As a duck hunter for 20 years, it’s great to see the representation of the waterfowl community in MeatEater. And I’d watch darn near anything with Chef Burgeois. That dude is a hoot.
I have never been hunting but was curious if you are in a place with lots of hunters like this shooting bird shot is there a big risk to hitting people? How do you avoid that?
You have to be careful and mindful of where your barrel is pointed and get on anyone who's getting a little loose with it. You'll have a lane you're allowed to shoot directly in front of you and behind you(maybe 60-90⁰). If you're on one of the ends, you get 180⁰ of shooting lane. Sometimes your buddy will just stay sitting down and you can shoot pretty much any direction.
Meat Eater is by far the best hunting, fishing, trapping and outdoor channel/show/ambassadors! Now with these new cooking shows added as well it's really great, the newest episodes of the regular show on Netflix are really great as well! It'd be cool to get a Meat Eater Ranch where people could hunt, fish, trap & even do wild life photography, then have a chance to learn how to properly field dress, treat & take care of the meat then cook it from the world class people on the show ect!
You counted that bird you couldn’t find against your limit. How nice it is to see you sticking to your ethical guns. I couldn’t argue against a man who might do otherwise, but personally I appreciate the move.
While camping in Texas we made a stop in the Davy Crockett National forest. We camped nearly 60 nights in 2021 most of which was national forest, so I wouldn't call us novice dispersed campers. I grew up hunting ducks in northeast Arkansas. We woke up at 6am on the end of a forest service road to a 17yo going sneaking on wood ducks up a creek I couldn't get over how awesome and different this was from the flooded rice fields and timber that I have grown up with. Ended up with 3 trucks of hunters parked in our camp and met them in their way out. They were like many of us that spend time in the out of doors, very well spoken and friendly. Even better yet they came out with a couple of birds. I loved hearing how guys and gals are getting done outside of what we consider to be the norm. This is a great series and can't wait to see what comes next!
This was my first season hunting waterfowl and I fell in love with it. Thankful for meateater dropping this series and duck camp diners to help me with my duck depression during the off-season! 🦆
Hunted the coast during the back half of that hurricane with 45-50 mph winds. One of my favorite hunts ever. Got our limits and it was sporty in those winds.
chef needs to lead and follow through more....he's 100% shooting behind them birds when I lived on the Texas coast made a lot of hunts near Austwell, Seadrift and Port O'Connor. Lotta waterfowl down there. Killed a lot of blue and green wings on the Guadalupe WMA. Teal season weather be hot. I'd wear my old camo BDU's from the military and a pair wading shoes. Never wore them hot ass waders during teal season.
I've been a waterfowler since 1996 or 1997, it's so nice to see these birds getting some love from MeatEater. Maybe we will start to hear some guests from DU or Delta on the podcast too.
I love Meat Eater but I wish it had more than the 2 or 3 episodes of waterfowl hunting. So to see this new series I am beyond ecstatic to see the beginning of a duck series coming from the Meat Eater crew. I also very much enjoy the host. Seems like a good dude to be in a blind with chewy the fat.
It's encouraging to see that many trucks in the lot and still get some ducks. Sometimes its discouraging seeing truck after truck. It's always worth it to get out there though.
Our early goose season last near in northern New England was also unseasonably warm. We were out and it was in the upper 70’s. First time I’ve ever goose hunted in heat like that
MeatEater always get it right when it comes to duck hunting videos. Waterfowlers know that duck hunting is about brotherhood and not just limits. The biggest thing most hunting shows get wrong with waterfowl videos is they focus to much on the killing aspect and not enough on the pre and post hunt and Luls on the hunt. For most of us these times are the best part of the hunt
So I got a nephew of mine who’s 11 years old he has been hunting with me just last year goose/duck for someone who’s in it so much he has pointed me towards your channel to check it out I got on here and watch it with him your very good about explaining details and I think that helps him a lot !! So here I am trying to help little man out to begin a little spread to help with mine to stick out just a little more. I appreciate the videos thank you
What a hunt! One of the best episodes of Meat Eater period!!!! Don't worry about missing JPB, you should see me dove hunt on a bad day:))) Happens to all of us!
Seeing you pluck your birds makes me happy knowing that there’s someone else out there that prefers to pluck whole birds rather than breast them out and throw away a good bit of meat
Love the vid, AND woulda loved EVEN MORE to see how these trophies were prepared. PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG I really enjoyed seein this and PLZ keep em comin. Peace ✌😎
Great video but just a word of advice, next time you use that boat just turn the top switch on and the gas gauge will work. I run the same boat here in West TN.
Great show...I love Ducks and I think I have mastered how to cook 'em, the hunting is an ongoing process. Can Chef Jean-Paul please do a wild Goose cooking episode...I need a lot of help there. Currently I just de-bone and make sausage out of all my Goose meat
I love you guys, love the content. Gotta say though, for all y'all new to hunting, especially bird hunting, where your hearing pro! You only get one set of ears. Would love to see you guys at meateater setting a good example in this like you do everything else. Its annoying to wear, its personal preference, I get it. Just wear your damn plugs.
Jean-Paul’s voice could sell ice to eskimos………fantastic show. After duck hunting the mouth of the river for decades, I know the sound of “enough” gas well.
I am 2 min in and laughing, "I have guns, decoys and all that figured out but I forgot about the gas" 🤣🤣 guys and gals this just means it's gona be an adventure
I love Steve, but he’s not much of a duck hunter or he never shows when he does often. It’s nice to see them expand into duck hunting. I hope they keep them coming!

