Is Ilford HP5 400 any good for pinhole photography??

  • First time using Ilford HP5 in my pinhole camera, I normally stick with the slower speed films as I enjoy the longer exposures, but decided to try HP5 400 on a sunny day and also have an experiment using filters which is easier on a faster film if you don't have all day, ALSO made a bad mistake ruining one of my photos completely...

HP5 is good for everything Will, you can pull it quite nicely too for longer exposures. It's very very forgiving

Some great images, my favourite being the snowdrops/ church pic.
If I came home with that one image alone to show for my photographic outing I'd be a very happy camper, and you can always revisit the church for "the one that got away" :)
    Thoroughly enjoyable video as always.

Great video again and great timing as my Ondu has just arrived and I'd ordered some HP5 for a first time try.

Very nice images Will. Which light meter app you are using? I have not seen one with different colour channels before.

Thank you Baran, I use "Light meter" by WBPhoto on Android, best I have found.

I told you you will like the 400 speed. And if you use Foma 400 you will also increase the reciprocity.
Messed up pinhole photos sometimes have a strange little benefit: after realizing you messed it up you do some unusual compensation photography. Like in this case. I really like the photo you made on that street.
