The longer hair on this kinda gives off some Avengers:earths mightiest heroes vibes. That hulk is by far my favorite on screen appearance of the character
Totally, a clear speaking hulk (and sarcastic) almost never appear on the screen. They did a really good job, even better than movies in "classic story" terms.
Just got mine delivered and I love it! This version will now be my definitive "bad guy" version of the Hulk where he may be battling other heroes and my 80 years version will be my "good guy" Hulk.
The 20th anniversary Hulk is my new favorite Hulk. I actually like the faces on this one better than the other two. It just looks a lot like the 70’s style face. It just scratches that itch for me, I guess.
Actually the infamous lips were there in late 60, 70s & early 80s, might wanna check the artwork of Herb Trimpe, Buscemas, Ernie Chan et al. It's not as obvious in the comic because usually Hulk has lighter green shade in those era (Closer to Wolverine 2 pack) and the artwork is less detailed than Paul Harding's 3D work, but the general Silhouette is there.
The brighter colour of the 80th years makes the figure look bigger than the new one. Cool review Shartmus, I'm waiting for mine arrive . I have the 80th years, the San Diego Comi con , The red Hulk and the Grey Hulk, and for me the 80th years is still the best.
I’d love a modern hulk figure. We’ve gotten so many retro hulks and like one modern hulk recently and it was a sdcc exclusive. Perfect hulk fig would be the paint job of the new 20th anniversary hulk on the marvel select body with a more modern head sculpt (preferably with an immortal hulk head sculpt). id even take a 90s head sculpt
Same, i LOVE my diamond select immortal hulk (wearing the non-terminator-looking head) but i tuned in to see how shart liked the head sculpts now that it is in hand - and now im wondering if i just need another Hulk!
8:18 first one: 80th anniversary Hulk figure looks like he's kinda less mindless version of hulk that had a bit of intelligence of banner that can talk much. Second one: 20th anniversary Hulk kinda looks literally mindless version of hulk that still don't have the presence of banner, but pure monster inside out, and not having of intelligence of talking much. Third one: well it's obviously looks more enraged and very very angry Hulk, that he's vains popping out of angriness, this Hulk looks out of control taken by anger. You can tell to this three Hulk figure that they have different personalities just by looking on them by the difference of it's appearances.
I felt exactly the same way when I saw the promo images of this figure. Headsculpts didn’t look good to me and I thought about canceling it but wanted the whole set of these 20th anniversary figures. I just opened mine today and I think it’s my new favorite Hulk from Hasbro. Heads look a lot better in person and I’m a big fan of the colors and paint apps. I’m going to use this Hulk in my Hulk display and the 80th anniversary in my Avengers display
With all these different variations of Hulk being made we desperately need a classic Joe Fixit deluxe figure either in the style of Todd McFarlane, Jeff Purves or a two pack set as he looked on the cover of that Wolverine issue standing next to Patch.
At first I honestly didn't like ML 20th Anniv. Hulk. It was the pickle lips I had a problem with. After having bought the other 20th Anniv.figures, I decided to get Hulk and when I had him in hand to take a better look at him. I think he is awesome and a hefty figure. I'm going to keep him on card though. An "incredible" review, Shartimus.
I got the 80th anniversary Hulk literally the day this was revealed. I wasn't sure about buying it, and when I caved it was I mostly just for the base. But having it in hand, I love this thing. The tears on the jeans, the more interesting shape of the head sculpts, the colours and it looks badass in the box too. Probably my favourite Hulk figure, slightly preferred over the 80th anniversary.
Toybiz series 1 Hulk first had the wire-LESS "bendy" hands (which didn't bend, were just splayed open) and then made a running-change with the solid, single-hinge gripping hands that appeared between series 1 and two.
I think I still prefer the 80 years hulk, paint job looks more natural, pops more. This hulk's paint job is strange, aside from the white tears on the pants, that should be a standard. BUT the accessories that come with this one are super cool
I absolutely LOVE this Hulk figure! I was one of the few who really liked the promo pics, and in hand both head sculpts look even better. I really dig the sideburns and the longer hair, giving the figure a bit of a vintage 70's vibe. The extra lighter paint in the ripped areas of the pants were a nice touch too.
