How to Grow Croton Plants From Stem Cuttings

- Growing croton plant from stem's cuttings is maybe the easiest way to do croton plant propagation. This method is also can produce large amount of new croton plants since from one single stem we can turn it into so many new plants. The croton plant propagation by stem's cuttings is also very effective since the success percentage of this method is very high if it is done correctly. Maybe for experienced gardeners, it can reach almost 100% of success percentage.
To do croton plant propagation is very easy. First we need to prepare the equipment needed. Here are the list:
1. Croton plant's stem
2. Knife
3. Growing medium
4. Container/ polibag/ pot (as needed)
Follow these steps to be succesful in croton plant propagation:
1. Take healthy croton plant's stems from the garden
2. Make 8-12 inches cuttings.
3. Remove the stem's skin at the bottom edges of the cuttings.
4. Place them in growing medium.
5. Watering them as needed, not excessive.
6. Put in shaded area for two months until the roots and leafs of the croton plant grow nicely.
7. New croton plants ready to be planted.

What is correct potting mix for croton plants in outside
In our experience, it's best to use 50% of soil, 30% of natural compost, and 20% of rice husk. But it depends on the materials available in your area.

Would new croton plants only grow from the harden stem? I've seen other videos where the planters advise that the soft stem would not produce a plant.
Yes if you meant the soft stem is the stem shoots. Mature stems are needed on this process

Please let us know about your Growing medium for propagation and then for growth.
Also I've Gold Dust (Thin Leaves) plant, where all the leaves fallen. I've moved it to a new pot with mixture of river sand, garden soil and fertilizer. But still not showing new leaves coming after couple of weeks. What could be wrong? How much time it should take to have new leaves? Kept it near window and no direct sunlight coming.
For propagation process, just use potting soil without any fertilizer. The cuttings don't need it yet. Just keep them properly in the shade area. After the leaves appear then you can move them to direct sun and give them fertilizer.

Biar bisa tumbuh subur media tanam yg bagus pake campuran apa saja dan takarannya sekalian ya om.....
Kami biasa menggunakan campuran tanah 50%, sekam 30%, dan pupuk kandang 20%. Sudah cukup bagus tanpa pupuk kimia untuk tanaman hias non buah.
Dg cara yang sama juga Coba ranting pohon jati/pohon Cendana Om buat investasi.
Bisakah untuk pohon jati dilakukan stek?

Hello , i have tried it to propagate a green dust croton with 1cm of its green stem( not the brown hard one) . It has been 3 months but it haven't seen any new leaves or the size of stem increasing . Only the roots developed. Well , it was in a public garden so i must not take a stem from it.

Hello. If roots develop well it is a good indicator that the cutting will grow. As long as the cutting don't rot then it will create new leaves.

Excess water will cause rot on the stem. Just keep the soil moist, not too wet.

Cara agar puring tumbuh cabang bagaimana ya? Puring saya ada yg hanya lurus keatas, tidak muncul cabang.
Untuk proses cabang secara alami tidak bisa direkayasa bu. Yang bisa dilakukan adalah pemotongan/pangkas batang agar muncul banyak tunas cabang baru

Croton plants need enough sun light for best growth. It's better if you put it outside the house.

Watering them every 2-3 day sufficiently. It's better to put them in the shade area along the propagation process.
