Elizabeth was cruel and Anthony Ulryk was a true man of honor, he preferred to stay with his children than return to his homeland. His children were the true heirs as great-grandchildren of Ivan V, Peter's older brother. So sad.

Yeah, I don't know why they left ot one boy. I guess they wanted to create tension, with Elizabeth learning now that there is another boy, not just Ivan, and the audience is holding their breath what she would do with the other heir now? I remember when I first saw it I got very nervous that Elizabeth might imprison the baby boy too.
What i like about the series is the cinematography ❤ it is actually good & pretty in my opinion It is like the series was shot using insta's camera filters The bright light that shine inside their castle during the morning The characters are interesting every episode , quiet the interesting dynasty
Heartbreaking scene.We really feel sorry for the duke and the children.They weren´t even allowed to play outside. Poor children. No doubt the Empress is a hard woman with a hard heart.

Как бы тут не выставляли Елизавету святой,не получается.Насколько надо быть бездушной,бессердечной женщиной,чтобы посадить маленького мальчика в крепость,не разрешать ему гулять,не разрешать игрушки,не разрешать с ним разговаривать.Ведь были же варианты.Например,оставить его в Холмогорах с его семьей.Или же сменить ему имя,документы,отдать в крестьянскую семью где-то на окраине империи.Он бы вырос не зная кто он,и не представлял бы там никакой угрозы.Зато рос бы на солнце и свежем воздухе,играл бы с другими детьми и рос бы хоть и бедным,но счастливым ребенком.Елизавете нет оправдания.Она была сумасшедшей садисткой
