Using the inspection pit to make my life easier how easy is it when you don’t have to lay on the floor
Hi Tom good to see you and concrete Colin again. I work as a banksman on site with 360 excavators and telehandlers etc and I love helping out doing the daily and weekly checks on a Friday, It's a great way to learn about the different makes & models of machine.
Sweden here! Look in the compartment in the floor on front of the cab for the service bag, it's supposed to be in there with a Volvo engine oil hose. The service book for that digger is available online for 70$ at 3500 pages, it's well worth it on the Ecr series everything is a bit more complicated... The company I work for has a ECR145Elm and I have to maintain it, for a lot of enging stuff the whole counterweight has to come off..
Or I could send you the service manual somehow, it's however a massive 600mb pdf file 😂
@@TheBibliofilus DVD would work🤔
@@TheBibliofilus Dropbox and share the link to it. 👌
However a cheap USB stick would be easier.
@@stuartcraigon2003 I had an old forgotten dropbox account and now farmer Tom has access to it for future use 👍
Nice to see that Concrete Cat is OK, my concerns of foul play were misplaced
Congratulations Tom, hope you had a lovely wedding day, you’ve got a good one there! That pit is the dogs, just keep it covered, my father in laws dad had one and his daughter fell in it, got filled in the day after .
I was in Berlin when I watched this video and it was 9 degrees and drizzly ! The Brandenburg gate still looked very impressive !
Great video Tom. Been raining here too mate. Central Coast NSW AUSTRALIA. Pit has been a valuable addition to the farm. Also want to say i really enjoyed the weeble video with Colin mate great collaboration hope to see you do more together. Thanks again👍👍👍
Good stuff
Mid 20s to low 30s, lovely and sunny here in regional Australia 🙃.
As we've rebuilt/refurbished some of our smaller trailer mounted equipment, we've taken a similar approach to Volvo. All the filters remote mounted together, as well as standardising them. Now almost everything uses the same engine oil, fuel, air and (when applicable) hydraulic filters. Said filters are ones we already stock for other equipment. Standard batteries too.
As a bonus, the filters are much larger than stock, so they last longer.
Thanks for the reply
First time I have seen your cat without wet concrete hahaha. We are in Tasmania Australia, the sun has finally come back after a wet winter, but it won't last for long!
Hello Tom a pit is a game changer as you said laying on the floor is no fun. And doing it in the yard when it's been raining and mud keep up the great work.
Ralph
Thanks 👍
Gloucester rained most of day your pit is old fashion engineering well done Tom
Nice work. That pit has paid for itself already with time saved.
Warm spring here in New Zealand.
New Brunswick Canada here Tom. We are in a stretch of fine days 18 degrees and a few clouds. That pit has to be saving you a lot of time, I am so jealous. Good to see the concrete cat still around, it is a favourite with my wife and daughter. Greatly informative video as usual, keep them coming.
Thanks for responding
From Saskatchewan, this video brings back a few memories of equipment maintenance. You know how that goes. :) Enjoyed your video thanks.

Excellent video Tom - the pit was certainly a great addition - North bank of the Humber, wet and windy!
Use to go there regularly for collage at bishop burton
@@Tomlamb980 It has a very good reputation!
Up on the Isle of Colonsay, Southern Hebrides. Been really dry for the last few weeks which is very unusual here for the time of year. Keep up with the videos, really enjoy them.

New title: Down the inspection pit servicing the big volvo digger. (It’s so easy if you had a funnel) 😅
Good one!
@@Tomlamb980 Thanks Tom, I think someone needs to donate a funnel :) @Agri-Linc
Greetings from Malaysia Tom: Blue Skies & Sunny 33°C here at the moment. That pit must have nearly paid for itself already, great addition to your farm.
Great vid Tom.

