    I think its a great scarf. You have more patience then I do. I don't have a loom yet, but I am anxious to get one. I have been spinning for several months now and getting much better. I was impressed to hear you did all that on a drop spindle, that takes alot of time. You should be very pleased with your work. It's very pretty. Can't wait to see your next project.

      Thank you! Yes, it was quite a bit of leisure time spent spinning that yarn.

      Thank you for your kind words. I recently acquired a spinning wheel, hopefully that will speed things up. I'd certainly like to try other methods like crocheting in the future as well.

    I can appreciate this. I have spun yarn and then knitted a hat and necklace with it. I love your scarf! I am just now learning to weave!

    I think that looks great. Personally I love 'slubs', gives it such a rustic vibe which I love. Great job. Glad you managed to salvage it into such a gorgeous piece.

    Doing great fella - You could do with warping in a room with more space (place of work ?). Love the Ashford looms and your final piece is beautiful ... as are you ❤

    Could you have sprayed Magic Sizing on the threads to lightly coat them in starch so they would not stick or cling together?
    Your scarf is beautiful from what I can see from the video! Your whole self is in that scarf. Great job!
    God Bless! 🙂

    Experience is knowledge! don't stop trying. Jay, did you Twine your yarn? you know! S-Z? to be sure the yarn won't break on weaving!. Jay, very contemporary scarf I love it 🙏🙏🙏

      Please could you explain the S-Z method? 🙏🏾

      @@NoBootyBeauty Hoi Jay, when spinning your wheel you should spin CLOCKWISE, that is the "S" . For weaving you need to take 2 of the "S" yarns and twining them together in the opposite direction, COUNTER CLOCKWISE or "Z" . You got to do that in order to avoid the yarn from break and falling a part. Great idea is to take a picture of your loom to the yarn shop when you buy more yarn. The yarn shop will help you to choose the right yarn for your spinning and loom. Your loom is small, so you cannot applied a lot of tension be gentle. I love the scarf you woven with the Alpaca, yarn; expensive yarn! very classy cheers and keep doing it don`t give up Adam 😊

      Hey, I did not twine my yarn, unfortunately my spinning skills aren't the best yet, and I can't quite control the yarn gauge to be thin enough to ply it and not end up with a massive yarn haha. Hopefully I'll get better in the future, thanks for commenting.

    What heddle size did you use?

  • @adamakaru2683
    @adamakaru2683 2 года назад

    Hoi Jay, it`s Ok take your time you doing fine!. Look at the lens of the yarn! the longer the yarn the less twist you need to do. Start with cheep yarn (fiber) Flax, Hemp, and others long road with a lot of experience and understanding your loom. I got the feeling you will do great no short cut, or any other idea before you are comfortable and weaving be second nature for you. Jay, the yarn you spin is NOT the yarn you will use as a WARP on the loom. Be kind to yourself and your work cheers Adam.
