The hard facts are that with Farming Simulator 25, the Logitech G Vehicle Side Panel just doesn't work as well. The game assigns some of those buttons to things we cannot change. Giants needs to fix this so we can bind it as we did in FS22. That said, this video explains how to work around this. Binding side panel S2 to Crane raise/lower bugs the controls and the crane doesn't move at all anymore. Why is that? How can I fix that? On FS22 I would press the grey button and use the stick forward/backward to extend/retract crane arms.
After some digging, I found the files that need to be modified to fix the controls. In your "My Games" folder (for me that's D:\Documents\My Games) you're looking for "\FarmingSimulator2025\inputDevices". In that folder, there's an XML file inputBinding.xml that contains all of the bindings that seem to be loaded by the game. In the parameter "
I found a workaround that fixed the mapping problem for me. In your game folder there is a folder named 'profileTemplate' (I have the Steam version but a friend of mine with the CE has the same files). In that folder are the default settings for FS25. When you use the 'reset' button in the menu it will get back to these files. I just backed them up somewhere and delted them. Then ingame I used the 'reset' button and this will delte all your settings. Now even button '1' has no biding. Now you can either change the settings in the file or just remap everything new. Hope this will help you too

I found the XML file for my device, made a backup file of the original and removed the instruction related to button #1. Then I followed the instruction @Sacharel described. It worked perfectly.
If you open the "input bindings" file in Notepad++, you can delete the lines 48 that controls button 17 and line 103 that controls button 1. After that you can reassign them in game to what ever you want.

My TH8A shifter for example, the "reverse" position I used in FS22 for 8th gear is now HARD ASSIGNED TO THE MENU! 1st time I shifted to there I crashed. 😵💫 I hope they fix this ASAP!
There is a lot of frustration over keybinds in the community for FS25. Something that I will share, I copied my inputbinding.xml file from FS22 and replaced the one in FS25. I didn't have to change any settings. my button 1 on the saitek you mention is hard code, since i brought my inputs over from 22 i have it operation my trailer actions. Copying the keybinds from FS22 might help. One thing I have been telling people is to back up the original FS25 keybindings file before making the change. Also do it early on in the installation of FS25 so that if you need to do a reinstall to fix something it wont affect your game play. For me I have all my original mapping from FS22 in FS25 for: 1. Two Thrustmaster 16000M Joysticks (programed for crane, logging and excavator work) 2. Logitech G920 steering and pedels 3. Logitech Siatek panel ( programed in FS22 for other actions that are not base game settings) 4. G502 Lightspeed mouse For me it seems to all work similar to Fs22 as I had it setup. Saved me alot of time. I've been telling people there is no guarantee just incase as some people have a mix match of different components like Xbox controller keyboard, custom button boxes. Any ways I though I would mention this possible alternative. Also because did this all my equipment is represented in FS25, I know some people have indicate oh this device is not showing up in the settings of Fs25. Maybe my approach might help.
My stick on my side panel broke. I only used it for a few months. Not happy about it. I am going to preorder the new Thrustmaster farmstick on the 18th. I have a thrustmaster wheel and shifter so it will probably work better.
I have the farmstick from thrustmaster and its the same story. Seems they went through the trouble of making all sorts of binds for it, however, they don't show property in the menu and the button binding for FS22 provided by thrustmaster isn't accurate or fully comprehensive.
Has anybody figured out a way to always show the side panel helper box while you’re playing? It always shows the steering wheel buttons, but i’d like to see the side panel mapping instead.

Do you have an issue with the steering wheel directional buttons not being able to scroll thru the menu or shop menu, it will allow it to change tabs but cant go up or down or left or right????
It's not. It's just a think I do. If you want to use buttons like that, just hold a button and press another when you keybind it. It's not a preset thing.

I used the shifter RT as direction forward und LT as direction backward. That works really good, even when I selected the Trailer or another tool

Sorry could you make a video on how to calibrate the saitek control panel from windows? I can't calibrate the joystick when I press the gray button.
The grey button has to be blue for the joystick to work

Yeah, I had trouble with the wheel working pretty much at all in menus. I use the mouse for that.

Id love something like this for ps5, I know eventually I'd get used to using L1 to open optional menus but I'd like to not do that
