Yeah… I have had the same thought since the beginning, I’d like to see more work in progress and finished work straight on, not just fleeting and from a side angle. I understand, it might pose a technical challenge… otherwise, love the show! ❤
I really enjoy that these episodes are longer than season 3. It gives us more time to get to know the artist, and see the process. I also like that we get to see the final piece longer than in season 3. I do agree that I wish a photo of the artists was shown with the piece because with so many artists I too find it hard to remember who did what. Overall I really enjoy this show. It’s so nice to have something for artists, about artists, by artists.
When you announce the winners, I wish you would flash on their work, because I can never remember who did what. It would be more of a learning help. Otherwise I really love your programs
Ya and that’s down to whoever is editing it. Why they wouldn’t do that I’m not sure but every episode I’ve seen has very little of the actual art. (As in a hood closeup look at it., or any look at all for more than a couple seconds )
I am really enjoying your competition show . I would also agree strongly, when announcing the artist and their scored points ,to show them standing next to their art work. Great show!
I love watching this rather “regular” person artist competition. It’s difficult though since the scoring is going to be based on personal taste and likes/dislikes of the judges. As art judging is right? No score truly reflects much of anything regarding “talent”. But it’s still wonderful to watch the fun of them all creating. ❤
I told my cousin my goals for my art and he laughed. As if I was not going to fly with the eagles. I believe in me and have faith that I can Achieve greatness ✨️ 🙏🏾 God is Good
I love Elli! I loved when she was telling them about white on white. She has great advice, knows what she is talking about and doesn’t sugar coat it. She’s tough but not too harsh!!!
I think it can be a more mellow music instead of that 4 on the floor drum beat and it should be turned down, dipped when speaking or only used during non talking/transitions...otherwise fun show!
Ok like….it’s not realllllly an art competition. It’s completely just a more random “fun” competition with art being one of the things they “do”! It’s fine and cool as long as they all don’t tie their art self worth to the outcome!
I know this may sound rude but every time that guy gets behind them trying his hardest to put pressure on them “every second counts” (and I’ve heard his do this SO MANY TIMES w season 3) it just burns me up!! Like… call out the time… step away. Nothing else needs to be said.
I think all the paintings were a very high standard, very hard to choose between them. All very talented and it is very hard as individual artists to come together and work on a piece and great credit to everyone involved. I would like to say they are all winners. Loved all the pieces. 💕🎨🖌️💕
I have to agree with the contestants about the lack of time. Even the judges had to imagine how the paintings would look like given more time to judge the hot chocolate pieces... then why not just give them that time?!
By far the white on white challengs is my favorite so far. I've watched season 3 and then the beginning of season 2 and I feel like they are always so colorful that it's almost overkill. It was nice to give the colors a break and see some peaceful white paintings and wow, they did not disappoint. I would personally hang two of the three on my wall all year long.
White on white is something I will have to try. Gosh these are good painters. I still wanted Barb to win though. IM sorry, I just think she was the best.
Does anyone know of any other artist competitions like this? Ive watched portrait artist of the year, that MTV one and this one...not sure what I will binge on when this is done?
Portrait artist of the year, landscape artist of the year, that one from Bravo with 2 seasons made several years ago, and this one are the only ones I know of. But there are A LOT of seasons and episodes of PAOTY & LAOTY on YT. I'm hooked on these art competition shows too! lol
It would have been so much easier if they had explained the white on white paintings as white with a tint of color. Like when you go to the paint store and see the variety of white. It has just a speck of some color in it. And to use warm and cool varieties to help your subject stand out. They really need to step up their art instruction language
Como amaria formar parte de su academia, pero soy mexicana, residiendo en Mexico, pero aun asi intento aprender todo lo que puedo de sus videos. Love you and your super long, helpful, content rich videos, please don't stop making them.☺
Sus clases son en línea, pero sí hacen workshops en su estudio un par de veces al año, ahora Florida; al igual que viajes Gracia y México en los que los puedes acompañar
I feel like Jake has better feedback than Dimitra. I agree with all of his critiques. They were on point like when he said the perspective was off with the cutting board and the candy cane having an odd shape etc. I like him and Ellie too bec she’s tough without being too harsh. I think a little harshness is necessary in art. If they can’t handle a harsh criticism in a show how will they survive and thrive in the real art world?
OH PLEASE, Milan Art, could you in the future include an image-in-image of the artwork, when talking about the work away from the art, and during standings announcements? Us out here trying to learn can use every feedback crumb, but we need to be able to fluidly connect your content with the artwork you are talking about. THANKS!
Other teams never stood a chance even though they had more details and story. Judges just liked the winning teams painting. It wasn’t necessarily better. From the camera, we actually only saw a big head.
Working with three others during this challenge would be so hard. They were all generous and professional together. The finished paintings were gorgeous. Why did you have them working on paper instead of canvas?
I don’t know if this played a part in the point allocation (as it was never mentioned) Team “Silent Winners” broke a rule. Jake states that the teams can only use graphite or chalk pencil for sketching… 45:15 Andrea is using a paint marker to sketch out the angel and owl : 106:40 108:50 🧐
I don't understand the appeal of a "finished" painting looking like an underpainting. The transparency and streakiness is much different than confident brush strokes. I paint, I completely understand the value and basic necessity of layers. But, when there's bold color that is still so transparent with little to no layers, I can't look at it as a finished piece. I get it's not easy to work on a wet piece but having no highlights whatsoever... idk. All the "mentors" need to get on the same page. If they're not able to explain the challenge collectively, how do they expect ANYONE else to? Do a bright under painting or it's going to be boring and uninteresting. You can't do a bright under painting, it needs to be a thousand shades of grey without using black mixed with white. Then they're going to be judged by the person who told them to paint with color while all their paintings are 50 shades of grey and get points taken away. The way they explain everything is extremely frustrating for me, I can't imagine how it is for the artists.
Are they using stock images that are approved or their own artwork? Some look like actual art of other artists, which would be imitation and thus plagiarized.
They use their own concepts with examples of bits and pieces of varying other’s work, together with bits of photos, so it’s their own work. There’s nothing new in art!
I was blown away by each of these paintings. They were all gorgeous. I do think it would help if, when you are explaining each challenge, you showed an example so the viewers, as well as the artists, understand what the goal is for each challenge. I know the first episodes were for the art club, but now there is a RUclips viewership who may not be as well versed ( raises hand admitting not knowing what white on white meant). I also don't like when they pressure the artists over and over about not being eliminated or the one episode with the annoying tones and music. It's like watching a TV show where there is a dog barking or an alarm going off for a long period. It's distracting and makes viewers want to fast forward or mute it. If you wanted to make it more challenging, maybe add a twist ( a color or something g they have to include every now and then).instead of the noise.
2 have been eliminated, but they have a chance to come back, so they participate in the challenges for points I believe. I wish we could see their paintings too.
They talk about sellability. But what family with males would want a Giant head instead of horses. As a female, I would not want to hang that giant head in my house. For resale, there needs to be something much more universal.
I enjoyed watching season 2, I used to be a reality show director (so I know what it’s like to film on different environnements) and I’m sorry to say the direction of season 3 is horrible. The sound is sooo bad, you guys need to stop using ambience mic for unidirectional one. The music is so weird too… what happened guys? You also have to change angles + background for interviews parts or the rhythm is so flat. Please change your sound person it’s the worst. Still love you guys but the direction on this season is at best a 2.5/10. Please at least calibrate the color temperature on both of your cameras and you must always do your white balance before shooting … Geeze Louise 😅
@@katiekamakshi oh really? So Howcome they posted season 3 before season 2. Not getting better at directing the more I know 😅🤷♀️✌🏽☀️ For real they gotta do something about it. Still love the show’s concept . If what you’re saying is true, it’s great then :) (still need a lot of improvements but getting a little better)
Can I suggest that when the winners are listed off, we don't just see the people, but we see the paintings in order of preference?
Yeah… I have had the same thought since the beginning, I’d like to see more work in progress and finished work straight on, not just fleeting and from a side angle. I understand, it might pose a technical challenge… otherwise, love the show! ❤
Same, I keep looking back to see which one they're talking about!