@@Calmaressurgebat it doesn’t have that big of a load you’d have to be really close to get hit with the birdshot or whatever you’re using
@@Calmaressurgebat - you shouldn’t be in a place where you could be shot, and you shouldn’t setup where you may shoot others.
Whenever anyone gets shot, we just shove em in the mud and it's a unspoken rule to never speak of it again.

Chef Jean-Paul is a national treasure
Meateater coming through non surprisingly yet again. Stoked for this new series. Chef Jean Paul is great too
Probably my favorite series. Need some more duck camp dinners!!!
I love the Casual Retriever. He should have his own show.
Never thought about waterfowl hunting until watching meateater and Chef Bourgeois
That buck in the opening narration was an old WARRIOR. Love seeing some waterfowl content from the meat eater crew.

FINALLY! a series on waterfowling!
LFG!
Really appreciating this year round content. Thank you Meateater!!
No joke! Keeping us addicted to MeatEater.
As a first generation duck hunter shows like this help me learn the craft and get the confidence to take my kids out waterfowl hunting.

Love the fact Meateater is putting out more waterfowl content! Give us more Sean & JP episodes.

Good shoot guys. Thanks for making water fowling part of the Meateater series of hunting and fishing shows.

@SeanWeaver: You all are killin' it on this series. Thanks for showin' everyone else what waterfowlin' is all about. #like
Nothing gets me more excited than waterfowl
loved duck camp dinners, sure im going to love this too
I love the chefs passion to hold on those last few hairs.

I’m so freaking excited for duck lore. Don’t get me wrong I like watching the big game episodes but I’m at heart a waterfowl hunter.
Some great footage of those teal screaming in! Sean Weaver and Chef Jean Paul are the best additions to Meateater since Ryan Callaghan.
LOVE this! So glad to have a dedicated waterfowl show. The only thing I wish we could see is a cooking portion. Especially with Chef Jean-Paul in it!
Those teal, especially blue wing are so fast. I remember my first hunt as a kid hearing those blue wings sore over like fighter jets.
HOLD UP! first shot of the day/ season and he smokes the mojo?!?!?! ahahah now this is something i can enjoy
It's encouraging to see that many trucks in the lot and still get some ducks. Sometimes its discouraging seeing truck after truck. It's always worth it to get out there though.
All ducks are king! Can’t wait for more of this series…
Our early goose season last near in northern New England was also unseasonably warm. We were out and it was in the upper 70’s. First time I’ve ever goose hunted in heat like that
Can confirm, Sean is a crazy good shot
How would you know? 😉
Meateater they’ve just got something special going on. Rinella does it again.
Chef Jean-Paul for the win
@7:25 Jean-Paul hunting so many duck he is starting to sound like em! thanks for the entertainment boys!
Great to see you guys enjoying a couple of good hunts. In the northeast we can guarantee miserable weather for most days of duck season 😂

