That along with this fight highlights how much greater Sasuke's genjutsu has become in comparison to a legendary sanin's which sets expectations for the showdown with Itachi. Haters always downplaying because they're small where it counts, but show some gratitude you losers. Orochimaru and Itachi are legitimately Konoha's responsibility to bring to justice but they're so incompetent they've given up on cleaning up their own mess. Thank you Sasuke!!

that's the reason why Itachi always activated his sharingan when he joined Akatsuki, he knew Akatsuki was a dangerous organization so he was always wary of other Akatsuki members
By the way, the scene where Hiruzen catches Orochimaru in his lab is much more graphic in the manga. There's tens of bodies hung on the wall, pinned to it by their hands, bleeding, etc. Just a point of interest.
It was crazy even then that they decided to have Naruto Shippuden air on Nickelodeon. Not even Nick at Nite either. It was like the manga targeted an older audience in Shippuden and the anime targeted a younger one than before
Also Hulu and Crunchyroll censor a lot of blood and language. I bought the seasons for Naruto and back then I was listening to dub. Even in dub they had so much more blood more cursing and instead of saying destroy you it should of been kill you. lol.
Crazy how wildly opinions differ about Sasuke's second curse mark form. I've always thought it was awesome. I actually loved Naruto for the fact that we had to deal with some1 dying in the show and cahracters having to go through that grief, before Naruto I had seen another very similar anime where people always came back to life and u even knew they were always coming to live again, which took away the tension and excitement in the moment, in Naruto u can never be entirely sure who lives or dies and it adds a bit of realism to it U wouldn't guess who the ultimate big baddie is 🙂

This moment was huge in so many ways! Yet somehow the line that stuck out to me the most was "you are a like a snake so busy hunting a a rat... that you didn't see the hawk coming!" That metaphor hit on so many levels! I was never able to tell exactly what Saske's 2nd form was. I wasn't a big fan but I didn't hate it either it was kind of cool that he had wings and they also doubled as giant hands. But I thought Saske was maybe supposed to look like a bat or someithing. But now we know he is a hawk!

Ironically the transfer jutsu weakpoint is that when the User wants/needs to switch, he/she might be too weak to overcome the victim, and so.... if the victim is strong enough, there will be No transfer at all.... But yeah, we'll be getting a lot Sasuke now
what an unexpected turn of events, Sasuke decided to strike first :) quite clever from him to attack now when Orochimaru is at his weakest :) it was very interesting seeing things from Orochimaru's perspective now, we learned a lot about him here, plus some scenes from before, like the one where Nawaki died, its different here from when we were seeing via Tsunade, here Orochimaru wasnt a cold asshole at all :) now it makes more sense how he got here, why he pursued immortality in the first place, starting with his parents dying and then a lot of his comrades, just got corrupted in the process :) now we also know about the hand we saw all the way back in the OG ep 81 it was cut off by Itachi and he kept it with the ring to cuck the Akatsuki :D
I felt the "true form" of Orochimaru very underwhelming, and his defeat too easy and pitiful. He brought so much horror, revulsion, and uniqueness to the series and didn't get a fitting end IMO.
Yeh it was revealed in part OG Naruto that Orochimaru tried to get Itachi and couldn't because he said Itachi is stronger than him. That was somewhere around episode 82, before Itachi beat Sasuke up.
If Orochimaru was in top condition Sasuke probably wouldn't even be able to land a single meaningful hit on him 🤷🏻♂️ on top of his current body host been expiring he still had no access to hand signs and jutsus because of the third hokage sealing. Remember back on OG when the sound 4 said that the curse mark was like a collar? Orochimaru needs hand signs to completely subdue the people he marked (like he did with Anko in the forest of death) if he still had access to that option then Sasuke would wouldn't have a chance at this.
I wouldn't say meaningful, I put it at a medium to high difficulty fight favoring orochimaru tbh but that's without subduing with the curse mark of course

In hindsight, how does anyone look back at this and still peddle such nonsense? All fights you could say are conditional and Orochimaru perhaps proved slightly tougher for Sasuke than he was for Itachi, but not by much really.

Just a few episodes ago Sasuke was able to see inside Naruto and suppress the 9 tails Chakra. Being inside Orochimaru and taking him over is nothing compared to that.