They do the same on season 3, maybe season 4 they'll do it, along with ditching the annoying muzac!😜
I never see enough of the work. A couple seconds each of that.
Ya and that’s down to whoever is editing it. Why they wouldn’t do that I’m not sure but every episode I’ve seen has very little of the actual art. (As in a hood closeup look at it., or any look at all for more than a couple seconds )
I believe they needed to show an example of a white on white painting.
Wow..daughter says one thing and mom says another during a white on white challenge.

The background music is so loud and distracting that one cannot focus on/hear what people are saying. Ditch the Muzak.
Yes please!
Absolutly confirm. And every video the same music and same too loud.
I think it can be a more mellow music instead of that 4 on the floor drum beat and it should be turned down, dipped when speaking or only used during non talking/transitions...otherwise fun show!

It’s so sad to eliminate all 3 based on one painting. This is the Only unfair part of this show

The feedback is so harsh!!! Every challenge should be blindly judged! I love this show but the judging is biased and one sided.❤
Please ditch the music for the next episode. I cant even watch the dull episode

Id like to know, when the artists are working from source, like the hot chocolate challenge, are they copying something from the internet?
I’m curious about this as well. 🤔
I think they are combining stuff from the internets with a graphic program.
Wow, Sawyer and not as much Andrea are not very flexible working with others. I thought it would be Esther, and she was great
What happened to the order 2 contestants. Weren’t there 11. I don’t see an elimination but then there were 9 doing the white on white challenge
They (the two boys) were eliminated in the earlier challenges. But they are taking part in the mini challenges just to keep their hand in painting.
2 have been eliminated, but they have a chance to come back, so they participate in the challenges for points I believe. I wish we could see their paintings too.
When will they start using thick paint and stop being so dark were us the light in the art
Where are the big brushes
I am extremely disappointed in the judges rulings.
I was glad that Dan pointed out the nose, it kept bothering me with its odd shape and large nostril.
Lol, his name is Jake not Dan, but I feel the same, also the hand and arm on the angel was bothering me on that painting that lost.
I thought ice cubs as well 🥶
Whats with the woolly hats and scarves while in shorts????
Pretty sure it was bc the whole day was winter themed from hot chocolate paintings to a snow/ Christmas themed challenge.
This originally aired in December of 2021 so the episode was winter themed! But it was filmed in summer so that's why the shorts haha
