A quick explanation as to why I think Ciri makes sense as a main character in The Witcher 4. ☁️My socials Twitch : / droprecks TikTok : / droprecks Twitter : x.com/droprecks_
I prefer the new Ciri look, tbh. I am bulgarian and I like her rounder (?) face more, that typical slavic beauty. AND SHE IS BADASS AS HELL, LETSSSGIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOO
She's a good choice, anyone who didn't realize she was going to be the mc in W4 hasn't been paying attention to the games. That said, her being a full-fledged witcher and appearance being completely different isn't good.
The people bringing up the "breaking the lore" argument are really just repeaters of some ragebait they read on the internet. 1. the games are not canon. So not everything that's said in the books is relevant for the games 2. Even if the book lore matters, it never says that women can't be witchers, they simply have not tried to convert them. 3. The games are already breaking the lore in many ways, why aren't these hypocrits complaining about for example the whole witcher 3 ending lmao Anyway, as you said, as long as CDPR change things up in a way that benefits the story and gameplay, like they have already done in previous games, I don't see any problem.
tbf geralt looked a bit different in the killing monsters trailer than he did in game so it could be a similar case here. guess we just gotta wait till the game gets closer to release to know, i like ciri but i'll still wait before i buy the game.
i think i already said this on one of your reels, but its incredibly obvious that the people who dislike ciri being the protagonist havent played the witcher 3 or are insanely misogynistic lmao. i feel like one guy randomly said that "girls cant be witchers!!!!" and the people who havent played + the incels latched onto it like crazy. the only thing i am kind of worried about is that they will strip her of emotion, but they arent that stupid. the reason ciri is in my opinion the greatest character in fiction is because of her emotion in contrast with geralt and the fact that shes the one person who makes him experience emotion for the most part. without a doubt i am significantly more excited knowing that ciri will be the protagonist than if they just made it geralt again (especially after blood and wine ending). i am so fucking excited for witcher 4 man. also ciri is a lesbian (unless she lied in the bathhouse scene idk i just started reading the books so it might say something there) so we dont really have to worry about that aspect of it. im glad to see that not everyone is a fucking idiot tho, glad you have a good take on this
i feel like calling they misogynistic is a reach, not everyone that doesn't want a female protagonist is a misogynist, but i feel like people have lost trust in studios with all the DEI stuff that plagued video games in the last 4 years, and in their minds now every female protagonist = bad or DEI. people are not willing to look at case by case bases & just say everything is DEI or woke, in The Witcher 4 case i feel like it is completely reasonable for Ciri to be the main character & even be a Witcher since from what i understand she always wanted to be one. people say it's not "lore accurate", which is a stupid argument in my opinion, since the games are not "lore accurate" themselves, from what i understand the Blood & Wine dlc is not accurate to the books in plenty of ways, but yet people didn't complain & in fact love & praise that dlc. the whole "not accurate to the books" & "females can't be witchers" argument is simply naive, the books themselves are pure fiction. & i feel like it's pretty reasonable for the games to veer off & make narratives they see fit, especially since The Witcher games have made about 73% of the total amount of money made by the series, & also since the other games while based on the books they're not 1 to 1 & have made their own story kind of. if you think about it logically there's no problem with The Witcher 4 & Ciri becoming a witcher, but these people are emotionally driven & ignore all logical conversations since they already made up their mind.
@@droprecks when i say misogynistic i more so mean very specifically this case, because who the fuck played witcher 3 and didnt think that ciri was a fantastic character. and i think saying that people aren't willing to look case by case is just admitting that those people have become misogynistic. also, of course the games veer off the books lol (this isnt targetted at you btw just a general statement) the books did not have 36 possible endings with thousands of possible worlds that you could build within them. so anyone who tries to appeal to the books has entirely lost the plot, and seems like they want the witcher to be something its not. if i wanted linear story i would play so random mid-jrpg, but the reason cdpr games are so great is that there is a sense of fake responsibility built within them. when i first beat the witcher 3 radovid took over and i in a super parasocially-strange way felt like shit for it, and there are a shit ton of other examples like this across cyberpunk and the witcher
@@psykic9000 yeah i agree with you on pretty much everything you're saying besides the "misogynist" part, i feel like it's a bit extreme in this case. yeah they're emotionally driven & not thinking about it from a logical perspective, but idk about calling them "misogynists", that's a bit extreme since calling someone that is a very strong claim.
Ciri is the obvious choice for a protagonist. The whole book series revolves around her. She is the center of the Witcher.
Its obvious but she s not really ciri this ciri cosplay as geralt ànd made her face different and dont say she different because shes old
