Did we see the same fight??? If you break it down, it didn't look like Bene landed or controlled anything from the top. Charles was attempting submissions and landing more. Bene didn't even land a headshot after having Charles down for 2 mins???? Plus he fell on him due to Charles's miscalculation. Just can't give the man his props. He completely out classed Bene.

I like Dariush as much as anyone, but you're 100% right. From the top, it seems like he landed more punches on the canvas than he landed on Oliveira. Benny's still a dangerous guy, but he just didn't have anything for Charles.
He was winning on the ground but he didnt pull guard. Benny pushed off the fence with his right leg and toppled him over.

I genuinely think something is wrong with him. Charles landed 16 sig strikes with 80% accuracy on the ground vs Dariush’ 6 total at a 43% rate.

Dariush wasn't really prepared, and that showed, but Charles being able to stop all attacks from all spots is what helped him win this. Charles won because he was more prepared.

What if I tell you, Charles was never in danger and never faced adversity... Only thing Benni had was top control. There was only one submission threat and that was Oliveira, infact Oliveira even out struck Benni from his back 😂 and when he wanted to get up, he did so without an issue as well.
Let’s get this right… Charles decided to stay on his back lol. He was never in no danger, he was throwing elbows and attempting submissions from the bottom and then he got up when he decided it wasn’t working then knocked Beneil out lol. Beneil was hardly landing anything when he was on top.

It’s really remarkable the personality and charisma he gives off to the American audience while not even speaking the same language.
I might be crazy but I do think a win in the rematch will make him the biggest star in the company (assuming Conor is done) which is just wild to think about.

It's Charles story. He's got main character energy. Beaten down and broken then his daughter is born and he revives his career in incredible and violent fashion. And he puts the art into martial arts with how he chains the ranged striking into close range striking into takedowns or back takes. It all flows and is super fun to watch.

That's a big difference between being grooming properly and get proper matches than get Derrin Elkins, Donald Cerrone, Cub Swanson and Frankie Eddie in the first 8 fights on UFC the man has been battling and beating world champions and tittle contenders since his 20s it's not like Khabib that has 20 nobodies on the record... Did a mention that Olives has more subs than Khabib has fights on the UFC?
9 men have proved they were better than Oliveira and only 2 men were able to give Khabib the loss of a single round. There’s levels. Oliveira is a great fighter and a great champion but to suggest he has a greater than Khabib is just recency biased
Khabib Smahbib. The Conor fight was his first decent fight and as soon as the competition started getting better, he cut and ran.

One thing I’m always disappointed in chael is not knowing who the actual stars are. Oliveira is top 5 most followed on social media and the only Fighter to finish everyone in their division top 5. Most finishes, bonuses and submissions. He’s the Real deal.
Took you too long to publish this piece. Somehow I figured that when it did come out, this segment was going to build up via cut down.
Benny was on top, but not sure if was winning anything. Charles pulled him into guard. Benny Couldn’t initiate an effective attack because he was too busy defending from submission threats. And when he did get his ground and pound going, hitting nothing but canvas while getting elbowed and hammer fisted from bottom. And then Charles just stood up when he wanted.

I genuinely think this was one of the most entertaining fights of the year, mostly because I’m a oliveira fan boy. Watch MMA gurus breakdown of the fight. Highlights how Charles was ready and active in every position of the fight. The way oliveira neutralized dariush in almost every aspect is fascinating.
Once again I'm going to release this information here: Charles Oliveira's coach, Diego Lima, never said that they were offered a rematch with Makhachev, but a fight with Fiziev in Rio in January, which they refused.

Beneil was doing nothing to Charles on the ground. Charles was very comfortable and at the very second he decided to stand up he did it with 0 difficulty. It was a dominant fight and if can't see it you should rewatch it.
