It's sung after "Come So Far" on the closing credits, but it's sung by the three Tracys, Nikki Blonsky (from this movie), Marissa Jaret Winokur (who played Tracy on Broadway in 2003, winning a Tony), and Ricki Lake (the original Tracy from the 1988 movie). Side note. two of the talent scouts at the Miss Hairspray competition was Marissa and Ricki.
A classic vaudeville finale instigated by Tracy wherein each character who's benefited from the action throughout the musical tells us what they've learned/accomplished ending with Maybelle and then given over to the chorus (society/us) to finish it off. The Von Tussle interlude is awkward, unnecessary and kills the flow.
Personally, I feel the deleted segment should've been kept in. What Velma did throughout the whole film was disgusting and she deserved to be arrested in the end. If any of you watched any of the deleted scenes that involved one of many of Mrs. Von Tussle's misdeeds, you would all agree. Also, at 2:00, that ONE brief shot could've redeemed Amber's character.
"Lock up those Von Tussels, we're gonna shake our fanny muscles" or something of the like. They're similar to the cut Broadway lyrics which include the Von Tussels redemption and THEY'RE the ones saying "Ever since we first saw the sun, it seems Von Tussel girls are always trying to please someone But now we're gonna shake and shimmy it And have some fun today!"
Okay but I love how Seaweed gets in front of Tracy
Also idk if you noticed that amber jumped into one of the guys arms at the end
Is it my imagine, or did she jump on a man of color? 🤔
Here I was thinking it was going to be “blood on the pavement, what a mess / is that you’re eyeball on my dress” from the OBC soundtrack…
Probably better that its not in it kinda disrupts the flow
I agree, we already know Thelma's life is screwed, having her hauled away would have been overkill.
My favourite musical
will there be a version of "mamma I'm a big girl now" with Amanda Bynes, Nikki Blonsky and Brittany Snow too?

What are the alternate lyrics? I cannot understand what they’re saying
