No problem! Although there’s some debate as to whether this is actually the right one. The Russians are usually very secretive when it comes to SOPs even if they are fairly mundane
@@CommandT I mean they only have 1 carrier and they barely ever get it working to begin with, so it makes sense why information is so sparse from the Russian side of operations 🤣
I'm not into DCS at all but this was fantastic. Awesome flying. Really impressive how well done the physics, graphics and modeling is in DCS. Fascinating stuff and great video! Real neat to be able to play around virtually with "toys" like this.

At least you can see the deck. ED really needs to fix the deck color on the US carriers. So many real pilots that try it say they can not see the deck lines.
I have an X-Plane 10, and have attempted land an Su-30 on an American Carrier as there isn't an Admiral Kuznetsov Carrier on it, and Twitchy is a Nice way to put it. An F-18 carrier landing is Easy by Comparison.
I have tried many times to perform it and have done it. Its difficult, since the Su-33 isnt as easy to control as the Hornet or Tomcat, but its definetely possible

Well…..this is perhaps the biggest advantage we could hope for in a real world sea conflict. That is the most ineffective use of aircraft carrier airspace I have ever seen. We can land 3 planes to their 1. Unless the Russians have a full autopilot autoland system light years better than ours (highly doubtful!), they will be putting planes into the sea with regularity, especially with a pitching deck. Combine that with a twitchy, low-speed-handling jet and sketchy pilot training and we have nothing to worry about.
Folks, the reciprocal heading here for downwind is 180, not 270 like I said. BRC is 000 :)
Finally someone does it, and thankfully it's from a great creator like you. Thanks for the information video :D
Glad you enjoyed! :)

wow its so chilled out compared to the US pattern, nice long oval. thanks for sharing!

may i get the procedure document? its nice to try
How did you find out about the standard procedure for landing the Su33? I searched many places and asked many people, but no one knows.
This is from a Russian book. It might not be the real procedure but clearly it must have come from somewhere.
Could you tell me which book please?@@CommandT

And yet it blows my mind that Egregious Dynamics (ED) refuses to add Russian Navy deck crew for the Kuznetsov😑🙄😒
Probably not worth the reward for them. Amount of players flying an Su-33 of a carrier doesn't justify the cost of implementing deck crew :(
The carrier is not nuclear powered?
No its diesel.
Great video! Could you link the source for the "Carrier Break" (or whatever the Russians call it...)?
It's somewhere in the depths of the Russian side of the ED forums. Original source is from a book, not an online source. And thanks!
I think the real technique is to do FCLP at a land base, seeing as they don’t have an operative carrier. 🤓

Meatball, line up, angle of attack?
45 degrees.
No ‘meatball’, it seems. Another example of how unsophisticated Russian carrier aviation is. Plus chevron on AOA indicator..one at top means ‘slow’…
Which is the better hud, western or Russian? And why is the western better?
Strange question. HUDs have evolved in the last 30 years... which ones are you referring to?
@@CommandTmy bad, let me elaborate. I meant the symbology, of how it displays aircraft attitude.
AoA indicates you are slow, doesn't it?
