He's supposedly Welsh, but he's not a Rugby League star! he plays or played Rugby Union.
Supposedly Welsh?! He’s from Wales, so Brittonic! (British, Cymric).
@@WalesTheTrueBritons You're quite right, think he was born in Penarth, but isn't his family from Malta?
baby steps, it is amazing when Americans have heard of any code of rugby at all, they have no idea there are two kinds of rugby. We don't want their heads exploding.
@@jollysheldone425 just his grand father was from Malta, but Malta was likely a british colony at the time. His parents, both welsh, his father played american football for a team in cardiff, his mum played netball for wales.
@@wombab143I was going to say that - as an American that we know what Rugby is at all...I'm excited abt this guy!
That smile tells us he is confident! Let's Go Zammit!! Cannot wait to see you shine! ❤️💛
It’s rugby union. And he’s also a British and Irish lion
Let’s not mistake those for the same country
He will be able to teach everyone how to tackle properly
everyone mad about union vs league should be impressed they even know he’s from Wales 😅 our boys are not always accurate but they mean well
Well, actually they didn’t. When the story first broke they kept (Americans) calling him Irish.
Jason Kelcee needs to be a coach, he’d make you win
Plot twist: these two guys switch to rugby over summer signing for Ospreys and the Dragons.
😂😂
Should have seen Buck Shelford and Danie Gerber in their prime. Gridiron players need heroes.
Played for Gloucester
Settle down guys, most Americans don't know there's 2 different kinds of Rugby and they both play in "Leagues" so i've always thought it was a dumb name to differentiate a sport.
It's really not. The differentiation became a thing coz players wanted to get paid to play and when they were refused they created their own separation and named it league.
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 I know the history also nothing about that contradicts that "League" is a dumb name in the modern day for your sport when literally EVERY sport plays in a League. It causes confusion that allows Union to walk in and claim "Rugby" as it's own because people start talking about A Rugby (Union) League and not THE Rugby League League.
@@Sonikgav do u wanna go tell them to go change the name that they've had for decades just for funsies? If so then pop off king I'll support ya. With popcorn at hand but I'll still support.
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023it's ofc got a lot of history but it's obviously a dumb name as league is just what you call a sports competition. Rugby is named after the town in which the posh public school, where the beginnings of game was first invented, is situated. So since the League - Union split officially happened at a meeting in Huddersfield. Maybe Rugby league should just be called Huddersball. Makes alot more sense.
This American definitely didn't know that. I didn't even know the NFL had a program for international players until Jordan Mailata. It's been a cool discovery.
He left the Wales team when we needed him most but I don’t blame him for following his dads dream 😂
😂
Learn Rugby the purest sport
Most Rugby League players have never heard of him. Very few seem to know much about Rugby Union, almost as invisible ( especially now)as American Football in Australia
Most Union players player outside of Australia. Remember that haha. Atleast Union has an actual World Cup.
@@jarradmorgan8549 Rugby League had a World Cup before Union. Union in Australia is in a very bad way. It is sandwiched between Rugby League and Australian Rules for spectators attention. Rugby League is the most watched TV sport in Australia
@@robertryan7204 rugby league wishes it had a actual World Cup.
@@robertryan7204 I didn’t know we were talking about union in Australia Union is much bigger outside of Australia old son.
@@jarradmorgan8549 Union is not big in Australia and Australia did win a Union World Cup. That says a lot about Union
He is not Rugby league but Rugby Union. League is with 13 players and Union with 15. Watch 6 nations Rugby
Rugby Union 😂
Guys please get things right!
He's Welsh. Played for Wales and the British & irish Lions. In rugby UNION not league. That's a different sport.
💪💪💪
Kelley looks kinda scared
Come to KC Kelce
Rugby Union not League
It's Rugby UNION,NOT league get your facts right
No, not European, nor Rugby league. But rather British (Wales) and a Union player. No, I wont use a Germanic term for the Britons.
Brits are European(obviously). If that’s what they meant.
Don’t want to be pedantic but it’s rugby union! You boys are elite athletes but look up Eben Etzibeth and tell me he’s not a monster lol
Welsh mate get it right
He's Welsh and he's a ex Welsh international and Bristol RUGBY UNION player.
Gloucester Rugby player….not Bristol
@@nam064 sorry I meant Gloucester, sorry I said Bristol as I'd just read a Bristol- Newcastle game report and was stunned by the score.
You are right, it was a crazy score line in th Bristol Vs Newcastle match!!!! 👍
He’s not a foreigner on his own Island. He’s A Briton! Not Welsh! Call him British or Cymric.
RUGBY UNION FFS
It's pronounced Loo-ee.
No it is pronounced Loo-is same as St Louis (Missouri), don't know why so many USAins are having an issue with the pronunciation.
@@migsg7238 its really not. The name originates from France and its pronounced loo-ee. Lewis is pronounced loo-is. And most of us non Americans pronounce it that way.
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 I don't disagree, but HIS name is pronounced Loo-is as the americans usually would for that word.
@@migsg7238 yeah. And the Americans don't pronounce it correctly. Like when people pronounce apartheid a-part-ide instead of a-part-ate.
Just coz someone does something doesn't mean it makes it correct.
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 I agree the name SHOULD be pronounced Loo-ay, but in the US it is generally pronounced Loo-is. For some reason in this case Mr Rees-Zammit pronounces his name Loo-is, but all the American commentators I have seen are trying to pronounce it Loo-ay, even although they would normally just say Loo-is.
Union ... not league
A 🦁 Lion
Not Rugby Leuge, Rugby Union
Union
Man people on here are hostile for no reason.
Louis (pronounced in the same way as Louis CK) is now a former rugby union player.
(For the benefit of all, there are two forms of rugby, league and Union).
He's Welsh, played at club level for Gloucester, international level for Wales and is a British and Irish lion.
He's crazy fast (Tyreek Hill fast), should have a decent shot of being a kick returner, and did, indeed come through the NFL IPP (International Player Pathway).
Whos Louis CK
@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 American Comedian. Hosted Saturday Night Live. Got canclled by the Me too movement. But it's a simple way for a lot of Americans to know how to say Louis.
@@TheTrueWelshIdiot so how is that guy pronounced