Just opened up mine this morning and I love it. Both face sculpts are ridiculously detailed. My favorite has always been the hulk from the leader 2 pack minus his wierd flat hand. Wish there was more detail in the feet but its cool
I have both the 20 years and the 80 years Hulks. I think the head on the 80 years hulk is the most comic accurate for a standard classic Hulk. When the new one was announced I did not like either heads, but having it in hand I really like the eyes. Either way, one will be in my classic Avengers and the other my Defenders
Love this Hulk! I’m super glad I got it , but my favorite is always going to be Select Immortal Hulk…..is that in the running? Ok, it’s my favorite Legends Hulk then!
The brighter green on the torso looks like a bad tan line. As if he's been running around with his torn shirt covering only that part of the body. They should make a 2-pack of Lou Ferrigno Hulk, using the Hercules body, and Bill Bixby David Banner. Including an alternate head with green eyes, and packaging that looks like an old television set.
I thought the head sculpts looked pretty good from the get go and am glad to hear it looks better in person. Also with the darker green in the head I am considering putting it on the SDCC body to see if that looks better. If not, the base figure looks good already and I'm sure I'll be happy with it.
Damn looks sooo good. When I saw this figure first time i was like Those heads are downgrade but now I LOOVE THEM this is amazing😍 only down side for this figure it's the head without green shading it's stands out looks like head don't look too good when it's on body in totally different colour. I want this figure so much
I got my Hulk Thursday. And it's soo Awesome . I really like the effect piece. Only negative thing . Its kinda shiny . So taking pictures can be difficult . But I give this figure a 100 % 👍
Agreed! I battled ordering this Hulk because I was fixated on the 80th Anniversary one. Once I got this figure in hand, the paint apps and green tones really got my attention. The head scuplts are now my favorites simply because the amount of detail in them! The hair is the only gripe I have since it hinders the articulation. Long story short, the 80th Hulk has been replaced! I like this Hulk! BTW, take the shirt off the 80th and put it on this one.....I think it makes the figure even better!
I agree with you 100% that this looks infinitely better in hand than any promo pic made it look. Of the seven Hulks on this body mold, this quickly became my absolute favorite. Fun fact: If you have the 80 Years SDCC exclusive and hate the paint deco on the face (as I do), you can use one of the heads on that body and it matches pretty close to perfectly. I honestly feel like I got two Hulks for the price of one thanks to the upgrade for my SDCC Hulk.
I still prefer the 80th anniversary version, he looks much better, I like the colors better, and the face does not look like an angry frog face like this new 1 does
I'm really liking it. The head molds throw you off as they don't always look good at every angle but I love each hulk on that mold and have all but Maestro and just waiting for my order to come in.
Great review, ty. Was surprised you didn’t swap heads with the SDCC body because I was thinking that could work? The heads are maybe the best along with the 80th Grey Hulk; so much detail and life to them. I think overall the shading really works including the contrast from head to chest. I think of it as gamma blood rushing to the Hulk’s head as he becomes enraged. While shading looks more organic on the 80th Hulk, I like how this one makes the details pop. In comparison, the 80th Hulk seems like an unfinished product to me now, and the head sculpt on it just seems lifeless. Update: have mine in hand and absolutely love it. The darker head’s look off in a really bright light but look fantastic with a warmer, softer lighting. I actually love the SDCC, 80th, and 20th Hulks for different reasons. The only one I don’t have any issues with is the 20th, but it has such a stylized look that I can see how others might prefer the iconic look of the 80th Hulk.
I think it would’ve been nice if this figure came with a regular Mandroid head. Because that BAF piece in particular is incredibly hard to find in comparison to the other Mandroid pieces.
Iirc the bendy hands vs articulated hands was initially a running change and then they did the chase with the labcoat for series 2 that came with the articulated hands
You know what I wish? I wish for either a Marvel Legend or Marvel Select Hulk version of the Lou Ferigno - Body should be like either the MCU Hulk or Marvel Select Hulk, with a Lou Ferigno Head.

It's definitely better looking than the initial promo images suggested. I still think the lips look off. To me the rips on the SDCC version's jeans are better painted. The new base looks incredible. They should do a deluxe Iceman with and ice slide, icicle projectiles and other accessories.
