Thumbs up, I feathered my front brake on my 2019 NRG, which is Mint condition, and it was juddering like crazy, this video helped me know which way to hammer round that top lock ring

Nice work👌 It does makes a huge difference. Tightening and lubricating the bearing race is part of regular maintenance.

Does anyone know how to remove the under seat tray/box please thank you

You need to start with the rear rack and then remove the front panel at the front base of the seat. All the side panels need to be loosened.

Both my upper and lower bearings were replaced less than 300 miles ago by the previous owner ....they are now loose and feel the steering wobble and knock on bumps . Anyone can give pointers how to access / tighten these . Thanks

Hi there A.A, the steering bearing must be tightened from new or after a replacement in the time you mention, 300 miles. As part of the general maintenance the bearing should be greased and tightened. This will prevent long term damage from this knocking. You can see from the video the handle and top front end to be removed to tighten. For what it is worth book in to your local scooter Mech and let them sort it out for you..

@@scooterstreetau cheers, I might have a go myself at the top bearing and see if that resolves the knocking. Otherwise will go to the local garage . Been quoted £45 an hour plus VAT ....most of the labour time will be removing the plastics I guess 😀

@@mrbeanz6451 The adjusting bolts are at the top of the stem, you tighten the top bolt and the race is tightened as a whole complete assembly.

@@scooterstreetau thanks. Is this the nut that requires a special tool ( 020055Y) or a standard socket ? Searching online I'm getting that or 2 x 24 mm screws

These frames have weak bearings in, same problem with nexus 500 and Beverley 500, there is a stronger bearing you can fit!!

Hi Hugo, you have experienced this too 👌... We find the bearing race is what fails more than the bearing. The steering bearing must be serviced on a regular interval, this includes cleaning, repacking with grease and then retightening. Do this and they will last much longer and safe too.. The only issue is the frame and panel design does make this a time consuming job.

This X9 had been sitting for years unridden, the race and bearing had rusted the worst example we had seen. It takes a long time, so many screws. 👍
