- I had the best time during my summer staycation in Chicago. I did a couple of touristy things I’ve been meaning to do for years, ate at some of my favorite spots, and got to see one of my favorite artists of all time perform in two very different concerts. This was so lovely. I have a trip planned to go to Boston. I always seem uneasy at first going to cities. However, when I arrive at the place I wanted to go, I start to relax and simply enjoy it all. It’s strange how our minds can work on us. It is so true about just getting out and doing what ever it is you want to do. I’ve been so inspired by you as much as I have been enjoying your videos. I always go to the movies alone and go restaurants alone...I am yet to travel alone but I love being on my own and enjoy my own company!

Love this vlog I have never visited Chicago I was born there but we lived in Indiana until age of 5 looks like a good trip I'm a introvert I started going to movies,restaurants and local outing alone then I started traveling for work that really got me out of my shell because I was alone in new states and cities definitely my preference because you can do whatever on you're time don't have to compromise where you're gonna stay, eat or activities to do it's all up to you but again extroverts won't enjoy solo travel they need people interaction to really have fun.
As an extrovert I like solo travel on occasion because people are more likely to chat to you if you are on your own then if you are part of a couple. I would have probably spoken to people on the boat tour for sure. Also would have made sure that I was part of a group even if just for a walking tour for part of the day. There are always people to talk to, don’t forget cashiers, waiters, reception staff but only if not busy. Extroverts will always find a way 😉 and I’m a big fan of introverts and admire their more peaceful aura and calmness.

LOL. The comment you made about shuffling out of Soldier Field, reminded me of seeing U2 there a few years ago and it took longer to leave the venue than anything else.
I absolutely love visiting Chicago. My local airport does direct flights, so it's super easy to go for a long weekend. :)
I love Ed!! Saw him general admission for his stadium show in Denver. What an experience. Amazing show. I wish I could have done a subtract show as well!
Jen, I’m still not done with the video, but I used to do a bunch of walking each time I visited the city and recently learned how to use the buses. They are the best! Cheap and can get you pretty much anywhere.

Chicago looks fabulous. My cousin lives there and often talks about the lake, which to me looks massive and looks like the sea. We don’t have any that big here in Ireland but we do have sea all around us in fairness. Ed Sheeran is huge here too. You were so lucky to see him twice. Did you see him in the last Bridget Jones movie? It was a funny part. You inspired me to try a solo hotel stay here in Dublin and it was very good for me, the hotel wasn’t as fancy but it did have a pool and I had a lovely swim before my breakfast and went for a walk along the coast. I came back to my kids after their weekend with their Dad all refreshed and reenergised. It’s really a great form of self care. Thanks Jen for all the inspiration. 👍

Thanks for sharing your travels with us, Jen. I wanted to say about Ed Sheeran that he lives near me. When he had his last concert before the pandemic he gave free tickets to everyone in the high school he’d gone to (staff, pupils and their parents). He also went round his neighbourhood and gave tickets to his neighbours. He also went to his old high school at the beginning of this year to hand out awards at their annual award evening. He was so nice and humble and gave a very motivational speech to all the students. My daughter shook his hand as he gave her an award and the smile on her face was priceless. He’s done a lot for the community around here. He’s a really nice guy.

@@WithWonder I know the noise of the city can be a hassle. I'm originally from the burbs of Chicago. It's easy to get drowned out by your surroundings. But I do love watching you film in the city I frequently miss.

Just wanted to reach out as I was part of your Patreon community since you started. Every month I have been charged AUD7.70 this month Patreon is saying thay my paypal payment is not working. Nothing is wrong with my paypal account. Now they have cancelled my membership with the community and if I want to sign up to your Patreon the price is now AUD9.45. I have tried to sort the problem out but nothing seem to work and I have read reviews that have said that Patreon does this alot cancel your account and start charging a higher price. So from now on I will just have to watch your youtube videos only as I have dislike for Patreon now and am getting them to delete my full patreon account. Sorry that I have to leave the community.

I prefer to go to concerts alone. I meet people. I’m not hampered by “personalities” had the best times AND I can spend $ on the best seat. I’m much older and my fav artists are OLD. I prefer not to see them sitting in a chair singing .
