For the lols, the person who voiced Senator Armstrong, the guy at the end, is a PROFESSIONAL voice actor. Not only did Max0r get a pro to do voice work for him, he managed to create a script so absurd the best takes involved him corpsing TWICE.

Despite him changing most of the details a bunch, this is surprisingly accurate to the story and that isn't a joke.
Also, when refering to memes in game they are referring to the original definition:
An element of a culture or system of behavior passed from one individual to another by imitation or other nongenetic means.
It could be said that a culture is not unlike an ecosystem. And in that sense, a meme is not unlike a species.
If it cannot stand the test of time, it must adapt or otherwise go extinct/irrelevant.

It's amazing how much of this dialogue is actually in the game, and matters today considering this game came out in 2013
Kojima has an uncanny power to predict the distant future
Death Stranding came out just before lockdown and that game has heavy themes about isolation and connection, the plot is quite literally about reconnecting the country via the internet.

This is probably my favorite Max0r series because it’s a good intro to his channel cuz it’s not as fast as his modern ones but still fast with the jokes and facts about the games blended insanely well.

His "for the blind people in my audience" quip in Yakuza 0 had me in tears, man's cooked as hell when he edits but damn if he isn't entertaining.

Max0r's narration is really fun to listen to and hes explained how he reads lines in an interview before. If i remember correctly, he'll read the end of a line first and then go back to the start to avoid running out of breath by the end. It also helps him maintain his cadence.

The game was so good and "Cool" when it came out that it literally became a meme over the years. Think it was the line where "Too much cool" was drawn. Just as any Kojima game, it carries a sad and true message.

After reading “real in game dialogue” i had to do research and… i am perplexed that it is indeed acual in game dialogue. I thought it was full parody, no.
This was one of his best works plus the game is pretty good and thanks to him this games popularity has grown a lot and the memes that comes from this game.

Its an interesting mini-documentary covering the history of fighting game culture, and it feels a bit more grounded like the Max0r video you just watched

I fucking love Max0r. XDD And it just so happens that Metal Gear Rising is my all-time favorite hack-and-slash game.
Yah it's a shame we don't get more games from that genre the last one that came out is is Dmc5 and Bayonetta 3 I think which i cannot play cuz I don't have that console.
@@blessanabey8386 Yeah, it's a shame. Devil May Cry and Bayonetta are pretty much the sole remaining high-octane hack and slash games left in existence. Even God Of War slowed things down, and just about every other hack-and-slash out there is a Souls-clone.

Fun fact, Jetstream Sam is the only enemy in the game with a no-notice attack. Everyone else triggers a response from Raiden's electronics, but Sam has an attack that has absolutely no notification and is subsequently the hardest attack in the game to block, and he primarily uses it when he's lost his sword. Basically, if Sam went all out, nobody can stop him, but he's just in it for the entertainment of fighting strong foes. If Sam had ambitions like Armstrong, the game would have ended with Sam's RGB stabbed through Raiden's chest.
Gotta love it when the in-game dialogue is already so absurd that it doesn't even need changing

Just a small suggestion, if you're looking for more video game parodies. There's a channel called Press Start to Laugh. He basically does parodies for games where your character doesn't talk and dubs over it. Some of his videos are longer, some shorter.

I love this one but I think you guys should check out some of his older ones since you can see how even though his editing didn't get as crazy as it is now he still keeps the same type of humor throughout the years. I recommend his Metal Gear Solid 3 video and Ace Combat 7

Main canon timeline is technically the 2 original Metal Gear games, 5 MG Solid games, and 2 Portable Ops games (PO and Peace Walker).
The Rising, Survive as well as the Ac!d series are not canon.
@@kenbocole1460 If George Lucas said the sequels aren't canon, I'd consider them no longer canon. Legal ownership over an IP doesn't mean shit.

Canon to the MG universe, yes, but it is it's own thing.
Metal Gear is a lot to take on. Slowly we get more pieces of it and maybe one day will dive into a full journey of the story 😅

There are other Kojima games that are part of the wider Kojima Universe, such as the Policenauts.
But there is also an Extended Kojima Universe that would on top of Policenauts also include Snatcher and potentially even Zone of the Enders. I put these 2 under EKU as it's not really entirely clear if they're meant to be in the same timeline together or not.
Official timeline would be roughly
Metal Gear series
Snatcher
Policenauts
And ends with Zone of the Enders.
I've always wondered if there's a human out there who can watch any of Max0r's videos and understand ALL the jokes.

If you wanna know more of what makes the characters in this game so interesting, there’s a video called “Metal Gear Rising’s Brilliant Bosses” by MangaKamen, which thoroughly explains the infamous bosses of this game. It’s about an hour long so if you want a long synapsis-esque video, I’d definitely check it out!

Everytime I see this video I really feel like he missed out not including the line at the beginning when Raiden gets his hand cut off. Literally in game Raiden says, "Shit, not again." In reference to in MGS4 where his arms also got cut off.
This guy jokes around yet still deliver facts good and bad while keeping anything cool about this game.. cool. My amazement is up there

For me, the crazy part about this video is that this is a fairly accurate summary of the game's narrative. You guys should definitely check out a channel called "Heroes of the Storm Highlights". It's hilarious fun from a VERY social game that's slowly dying because nobody talks about it anymore. Also, you guys are caught up on all the Blizzard lore so, you should at least know who all the characters are. :)
