  • Personally I have never seen or experienced an amusement park in Norway, so I am very excited to react and learn about the similarities between Norway and America. That being said I am also just interested to take a closer look at the Tusenfryd Amusement Park just outside of Oslo, just to see what the park has to offer all on its own. If you enjoyed the video feel free to leave a comment, like, or subscribe for more!

There are several amusement parks in Norway, you have Tusenfryd, Hunderfossen amusement park, Bø Sommerland and Kongeparken in Stavanger, they are not all like Tusenfryd with mad rides and all but they offer various things tough.

i just wanna mention that in Dyreparken ("the animal park") in Kristiansand we had Storslegga, "the big hammer" which was essentially the spinspider. but, then an attraction of the same type in an american amusement park had an accident that got someone killed, and so, that specific ride was removed from Dyreparken.

The trafic joy at 7:41 is just for kids in a specific age group, cant remember but its like 7-12 or something, and they first have a good basic theoretical class, then they get to drive and follow the trafic rules they have learned like stop, yeald and traffic lights, then they get thir own "licence" with name and picture, and a basic understanding of the trafficrules..

As an adult, I find that little cowboy train thing the most scary, because it is built for kids. As an adult it feels like you sit on top of the train instead of in it, and it feels unstable and wobbly and ... No. Not for me. Never again! Tusenfryd is like 20 km south of Oslo.
And it isn't all that. We have season cards in our family, so we go there 8-10 or more times a season.
Check out Helix in Liseberg, Gothenburg, Sweden. Now THERE's a ride!
SpinSpider is my go to attraction at Tusenfryd. Made my 11 year daughter and her friend to take it with me a few weeks ago. That was fun.
Next year there will be a new under hanging roller coaster at Tusenfryd.

The wooden one gives me whiplash and it hurts my neck and shoulders, so yeah, it is not recommendable if you value your neck. Though as a ride it is well built and a classic. I still remember the sensation a decade later.
Tusenfryd is fun and can entertain you for a few hours, but I do my very best to not buy any food there. Or anything really. Is so expensive that you have to plan ahead what you will let yourself buy. Plus, you also have to make sure you have good shoes since it is all built up-hill, so you do *a lot* of walking. It is also very easy to navigate. So even if you lose your kid there it's still navigational enough for every party to find rides to meet up by. As a 6-year-old, I had the time of my life for 3 hours on my own navigating the place with no issue, feeling safe too (I had ditched my activities group).
Very family-friendly though I don´t think I have seen people in wheelchairs the times I have been there. While a wheelchair technically can go to most places in Tusenfryd, I would not have a good time if I was wheelchair-bound. So there is that. It is also probably a lot smaller amusement park than most of its American counterparts.

Yeah, this one is where U.S really takes a hard win here, you got much wilder and diverse cast of parks, rides and also themes.
Albeit, I haven't seen a thrill park with a complete theme in U.S except for Disney world and maybe Universal studios, albeit the latter is more scattered with its theme.
I could be completely wrong, I've only been to a six flags, which was quite wild, just horribly long queues, but that's to be expected early in July.
I'd say my favourite amusement park experience was Terra Mitica in Spain, Alicante.

I really recommend checking out a video on Hunderfossen Eventyrpark as well. It’s one I went to a lot as a kid. It’s not as large and has fewer rides however it’s got more of a specific theme compared to this one. Hunderfossens theme is old Norwegian folk fairytales like trolls and stuff like that. It’s located in Lillehammer which is a city I’ve previously recommended you react to on the channel. Both Hunderfossen Eventyrpark and Lillehammer as a whole is really cool and definitely worth reacting too.

I feel old. When I was a child this themepark was mostly a zoo with a few amusement experiences. All I can remember is that it had a bear or bears that I could almost touch through the fence if I wanted to, but still knew it was best not to 😀'
Sure I've been to Tusenfryd several times, but I think it would be considered like tiny to any american standards. Probably not even worthy of being titled an "amusement part". The size of Tusenfryd can be compared to a theme park in the US I would guess, even though Tusenfryd tries to include several times within it's area. D.

I love Tusenfryd! So many great memories there! ☺️ On my last day of school before graduating my class whent there with all the money we saved up doing dugnad (chores and stuff for people, physical labor).
It's an amazingly fun place! Supersplash, Ragnarok, Spaceshot (that my mom is terrified of lmao) and Tømmerstupet are my all time favorites! When we ride Tømmerstupet me and my friends will always tell jokes to the person standing before the drop. Getting progressively more giggly and dumb the more we do it. 😂 My record is taking it 17 times in a row. Had to stop cuz it was closing time. 🥲
Even though Tusenfryd has everything I still like hunderfossen park more! Everything is troll and norwegian folktale themed. Some of the troll animetronics scared me as a child though. 😅

You get sent up a pitch black tower its not even 90 degrees up its literally up and slightly backwards so you hang feeling like youre about to fall out back pitch blackness inside a disney looking tower and it drops you back down into it before shooting you up and out.
