rarity of early game ralts), the pokeamie is actually pretty fun with interactive pokemon minigames and the puffs that come in really handy for friendliness (comes in handy for status effects or focus sashing) and tuning the friendship to specific levels (ex evolving twilight while also akatsuki for the kicks of simultaneous evolution), and the best part has to be the training gym area (sure its a lot of spam clicking but for free ev manipulation as early as early game is just nice, came in handy tuning my team towards specific roles (toro, akatsuki, vanadis physical while sparkie twilight poofy special all with multiple types of moves) and the ball shooting 3d moving game is legit worthy as a standalone game, but getting evo stones from simply beating levels is peak, i wouldve otherwise had to wait till after wally pre-e4 to evolve akatsuki)
It’s a great game is what im saying, if only bdsp had a bit more effort, functions, care, anything really

Yeah, I had a lot of fun there too, exploring the grand underground was really cool! And while I haven’t gotten to it yet (mostly cause I dropped the game around the third gym because its BDSP), I saw footage about how they incorporated a really cool way of obtaining Origin Giratina, where you basically do a 1v1 using Giratina to battle against a shadow version of its Origin Form and win the Griseous Orb. It reminds me a lot of the shadow bosses of Persona 4 with not only the actual shadow aspect, but also how the character has to conquer and embrace a darker part of themselves (which, in Giratina’s case, could be it learning to leave its past aggression issues behind it to strive towards a better, brighter future. This could also be something which could also be connected back to LA in the sense that Giratina has finally understood its mistakes from working with Volo to attempt to undo the current universe and, thanks to its bond of friendship with its trainer in BDSP, now understands that people and Pokémon should help each other learn and grow into the best versions of themselves that they can be). It’s little things like that and the grand underground, among a few others, that makes me really think that there must’ve been at least a few people on the BDSP staff that really wanted to make this into the Sinnoh remakes we were all hoping for instead of what are got, which was borderline DP ports. Thinking about what could’ve been had they had more people like that and more time to let the game cook makes my heart ache, especially because Pokémon Diamond was my very first video game and it holds a special place in my heart as a result of that :c

I’m sure in the future, Nintendo will eventually close up the Switch’s online shops. And at some point, they’ll shut down all the current online functions all together in favor of more modern systems.
And there will probably be somebody who gets a physical copy of BDSP and will be stuck playing it without any of those basic updates. The original DP cartridges would have more content than this thing. It’s just such a pathetic wet cat of a game.

You know what I liked so much about ORAS? It's the fact that, after catching/defeating the primals, you can now find unique Pokemon that are not in the Hoenn Pokedex with the DexNav, even if you did not unlock the National Dex. This allows you to either change some of your teammates around or, in my case, make a completely new team, using only those new Pokemons you can now obtain, and use them to finish the last part of the game. BDSP, meanwhile, not only has no new Pokemon you can really catch outside of the original games and Platinum, but you can't even bring Pokemon that are from Gen V or above, making them feel like just slightly more polished (and a bit harder) rereleases.

I'd say the game is more of a remaster than a remake. Despite there being a lack of Pokèmon, you can still capture a somewhat "decent-ish" variety in the underground. Which is unfortunate since ILCA should have just made all Pokèmon encounters and events from Platinum availble to the player. Let alone there is also Pokèball and character customization. Despite that and the lack of HM usage now being put into the Pokètch, its literally just the same game. No changes what so ever unfortunately.
I did somewhat still enjoyed the game due to being a big Sinnoh fan, but Pokèmon BDSP was def a miss in the remake department.

It’s the Dex and encounter tables that drive me up the wall with this game. The Grand Underground was designed so you can get a wide variety of Pokémon early on or even earlier than intended, you get access to an ice room beneath Celestic before you have to fight Fantina, but Sneasel doesn’t spawn down there until AFTER YOU BEAT CANDICE PAST THE POINT YOU WOULD’VE FOUND ONE IN THE OVERWORLD!!! And for some reason you can find the Deep Sea Tooth & Scale down there despite Clampearl not being in any iteration of the Sinnoh Dex; if they were that opposed to putting many of the evolution items in their Platinum overworld locations then they could’ve put them down here, but no, Clampearl takes priority while mons from the Platinum Dex that are in the GU can wait till the post game.
Though, I guess it did do some personal good in the end. I was originally planning to use Yanmega, but that’s not available, so I ended up using a mon I never would’ve even thought of before, Mothim. And now I really like Mothim; I named mine Nubert.

People would have been more happy if they just re-released the original dpp games with more content on the switch and re opened the online play. That would have been hype. Like the original dpp with character customisation, a battle tower, built in nuzlocke mode, maybe revamp some of the old systems like contests and bases to make them cooler. Stuff like that. If they just spruce up the old games rather than remaking them it would be better. Cause. I think if they fck up a gen5 remake there could be riots.

I waited so long for these games. The online community mocked us for believing they would come along one day. It hurts to see the concept art knowing what we could have had versus what we ended up with. Legends Arceus was a decent consolation I suppose but I crave to see Platinum in all its glory, or at least some sort of sequel.

Because we didn't get a remake. We got resold a worse version OF the worst version. But now it looks like a mobile add. And cost twice as much, and it's only half the game AND now we have to pay for features that used to be hosted free, Like online. And a bunch of fun mini games.

Mind you - imagine if they went ORAS route but also added a lot of stuff added in Hisuian lore. Including adding Hisuian Pokemon to the roster. Sure Hisuian Growlithe shouldn't be in grass, but we could still get one from Perrin, giving us essential new fire type Pokemon that would feel natural. Ursaluna encounter from Kitakami would be big thing that could have been added as well.

      BDSP is at least stable.
I literally can't even play the Let's Go Games on my Switch Lite because they're so poorly made that a system that they were literally designed to run can't let me enter the first route without make me measure in seconds per frame.
I 100 percented Pokémon Violet on that thing, there is no excuse for any console game to ever run worse than Scarlet and Violet.
I also beat Brilliant Diamond on it with predictably no issues. I didn't 100 percent it because it was boring, but it was at least playable.