I’ll be watching the next episode for sure, keep up the good work Sean.
Y’all are killing it. Thank y’all so much
Now you don’t feel as bad missing all the late season doves I missed. Fast birds are hard to hit
Finally they’re back
Man this already has me hyped up for September teal in Ohio!
Love this series!
Lovin the new series! Touché to meat eater for bringin the ducks
Congratulations on your show launch Sean
So I got a nephew of mine who’s 11 years old he has been hunting with me just last year goose/duck for someone who’s in it so much he has pointed me towards your channel to check it out I got on here and watch it with him your very good about explaining details and I think that helps him a lot !! Congratulations Sean! Great episode/show! Love those whistling wing teal.
Ive been wanting more duck hunting on meateater! Finally got it. Keep it coming👍
I consider myself a duck hunter that takes a week off moose hunting every fall. This series is going to be awesome.
Yall should do a show on getting sean a dog! From pup to hunt.
Great show...if you got your bead on his beak your shooting behind a teal😎
Chef is the best
What a hunt! One of the best episodes of Meat Eater period!!!! Don't worry about missing JPB, you should see me dove hunt on a bad day:))) Happens to all of us!
Great new series. Awesome to see some new waterfowl content.
the 28:00 mark- with the Doggo staring at the camera......we need that to make the next poster by HH Spencer.
Seeing you pluck your birds makes me happy knowing that there’s someone else out there that prefers to pluck whole birds rather than breast them out and throw away a good bit of meat
Saving his energy for napping...🤣🤣🤣
J P let him shoot while you cook.....or bring plenty shells.... great video guys
Hey I’ve fished with Kevin before. Great guy
Excited for the series!
Nice work, Sean and Max!
They need to spotlight Louisiana for Teal season..
Awesome first episode!
Love the Duck series! JP your awful hard on the Black Cloud LOL.
Great series to watch during the off season! Looking forward to the next episode! 👍
Coming in clutch again!!!
Finally back !
That first lite waterfowl gear!!!
Love the vid, AND woulda loved EVEN MORE to see how these trophies were prepared. PLEASE DON'T GET ME WRONG I really enjoyed seein this and PLZ keep em comin. Peace ✌😎
Great one guys!

I co-sign this. Good ear plugs while hunting are vital to your quality of life.
Jean-Paul’s voice could sell ice to eskimos………fantastic show. After duck hunting the mouth of the river for decades, I know the sound of “enough” gas well.
“No later than 5”… on opening day? Yea I was already laughing at how that was gonna go
That's a good dog. Give him a treat.
And that's why on the nasty rainy days my dad used to say "Good day for ducks"
And… another. Unbelievable great shit. Awesome job
Where's the Truckers Texas? Time to Truck: hunt later!! love, peace, blessings!
Duck hunting is addictive.
Legit! Good stuff...
Really nice hunting!
About time meateater. I was hoping this would happen when y’all bought the duck camp series. Now y’all just need to teach John Paul how to shoot. 😂
"dont let this into the final cut" is like blood in the water for editors
Sean didn’t have the gun shouldered for three shots then says he must be shooting blanks lol 😂
I am 2 min in and laughing, "I have guns, decoys and all that figured out but I forgot about the gas" 🤣🤣 guys and gals this just means it's gona be an adventure
I love how meat eater is sponsored by chevy but literally almost every truck everyone is in is a ferd
that’s weird honestly lol
Lets gooooooooooooooo
I love Steve, but he’s not much of a duck hunter or he never shows when he does often. It’s nice to see them expand into duck hunting.
I hope they keep them coming!
Northern spoon teal 😜
The left-hander should be on the right side 😎
Makes me want to chase some ducks. I usually focus on antelope, deer and elk here in Wyoming
Man this is almost cruel, dropping right when duck season ends
Saludos
