Thank you for sharing, all I could think of duck and bean soup, beautiful memories growing up, watching mom and aunts plucking them in large tubs of water. What a feast. Enjoyed the video!

Worth the wait...buried the lede! Longtails at 50 minutes were worth the trip! Good job fellas....Alaska, as Muir said, should not be visited as a young man (Dan) lest you never be satisfied by any other place. Wonderful job!

Barrows Goldeneye don’t count as sea ducks for bag limit. You are not limited to 4 like harlequin, longtail scoters etc. bufflehead and goldeneye fall under puddle duck limits.

In Newfoundland long tails are called hounds. I guess because the colours are similar to a beagle and of course the long tail lol.

If you go to alaska to shoot birds to eat. Thats pathetic i only want to go their for my mouter Barrows, King Ider, Harlaquin duck, and a LongTail/Oldqua we have them here in wisconsin but not as common. And or a few scoters thats it.

We brought birds back for the wall, and why not try and eat a few as well? It was interesting learning how some Alaska natives prepare these birds and then trying them out for ourselves. Cook one up if you ever get the chance to go!
