How to install a rear hatch in the Hobie Outback kayak

In this video I do a detailed installation of a Hobie Twist-N-Seal 8-inch hatch. I install the hatch in the tank well at the rear of my 2020 Hobie Outback. I will be installing a complete power system under my new hatch. Subscribe so you don't miss my future content. Relocating all of my electronics to the rear of the kayak will provide me much better access to the batteries, and the NMEA 2000 backbone. Having the weight of the batteries in the rear will also help to balance the kayak when I am pulling it on my cart.

great video, Just a comment I have a 2015 Pro Angler and the hatch is actually opens the opposite direction from how you have it mounted to allow for easier access while on the kayak.

Makes sense. I wanted to access it from the rear. There is no way I could access the rear hatch while on the water anyways. The PA is more stable than the Outback. Thank you for watching!
