I will definitely follow up with a better description of the build and add an additional video with a closer look of the build. I honestly didn't know if anyone would be interested in this project. Thank you. Give me a few weeks.

1:18 “break över joints to prevent hollowing”, does that mean wallframe screws end inside the base OSB (not touching base frame) or go all the way through wall frame to base OSB to base frame? This is one the best instructions, many thanks.

First, I want to thank you for watching and subscribing. I truly have a great lineup of independent film and sound projects that are currently in the works and look forward to sharing as much as I can with everyone. Comments like yours help build and establish relationships of like-minded individuals looking to strengthen their skills. The meaning behind the term “hallowing” was used to describe the layering of frame-to-frame corners of the support walls. The inner frame could also be cut the same way, but I personally didn’t find it necessary to do so. I would also use wood glue to prevent sound transmission between the OSB and frame from the outside wall to the inside wall. The screws are measured to reach fully when attaching the OSB to the frame at all points available. Having the OSB installed helps to add and screw the drywall later also. You can also lay down a thin layer of glue inside the cavities when installing the installation to help keep the installation in place while hanging the other OSB walls in place. Now I built my booth using most all recycled material for frame parts and wall OSB. If you have full sheets of this, then GAME ON! You should have a better experience with less cuts than I had. That is best to prevent transfer of sound. I selected to layout my frame walls with the 2X4 flat as shown. This is to keep more mass at the face of the walls and less cavity space between walls. I knew I was adding installation inside the cavities so having a large cavity with less mass didn’t work for me. Also, I needed the floor space so, with the four walls that thick it took away several inches of floor space but didn’t add any additional value to the project. I’m not trying to drop another video on you, but if you watch the shed build video that I did you will see the way that the corners are cut using a table saw and a circular saw. Also, the audio for that video was done in that vocal booth that I built. The shed build is so far the only video that was used for sound recording in the vocal booth. Good luck! and again if you have any questions please ask. I work mostly at nights and on weekends so that is the best time to reach me. Interested in seeing your progress so feel free to do so.

Thank you for your reply and attention. Having watched some your other videos, I wish I had the environment (and the tools) to implement them all. I live on the second floor in a 5 floor apartment on a high traffic street and it just gets hectic. My first plan was room in a room with a double wall system; the more research I did the more I realized I do not have that kind of space :) So I will just with a single wall system. My apartment is literally a cement block of impact noise coming from anywhere everywhere if you know what I mean so building the booth on wheels was a great idea and that's what I will do. I like the sound quality of your booth (watched your storage shed video). May I suggest you also share the audio equipment and the tools you use for your projects. It will help others like me who are exhausted with tons of confusing information and would like to keep it simple and effective. Good luck with your channel.

@@mico-skywalker that is a good idea. Share the tools and sound set up using. I agree it would help. As soon as I finish up working this set for a scene we are working on for a short movie... I will do just that! I really need to wrap up the whole D.I.Y. segment and start sharing tools of the trade for Independent film production and sound. Please dont give up... keep at it! You will arrive where you want to be if you keep at it! Stay intouch