First class video again, Tom. Raining in scottish borders
Great and interesting video, Tom - I've been in North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire today and its been chucking down....
Thanks for the info!
Hi Tom, Terrace, BC Canada. We live 100 miles south of Alaska, 100 miles in land from the Pacific coast in some of the most beautiful countryside possible. 6000 foot mountains, Wolves, Coyote, Moose, Deer, Mountain Lions and Wolverine and the most productive Salmon and Steelhead river in BC. Weather has been pouring but we are in an official Rain Forest so shouldn't complain too much.
Thanks for the response
Enjoy your video hope you're having a good day I'm from Missouri and it's been very dry here we are in a hi fire risk today but please pray for the people in Kentucky and South Carolina it has been very rough there
Sorry to hear that
Your doing a better job of serving than alley from alleys digger diaries 😅
Let him know
@Tomlamb980 mind you, you weren't rushed with lots to do and you had the dry pit but still.
Winter is on the horizon in Alaska USA. Cold and clear. Cheers
Cheers
South of the Netherlands. Rain, rain, rain.
Fixed some fences at my parents place yesterday (they have horses), luckily in between showers. Had the equipment packed away right before the drops started falling.
Can’t believe you still haven’t got the valves you would of been better getting a cheap flight and picking them up yourself ffs. Nice clean machine Tom and your pit is perfect for working under all your equipment. I bet you’re glad you put it in. Pissing it down in Northern Ireland.
Great video Tom very interesting and informative 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Afternoon Tom it's raining here in Lancashire, the pit has to be one of the best things you built for sure. 👍.
It sure is
Chilly wind 13C but not a cloud in the sky all day here in Jutland Denmark.
And yes a service pit surely is a great investment and more safe as well as long as you don't fall in them.
Denmark here. Nice weather today and yesterday. But a LOT of rain before that.
Same here
Great service on your Volvo 👌🏼 love the Maximum Power check in-cab. White noise reversing is annoying but some ppl can’t see a massive yellow digger coming close to them 😢 I’m from Essex 😊
Thanks 👍
Soggy Snowdonia here. We are currently drowning in Liquid Sunshine. The rivers are rising and the fields are flooding. It’s bloody marvellous. I love global warming at least the rain is warmer. 😂
Why can't more manufacturers make servicing easier like ur Volvo, u can actually work on it and not get covered in shit and oil. If u look after ur machines they will look after u, more farmers should follow ur lead.
An interesting video, thanks Tom.
Cheers, Poth.
Hello from Sweden.
Hello there!
I'm in wiltshire and it's cold and wet 😢,but on the plus side I really enjoyed the video ❤
Glad you enjoyed!
North Norfolk and Peeing it down yet again, and the weather prediction is bloody useless. Saw my first stuck Landy today too.
In my day of driving plant people had commonsense and wouldn't get close to a machine unless they were working with you so you ware aware of them. They would also signal you if needed. So no silly noises from our machines. There are some bells and whistles in that 360. It was only our Dump trucks that had cameras on them when they first became available, the good old CRT screen.
I'm in Birmingham, and it was very wet yesterday.
Great video just found your channel. Do you have a video of when you purchased this digger ?
Don’t think so
Yes Tom
hi, I'm watching from Denmark, I drive a Liebherr 910
Nice
Hi Tom, I am in SE London and it is dark and over cast with a temp of 15c, gloomy. Tom would it be OK to tell you that when I had to change the diesel filter on a car I used to own (a 1997 Ford Escort 1700 TDI Saloon) I would always take the filter and first half fill it with diesel magic which is a diesel system cleaner and pump and injector cleaner to remove any rubbish or carbon from the tips. When you start up the car will belch white smoke and that clears in about 3mins and the car always ran a lot better. Just wanted to share that. Also it was good to see the cat again. Thanks for posting.....
Norfolk East Angalia and its been chucking it down all day :(
Takes me back to changing oil on old mini’s they had magnetic oil bung. 28 mm rain 12 hours so far Doncaster
16:02. Press the button on the dash, with a symbol of a line through an alarm and it turns the siren off. We have these diggers at work. But they're the 23.5s Also you can go into vehicle settings, scroll down to joystick hot key, and set it to either do the windscreen wiper, full power mode, or probably good for you as a RUclipser mute music, for content matching when filming. It's the right button on the left stick. Also pressing the dial in on the throttle dial puts it in kw mode for more power, and pressing the left button on the right stick, goes into strong arm mode for about 10 seconds, when lifting heavy buckets of material.
Thanks
Hi Tom it's pissed it down nearly all day here in East Yorkshire
Narnia ... chuffin cawd n wet big man but can see mists of Avalon :)
peace
Cheshire and it persisting it down here today Tom
Hello from Canada Tom. Its sunny and about 25C here! and the soybeans are rolling off. My excavator has the same oil drain plug thingy. No where to be found in the tool box or anyplace. Ended up getting one from my local auto supply store for about $12CAD. My filters are not as nice as yours though, Case like to put them all around the machine. Noticing your diesel fuel as well, unlicensed vehicle fuel over here is dyed red.
Yes same here but we have to use taxed fuel in diggers now
Weather -hi Tom, Sousse, Tunisia, two recent thunderstorms, now sunny and dry. 27 deg's @ 11.00..
Here in the Netherlands it was crappy today, drizzling and not too warm. Got quite some rain last wednesday-friday. Should have been a bit warmer 😅
Long Island NY. 21 C and cloudy. Been raining for 2 days. Sound familiar?
Yep
Hello!
You should consider getting a "rototilt/tilt rotor" for your excavator. Then you can dig 360 degrees.
There expensive
Wet in mid Wales how many m3 is your bucket I have a 2.68 m3 abutt and it holds 1.250 tons of dry hen muck
That bucket is 5.6m think it’s the biggest they make for grain buckets
Melbourne, Australia, 27C, pissing down tomorrow.
North Lincolnshire Tom, been raining all day, stayed at home no point in getting wet unnecessarily. 90%.

