    I get so paranoid about my babies I give them the once over a few times a week to make sure all is kosher. After looking at enough healthy babies, a sick one sticks out like a sore thumb. Very informational video. Enjoyed it.!

      I really like the wood pellets but buy the ones made for Wood Stoves. They are much better than the animal bedding ones sold.

    Frank what age do you think is idea age to entre olr, is 50 days to old if birds have not seen outside

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 месяцев назад +2

      50 days is a good age to ship to the one loft race. I feel not seeing outside can only help. At that age the vaccines have kicked in and the pigeons will not be stressed in shipping. They have not trouble settling older babies. Sickness in very young babies is more of a risk.

    I use 747 horse product for my racing pigeon
    Is it ok?

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 месяцев назад

      Just looked it up and 747 seems like a nice product. Couple times per week is plenty and do not over dose the product.

    What happens if veins are sticking out in babies or youngbirds? Why does this happen? How to stop it from happening?

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 месяцев назад +1

      If you see veins under the skin the baby is usually not healthy. Maybe use a good oregano product and make sure the breeders have plenty of minerals

      My birds go out in the rain during breeding but you can offer warm baths during breeding.

    Thinking on starting in the sport and have gleaned loads of information off your videos. One thing I'm not sure of,is you say your birds are anti biotic free,yet you vaccinate prior to season starting. Doesn't this count as putting anti biotic into the birds.

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  16 дней назад

      Hello Alan, Vaccines are not antibiotics. Antibiotics are medicines given to the pigeons. Vaccines cause the birds to make antibodies to fight disease. That is probably the confusion. Vaccines can stimulate the natural immune system for the pigeons. In many cases the vaccines make the immune system stronger.

    Great video
    This year I have 2 young ones where the egg yolk was not absorbed properly, it is a hard plaque just below their anus. I have had pigeons for a long time, I have never seen this. Any idea what could be the cause?

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 месяцев назад +1

      I would love to see a photo. That is strange but if the pigeons developed okay they should be fine. I raise Ayam Cemani and Black Copper Marans chickens and in many cases if something is not quite right at hatching the chicken has a problem of some sort.
