My favorite Wham song is "Blue". I'm 71 and still listen to George daily one of my favs is a cover he did of Tracy Chapman's " baby can I hold you tonight"
I always listened to Wham lyrics. George was a brilliant song writer. Edge of Heaven and I’m your Man were very sexual. When Edge was performed live on TV they always have the camera above George’s waist when he says “hide your baby’s eyes so we can.....” and the rest of that sentence is filled with sax and George’s swiveling hips. So cool but very suggestive.
Said directly by George himself at a concert, the song Understand is the follow up to Everything She Wants. You have to listen to the song because it tells you what happened to this couple he sings about in ESW. To write a follow-up to a song some 30 years later is absolutely brilliant. The story does have a conclusion and has come full circle.
Wham to meant joy singing along in my room ... So many lovely songs... Brilliant Talented Beautiful singer Thoughtful song writer Well dressed Always .
Besides the obvious tracks I really like "Like a baby" and "Heatbeat" (although it might bubblegum pop). We actually took Last Christmas serious back then and I still love it :-D
George Michael may have been the greatest songwriter of his generation… “Make It Big” is one of the all-time great albums: an egregiously underrated piece.
Well, I always knew Wham's potential despite some of their so called bubblegum pop (which I don't mean in a trivial sense here). 'Nothing Looks the Same in the Light' deserves a special mention here. It is not their well known songs but it is a hidden gem from their first album and my personal favourite lyrically, musically and the way George sang it on the record (it was a very early sign of the real talent that he would become). Even 'Wham Rap' was a genius piece of work- very political if I may add. 'Wham Rap', 'Young Guns' and even 'Club Tropicana' are political satires, believe it or not. However, sadly, majority get carried away with their image and overall presentation and rarely analyse so much. 'Like a Baby' and yes George Michael's personal favourite from the Wham period- 'Everything She Wants' are musically and lyrically very adventurous and complex songs.
My favourite Wham songs are I'm Your Man and Freedom and Everything She Wants. These are not love songs. The lyrics run deep. I didn't like Wham until I heard these songs. George's vocals are amazing on I'm Your Man and the video is so much fun.
Thanks for watching!

The Everything She Wants 12” remix is still one of the best pop records of all time. In my humble opinion.
Nice video! I like Battlestations, Love Machine and Heartbeat
Do a video on Listen Without Prejudice
Wham are definitely one of the top 3 acts of the 80s

No mention of “Last Christmas”?!
I’ve already made a video on the song so I didn’t want to be repeating myself