It’s pissing it down here right now been raining all day

Otago new Zealand we are in flood mode at the moment
Been sunny/overcast last couple days but had 6.5mm rain before that in QLD Australia. Wasn’t enough to get my new tropical improved pasture mix growing rapidly unfortunately
In the Netherlands and, yes, it has been raining all day.
Western Australia temp today 31 😎
Stratford Ontario Canada 19C cloudy
Good work Tom Lamb, being a Mercedes passenger car diagnostic technician myself it’s interesting to see heavy machinery maintenance, Volvo really had the mechanic in mind building that 360
Thanks 👍
My brother drives a grain lorry for a farmer in Latvia. He’s spending tons of money building a new workshop but one thing he’s not doing is an inspection pit. My brother is almost crying when I show him your videos of how easy servicing is with a pit. He looks after the lorry he drives and while the new workshop is getting built all the servicing is done outside, on the ground🤦♂️
You can still fit one
@@Tomlamb980 if I was building it, it would be a no brainier. I like the one Welderfabber recently made. The wash ramps he makes look cool as well.
butler county pennslyvania, raining.
Rain ☔️
North West England..and pissing down
All these taxes, does it feel like a demand from the kray twins?
It was raining this morning on the south coast of England Brighton of course Bassett well it stop raining but it was cloudy and apparently it's supposed to be cloudy but no rain thank God
Lashed it down all day in Wakefield and is still doing so ☹️
Where possible I normally fill the oil filter as well. Thus the oil pump doesn’t have to fill the filter and should get to normal oil pressure quicker.
What a poor design for those filters, everybody knows you should mount the diesel filter above the starter motor so than all the diesel runs into it. Tractors have been doing that forever. White diesel in the digger whatever next 😂
I'm in NE Derbyshire and it's been raining all day localised flooding. Tom the mechanic today not Tom the farmer.
