I always keep a plug spinner on me, for this very reason. Rytan makes an excellent EDC one and a formidable larger, standard size one. Then, it matters not, which way you pick the lock open!
@@bellabrandi7618 Thanks for the reminder. Been holding out for Covert Instruments to release their plug spinner. But thank you for the heads up on the Rytan kind. Maybe something to look into.
Is there anyway you know of to discern the direction of keyway rotation to open? I know there was a mix-up here but that could just be because of prior assumption not because if there was a way you would have used it here kind of deal. But I guess there's probably not other than being able to identify and search the lock on the internet? Or I thought that maybe like if you put tension on the key way it'll give more in One direction or the other depending on which way it opens??
First mistake was shooting WD40 into the lock, never use that. I read the comment above about having to pick it twice, so i guess this lever trim is a classroom function which leads me to your second mistake. Since you have a fancy pick kit, its lacking an important tool, a plug spinner lol. Ive never used a mag pouch while working, I've always just used my standard sparrows case snd put it on the ground in front of the door. The other tool you should add to your kit is a broken key extractor. What part of PA are you? Im SEPA 😁
@@therocketman321 I know right! WD is all I had at the time. Two things I really need to get, lock Houdini and plug spinner. Waiting for Covert Instruments to drop theirs for purchase. Didn’t need double picked, at the time I didn’t realize it actually bumped the right way and thought it went the wrong away again. Learned this after watching the video. Would love to get some help on the other doors at this location. Can pick them both ways but nothing ever happens. For another day and video. Anyway, I have two residents: Berks and Lebanon counties. Thanks for the comment! TTYs.
@@robdubent Lol I know right. Sure did feel that way! Maybe saved myself 15 mins. After the Frustration, the 15 mins would have been worth it ha. Did learn a lot. Totally forgot this door lock needs two pickings to open. Got mad for no reason. Other than I thought for certain the lock would have opened tensioning away from the frame, clockwise. Sad I never paid attention when using a key normally. Oh well….
