Where I think these 2, especially Alanna was the reason they lost on Sunday despite probably Smiths best defensive night of her W career. Tonight was the reason they won. When I saw Courtney say “lets go” quietly to herself while on camera, I was thinking here we go. She took off. Smith was 3/4 instead of 0/4 from 3 is exactly what they needed from her. I was also really impressed by how tough McBride was as she took it to Maybrey.
Nah bro ur way wrong. The team is responsible. Reality is NO one player can win a championship. Therefore, NO one player is responsible losing a game in a championship. IT's a collective of 5 players on the court at one time with 4-5 on the bench and an entourage of coaches, and support staff that win championships. You gave ur opinion and I respect that but you did'nt outlay one obvious missing detail, evidence. Then it becomes more than just heresay/opinion yeh. And to say and I quote "... Alana was the reason they lost on Sunday" there was no evidence I saw, Alana Smith outplayed but got "Defensive player" on the day?
@@wiremu9876 That’s fine you disagree, and I know teams win games, but I have a ridiculously good case for my claim and I’m happy to show you the evidence. Hear me out. The two players that balled out tonight in a win were the 2 players that had terrible nights on Sunday in the loss. Game 1 Williams and Smith had a combined shooting average of less than 24%, but tonight it was 57% combined with 3 more 3 pointers on the exact same 21 shots between them. 14 vs 32 points. Collier had 19 game 1 with 7/16 and only 9 tonight with a terrible 3/14 shooting. I would never say she was carried, but it’s a good thing these 2 showed up. Zandalasini and Carlton were basically equal to Carlton alone in game one and McBride scored within a few points both nights, she’s a tough player. The attitude that Smith and Williams brought tonight was much different and by them making their shots and more specifically not missing the easy stuff is why Lynx got the W. They brought momentum and toughness tonight (especially Williams) which spurred on the whole team where Sunday they were frustrating momentum killers on offense. Carlton, McBride, the bench and mostly Collier are going to be consistent. The difference in the games against CT, since the games have been decided by such small margins all season, are Smith and Williams. Their nights dictate how close these games are. All that said, there should be less pressure on them in the coming game as I expect Collier to come back with a vengeance in Game 3 and probably get 22+, so they should win again if Williams and Smith simply hold the line and don’t have a repeat of Game 1. This isn’t an airtight case, but as you can see I have no problem standing by what I said.
@@danielgattuzo3065 Hmm well I think I get with the stats on any particular game but u still hav'nt givin' a clear reference point at what particular reason Game #1 where u categorically stated "Smith was the reason they lost"? Like none of them had anything to be proud of in any part of Game #1 bro. Williams & Smith have each got a particular role as does the rest. Coach Reeves has said each player has the opportunity to add value to the team wether it's scoring , rebounding etc so she's not big on stats perse' but collectively the combination of the TEAMS stats which she's pointing out is the only stat she's interested in that wins the game. So combinations which they have is paramount to their overall success. And no individual no matter how good they are will ever have all the required stats to beat a TEAM concept of sharing the load with a higher percentage rate than any individual to win in any one season. I hope that will shine a lot more light on the whole ethos Coach Reeves has introduced from the first moment she chose those she hoped would all buy into what she was creating and she let them convince themselves maybe they will not only believe in there team mates but believe Coach believes in them to implement it enough to know she trusts them. Ur points were valid but the proof still not justified about Smithy yeh.
@@wiremu9876 IDK man. I made a claim about one particular game against 1 particular opponent and showed how those 2 players performances were largely (not solely) responsible for the loss and backed it up with direct reference to the same opponent with the opposite outcome when those 2 players did their job. I guess take it how you want it. Thanks for the conversation either way, not a lot of takers on conversations about W teams that aren’t the Fever. Go Lynx!
Good job court and lan, lynx way to go , alana smith hope you will see this comment please guard and defend thomas dont give her an easy shot. Time and time game one you gave her easy shot in crunch time. In game 2 you allways leave her and give an easy shot please respect her game. Or sheryl put phee on thomas and put smith on bonner. Or hines allen on thomas. If we want to win this series dont give an easy lay up.
Their mindset was fierce tonight. I’ve been following them most of the season and their attitude tonight is what overpowered CT.
Alanna and courtney had great games but it was satisfying to see mcbride dishing it out to mabrey and carrington ,great win overall.
Love this team SO freaking much! ❤ To the top! Let's go Lynx!
Lynx FTW👌👌👌 I'm rooting for this team😀.
First time I've heard Alanna curse but dammit she can curse anytime after games like that!
I’m so glad someone is giving the Sun everything they dish out back to them. It’s about time 😂

Plus @@danielgattuzo3065 the coach agrees with you! Two players that had sub par games Sunday and efficient games today.

Just because the Connecticut Sun yell 'AND 1!!!' every lay up attempt, doesn't make it an And1.
